The Goddess Granted Me the [Hatching] Skill and Somehow I Became the Strongest Tamer, Commanding Mythical and Divine Beasts - 59
Chapter 59: Children Take After Their Parents
“Th-this is… your house, Klaus?”
“Oh my, the cleaning must be quite a task, huh?”
When I showed them inside, my parents both opened their mouths and looked up at the mansion.
Both Celia and I had kept quiet about this because we wanted to surprise our parents.
“I needed it for something, so I bought the house.”
When I said that,
“Even so… the garden and mansion are bigger and more magnificent than the lord’s residence in our town.”
My father imagined the lord’s residence in our hometown. I’ve seen it a few times, and now that I think about it, it might be about the same size.
“It was really cheap because no one else bought it. The garden needs some work though.”
Compared to the lord’s mansion, where you could hold a gardening party at any time, this mansion still needs a lot of work. Because of everything that happened, the path leading to the mansion and the weeds around it were about the only parts taken care of.
“That’s true, the mansion is beautiful, but the garden is in such bad shape. It’ll take a lot of work.”
Even though we had come all the way to the royal capital, my mother was more concerned about the garden than resting her body.
“Well, it’s not like I invited you here just for you to clean…”
I do miss having my mother clean for me, but since we’ve come to the royal capital, I want her to relax more.
“It’s fine, brother. Let mom do what she wants.”
“My daughter really understands me.”
Celia, who supported my mother, hugged her.
“I also come over on days when there’s no school to help with chores and such.”
Celia said happily and began talking with my mother about the garden.
“Let’s go inside. No need to talk outside all day.”
Thinking it wouldn’t be of any use to keep talking outside, I interrupted their conversation and opened the door.
“Hah… I thought the inside would be old because of the exterior, but it’s well-maintained. I can’t believe you could do all this cleaning, Klaus… or did Celia do it? Or maybe you hired someone?”
Of course, Celia had arranged the furniture and cleaned the smaller details, but…
“Well… I sort of hired someone.”
Celia gave me a signal with her eyes.
“I’ll introduce them. All three, come out.”
“Peep!”
“….♪”
“….(timid)”
“My… Monsters!?”
Both my parents were shocked when they saw Feni, Purple, and Rock.
“Don’t worry, they’re all my familiars.”
“Well, even if you say don’t worry… You…”
My father looked confused, and my mother froze with wide eyes.
“They’re all really good kids. Come here.”
Seeing my parents’ reactions, Celia called them over.
“Peep!”
“….♪”
Feni and Purple came closer to Celia.
Since I had warned them about Feni flying around possibly scaring my parents, they landed on the floor and walked over instead.
“Chichichichichichichichi.”
“….♪♪♪”
“When I pet them like this, they make such cute, happy sounds.”
Seeing Celia with a joyful expression, my parents understood that Feni and the others weren’t dangerous.
“Still, I can’t believe you became a Tamer. I’m still shocked today.”
My father lifted Rock, who had clung to my legs and passed by Celia’s feet.
“….(confused)”
Rock froze in place, surprised by the sudden change, but when my father stroked his head,
“….(happy)”
Rock quickly relaxed and leaned into his touch.
“Oh my, Feni and Purple are their names, right? They’re so cute.”
My mother, too, started playing with them along with Celia.
I had been worried they might feel scared since I was keeping monsters as familiars, but it seemed my concerns were unnecessary.
“Didn’t you two feel scared of the three?”
“Why would we?”
Both my father and mother, along with Feni, Purple, and Rock, all tilted their heads and looked at me.
“Celia knew about them beforehand and adapted, but there are people who are afraid of monsters.”
There are even anti-Tamer factions inside the palace, and there are certainly people who are afraid of monsters.
I couldn’t guess which side my parents would be on.
“We’re not scared at all.”
“We’re not scared at all.”
Both of them answered immediately. When I asked why,
“Because all three of them are part of your family, right? There’s no reason for us to be scared.”
“You knew we were like this from the start, didn’t you?”
Celia sighed as she walked closer.
“That’s true…”
Whether it was Celia or my parents, I knew they would never deny what was important to me.
“My family really is the best.”
Surrounded by such a wonderful family, I felt proud of how I had been raised.
