The Goddess Granted Me the [Hatching] Skill and Somehow I Became the Strongest Tamer, Commanding Mythical and Divine Beasts - 58
Chapter 58: Visit from Parents
“There’s no way they’ll tell me now, ‘It’s no good to become a national adventurer,’ right?”
“You’re worrying too much, brother.”
As I fidgeted, Celia chuckled and spoke to me.
It had been two weeks since we received the letter from our parents.
At the largest coach station in the royal capital, Celia and I were waiting for our parents to arrive.
The letter simply stated, “We want to talk about your future, so we’re coming to the royal capital,” so I couldn’t help but imagine bad things.
I had lived with my parents ever since I was born. Whenever they were vague like this, it usually meant they were about to lecture me.
“I’ve seen how hard you’ve worked in the royal capital these past six months. If they oppose you, I’ll definitely be on your side.”
“That’s reassuring.”
Celia, who had the second most influence in the family after our mother, would be a strong ally. If she was on my side, it felt like a ray of hope.
I remembered back to when I was young and got scolded by my parents for some mischief. Celia had said, “I’ll apologize with you,” and helped me out.
“Thanks.”
After thanking Celia, who was trying to encourage me, a coach, likely carrying our parents, stopped at the station.
The people getting off were carrying large bags, indicating they had traveled from far away.
After watching for a while with Celia, I spotted a familiar face.
“Oh, Celia, Klaus. How have you been?”
Our father, holding a trunk, approached. It had only been six months, but his smile felt nostalgic.
“Well, haven’t you grown a little?”
Our mother, also carrying a bag in both hands, approached, smiling as she looked at Celia and me.
“I’m so glad to see you both looking well.”
As Celia and our mother embraced, I continued talking with our father.
“You’ve changed, Klaus.”
Our father looked at me with eyes full of admiration. His expression seemed happy.
“Really?”
As I tilted my head at his words, our mother said, “Maybe it’s because you’ve been working as an adventurer, but you’re in better shape.”
“At this age, you grow a lot in just a little while. I want to hear more details,” our father added.
I, too, wanted to hear more about our father’s days as an adventurer.
It felt nice talking with my parents after such a long time, but we were still in the waiting area of the coach station. It wasn’t the best place for a calm conversation.
“Let’s move to another coach right away.”
It would be better to take them to the house first. My mansion was in the Tamer District, so we decided to take a coach there.
“It’s so rushed. We finally made it back to the royal capital, and yet…”
Since it had been a while since our father had visited, he probably wanted to look around the city. He had a disappointed look on his face.
“You’re staying for a while, right? In that case, you should rest and recover from the journey first,” Celia said.
“That’s true. I want to hear about your stories too,” our mother added.
Celia comforted our complaining father, and our mother helped mediate, just like usual.
Once we got into the coach, we started catching up with each other, filling in the gap of the time we had been apart.
