The Goddess Granted Me the [Hatching] Skill and Somehow I Became the Strongest Tamer, Commanding Mythical and Divine Beasts - 2
“……”
When I tried to open my eyes, the brightness made me close them again.
As I slowly opened my eyelids, I saw my parents and my sister in my view.
“Klaus! You’re awake!”
“Ah… Thank goodness.”
My father Paul and my mother Talis were rejoicing.
“Brother… I’m so glad… I was so worried about what would happen if you died…”
My sister Celia clung to me, tears streaming down her face.
She’s usually the reliable one, often scolding me and our father for being careless, but I couldn’t remember the last time I saw her cry.
As my parents spoke kind words to me, I patted Celia’s head.
“How long was I asleep?”
“It’s been exactly a week since you were struck by lightning.”
“When your heart stopped and you didn’t regain consciousness, we thought it was over.”
When I asked, my parents responded.
The incident with the lightning strike must have been when the goddess Muse granted me power.
I don’t remember being struck by lightning, but I have vague memories of what happened before that. I think…
“Celia, were you okay?”
I think it happened while we were walking on the road together.
“Yes, just as the lightning struck, you pushed me away. I didn’t even get a burn.”
Celia raised her face and explained, her sapphire eyes welling with tears before she buried her face in my chest again.
“I see… as long as you’re safe, that’s all that matters.”
We’re not related by blood, but we’ve spent the last ten years together, so she’s an important family member to me. If Celia’s beautiful face didn’t get burned, then it was worth getting struck by lightning.
“Still…”
Now that I’m awake, I start to think that it might have all been a dream.
It seems more plausible that I had a strange dream while gravely injured rather than the goddess Muse appearing in my dream and giving me a divine revelation.
Even if it wasn’t a dream, telling my worried parents and Celia about it would just make them think I’d lost my mind.
“Brother?”
As I patted Celia’s head while lost in thought, she raised her face, perhaps sensing my absent-mindedness.
“Alright, Celia, that’s enough for now. Klaus just woke up.”
“That’s right, we can’t tire out someone who was gravely injured any further.”
“Come to think of it… I’m still sleepy…”
Even though I had been sleeping for a week, I still felt drowsy.
“We can talk more tomorrow. For now, get some rest.”
I nodded, deciding to heed my father’s words.
“No, if I leave now, brother will die.”
Celia shook her head and clung tightly to my clothes.
“Well, well, it can’t be helped. Klaus, sleep with her.”
“No, that’s… a bit…”
Celia turned 15 this year, and she’s been growing, her body becoming more feminine.
Honestly, I wanted to avoid sleeping with her, but…
“Brother, do you not want to sleep with me?”
Seeing the dark circles under her eyes, it was clear she hadn’t slept much while I was unconscious, which filled me with guilt.
“Sigh… okay, just for tonight, alright?”
“Yes, brother. I love you!”
As my sister hugged me tighter and pressed her body against me,
“You two are really close.”
“Celia, take your time and be sweet to your brother.”
My parents smiled and left the room.
“Ugh… it’s hot, and I can’t breathe.”
The next morning, I woke up to find Celia hugging me tightly.
Her developed chest was pressed against my face, making it hard to breathe.
“Brother…”
Celia, seemingly having a good dream, murmured in her sleep with a relaxed expression.
I carefully extricated myself from her arms, got out of bed, and left the room quietly so as not to wake her.
“Klaus, would you like some breakfast?”
When I left my room and went to the living room, my mother turned around and asked me,
“Where’s your father?”
Noticing that my father was absent, I looked around.
“Your father is at work. He stayed by your side until you woke up, so his work has piled up.”
Knowing that he had taken time off work to be with me made my heart warm.
“I’m starving, Mom. Can I have something to eat?”
It was no surprise. After not eating anything for a week, once I became aware of my hunger, I couldn’t ignore it.
My mother placed freshly baked bread on a plate and prepared a salad. She poured soup into a cup and placed it on the table.
“Yeah, it’s delicious.”
The fact that it was my first meal in a while made it even more delicious. The light flavor of the soup seeped into my empty stomach, and the savory taste of the bread spread in my mouth.
Thinking that I wouldn’t have been able to taste this if I had died, I felt happy to be able to eat like this.
The door to my room burst open with a bang.
“Brother!?”
Celia, with a flustered expression, looked at me.
“What’s wrong, Celia? It’s so noisy this morning…”
“When I woke up, you weren’t there, so I thought maybe…”
She let out a sigh of relief, came closer, and sat next to me.
“Here, this is for you.”
My mother sighed as she prepared Celia’s meal and placed it on the table.
“You were sleeping so well that I thought it would be a shame to wake you up.”
I told Celia, whose blue eyes wavered accusingly.
“It’s not like that…”
My sister looked away and took a big bite of her bread.
