The Goddess Granted Me the [Hatching] Skill and Somehow I Became the Strongest Tamer, Commanding Mythical and Divine Beasts - 73
Chapter 73: Support from the Tamer Guild
A few days had passed since I had requested the Tamer Guild to help with the garden maintenance.
Today was finally the day for the garden work, and Celia and I were preparing to entertain the guests while waiting.
“I will do my best today,” said a voice.
“I came to help,” another voice added.
It was Lebrant and Carol, along with several other tamers, who had arrived.
“Lebrant, you’re joining in?” I asked.
According to the staff, Lebrant was said to be quite busy and buried in paperwork.
“This time it’s a request for garden maintenance, so my familiar can be of help,” Lebrant replied confidently, looking at his familiar.
The creature he brought was a monster with golden fur and two horns.
“This is a D-rank monster, the Golden Goat. One of my familiars,” Lebrant said.
The other tamer behind him had the same familiar.
“This one eats a lot. Once it starts eating, it’ll even consume the roots, so it’s perfect for cleaning up the weeds in this garden,” he continued.
Indeed, removing the weeds was the first step before any garden work could begin, so it made sense. The Golden Goat was already eyeing the weeds, looking hungry, so once released, it would immediately start eating them.
“It usually costs a lot to feed them, and it enjoys going to the plains sometimes, but with a food source like this nearby, it’s perfect,” Lebrant added.
“Yes, and on top of that, we even get paid. It’s perfect,” said the tamer.
I had heard that feeding and housing familiars could be expensive depending on the tamer, but from their expressions, they seemed to be managing.
“It’ll be a big help if it can eat up all the weeds, so we appreciate it,” I said, and they quickly released the Golden Goat to begin clearing the weeds.
“So, Carol, why are you here?” I asked, turning my gaze to her standing by herself.
“Mm, Marguerite told me to come,” Carol replied.
The request had been made through the Tamer Guild staff, so it was odd that Marguerite, an outsider, had information about it. Where had he gotten the details from?
“What did Marguerite say?” I asked.
Carol answered clearly, “He said if I help clean up Klaus’s estate, I’ll get some delicious food.”
Carol’s eyes sparkled with excitement as she fluttered her ears and wagged her tail.
“Celia, please go to the market and get some ingredients,” I instructed.
“Understood, brother,” she replied.
I had originally planned to prepare a light meal, but I doubted that would satisfy Carol. I hurriedly made my request to Celia.
“Celia, more meat would be great.”
Carol, who had once tasted Celia’s cooking, seemed to have developed a liking for it, and she cheekily made her own request.
“Alright, Klaus. Just tell me what you need,” Carol said, turning to me and ready to take on any task. Her enthusiasm to do anything for food was admirable.
“Uh, well… then…” I stammered, not sure how to give instructions to someone more experienced than me, especially since she was a senior national adventurer.
Since it wasn’t a request through the Tamer Guild, it would be considered a volunteer job, and I could only offer food in return, which made it even harder.
“Carol, let’s work together to prepare the land for planting,” I suggested.
I wanted to make use of what I had learned at the Alchemist Guild, so I planned to discuss with Celia and grow plants.
“Got it, leave it to me,” Carol said without any complaints, and we set to work preparing the garden.
