Chapter 72: About the Maintenance of the Mansion

In front of me, the three familiars were happily playing together.

Feni, with a chick following her, acted like the boss, while Purple behaved like an older brother to Rock, who followed him. It seemed like Purple was looking out for Rock, and there was a sense of trust between them. A good atmosphere flowed between the three.

As I finished cleaning the shed while watching the familiars playing in the yard, Celia had already prepared breakfast for us.

The lightly browned toast was generously spread with butter, and a delicious smell filled the air. The butter was made from fresh milk bought at the market near the mansion, and both Celia and I liked its rich flavor.

Watching my cute familiars play and having breakfast with my beloved sister felt like a very happy moment.

“I’m heading to school now,” she said.

She started stacking the dishes to clean up. She had already changed into her school uniform.

Rock approached and took our plates, heading back to the mansion with them. Lately, Rock had been handling the cleanup after meals.

Watching the two of them awkwardly, I said, “Well then, I’ll head out too.”

I decided to see her off to the carriage station. It’s an important duty for a brother to watch over his sister as she heads off to school.

“You’re so kind, brother,” she said with a cheerful expression, peering at me, and I felt at ease.

“By the way, Klaus, how’s the mansion going?”

After sending Celia off, I visited the Tamer Guild to deliver some items. As soon as the payment was completed, a staff member spoke to me.

“What do you mean?”

I tilted my head, unsure of the vague question.

“I heard from Sagin that the garden is in terrible shape, and the mansion is old… Is it difficult to maintain?” The staff member put a hand on her cheek and shared the information she had heard from Sagin.

“Well, that’s true. I used Feni’s Purification Flame to clean the mansion, but the garden is overrun with weeds…”
