The Goddess Granted Me the [Hatching] Skill and Somehow I Became the Strongest Tamer, Commanding Mythical and Divine Beasts - 47
Chapter 47: Moving
Pihyaa… Pihyaa
…Zzz
I am watching as Feni and Purple are sleeping close together.
It has been six months since I first hatched Purple, a Magic Worm, and four months since I hatched Feni.
I have been spending time with them since they were born, and both of their bodies have grown significantly.
Purple evolved from the original Magic Worm into a rare monster called the Rainbow Butterfly. She now has four beautiful wings and antennae, and she is a very pretty butterfly.
Although she still spits out threads, a behavior from before her evolution, she can now use her threads to entangle and lift monsters, showing a power that wasn’t obvious from her appearance.
Purple was cute when she was a small caterpillar, but now, with her elegant and beautiful wings, she has become even more stunning.
Right now, Purple is sleeping on Feni’s head. Her wings are closed, and she moves slightly with each breath.
As for Feni, she has her neck bent backward, her face buried in her wings with her eyes closed.
When she was born, she was about the size of a kitten, but now she has grown about twice that size.
Her affectionate nature hasn’t changed much; she still pecks at me or Celia with her beak to get our attention, then offers her head to be petted.
When she looks at us with her round eyes, neither Celia nor I can refuse, and we end up playing with Feni. Of course, Purple doesn’t stay silent either, so most of my time at home is spent interacting with the two of them.
These two, still in their playful and affectionate phase, are growing, so the space feels a bit cramped.
When they sleep, they cuddle close to each other, but sometimes, when I wake up in the morning, they end up sleeping on the floor.
Knock knock knock
I heard a knock, and when I opened the door, the apartment owner was standing there.
“Is something wrong?” I asked.
He nervously glanced at the two sleeping monsters in the back and trembled as he said, “Actually… I was wondering if you could move out of the apartment…”
“Eh?”
I froze at his words.
The next day, I went to visit the Tamer Guild.
“Oh, it’s Klaus! You passed the national adventurer exam, right? Congratulations!”
When I arrived at the reception, the usual staff member greeted me with a smile.
It seemed that news of me passing the national adventurer exam had spread throughout the Tamer Guild, as I had already received congratulatory words from other staff members on my way here through Lebrant.
“Thank you,” I responded.
The staff member continued, “Your parents must be so proud, right?”
“Well, I did send a letter to my parents, but I haven’t received a reply yet,” I said.
I had sent them news about becoming a national adventurer and also updates on Celia’s life, but the letter hasn’t returned yet. They might not have read it due to the busy season.
“So, what brings you here today? Did you come to leave Feni and Purple with us for a quest or something?”
As I was thinking about this, the staff member asked why I was there.
“Actually, I want to rent a house,” I answered immediately.
“A house?”
The staff member placed her hand on her cheek and tilted her head in confusion.
“But Klaus, you’re already renting a place, right?”
Since I had registered my address, she was aware of my current living situation. It seemed odd that I was looking for another house despite already renting one.
“Well, last night the apartment owner came to visit, and it seems like there have been complaints from residents who are scared of Feni and Purple…” I explained the situation to the staff member.
Both Feni and Purple are gentle, and they wouldn’t harm anyone, but it seems that people who aren’t used to monsters find them threatening. Many people have been expressing their concerns.
For most lower-ranked monsters, it might be different, but since both Feni and Purple are high-ranked monsters, even though they are young, just having them around seems to cause stress for some people.
This reaction is not unusual. There are many people who fear tamed monsters.
“So, I suddenly have to move out now,” I concluded.
When it comes to tamed monsters, the Tamer Guild is the best place to consult, so I decided to ask the staff member if she knew of any good properties.
“I see… That’s what happened,” the staff member said, placing her hand on her mouth and nodding as she understood.
“I can certainly help you find a place if it’s for you, Klaus, but…”
“Is there a problem?” I asked, noticing her hesitant tone.
“Since the profession of Tamer has only been recognized recently, there aren’t many people who understand it. Because of that, if a tamed monster is going to live there, the property has to be purchased, not rented.”
“Is… that so?”
That changed things significantly. My expression stiffened as I listened closely to her words.
“Yes, when a tamed monster lives somewhere, the landlord doesn’t know what kind of effect it will have, and even if they ask for a high deposit, they still worry that the house might be destroyed. Over time, rental agreements became stricter, and now landlords mostly only deal with properties for sale.”
The Tamer Guild was founded by the Boyle Count family, who tamed a Red Dragon. Before that, there had been no idea of living with monsters.
Even in society, there is still prejudice against tamed monsters, and there are factions in the court that oppose tamers.
Because of that, environments where tamed monsters can live are quite limited, and other tamers are also struggling, the staff member complained.
“But, on the plus side, properties for sale are designed with tamed monsters in mind, so they’re more comfortable for them to live in.”
The staff member said this, then went into the back for a while and returned with a middle-aged man.
“This is Mr. Sagin, who handles real estate at the Tamer Guild. If you want, you can discuss your property needs with him.”
“Nice to meet you,” I said.
Mr. Sagin wiped sweat from his brow with a handkerchief and greeted me.
“I’m sorry to suddenly ask for your help,” I said, shaking his hand.
“It’s an honor to assist with the home of the famous Klaus. I’ll do my best to show you some good options,” he said enthusiastically as he opened a file.
