The Goddess Granted Me the [Hatching] Skill and Somehow I Became the Strongest Tamer, Commanding Mythical and Divine Beasts - 21
Successfully obtaining the desired item, I emerged from the mine shaft only to find a golem standing before me.
Several meters tall, its body made of rock was hard and heavy, making slashing attacks ineffective against it, while blunt force was recommended.
Rated as Rank C monsters, fledgling adventurers were advised to flee upon encountering them.
“Finally out of the mine, and now this…”
It wasn’t there when I entered. Had it been hiding somewhere, or was it drawn here by something?
Surrounding the entrance were a dozen or so golems, indicating their target was the Scarlet Diamond Rough Stone I possessed.
Golems supposedly grow and alter their bodies by absorbing other rare ores.
Perhaps they sensed the presence of rare ores I had brought out from the volcanic cave.
Normally, facing this many would leave no chance, but I now possessed a newly acquired weapon.
“Feni, could you take this and retreat?”
I handed Feni the backpack filled with ores.
“Pii!”
Feni nodded, grabbed the backpack with both legs, fluttered her wings, and flew unsteadily to a nearby cliff.
The golems’ gazes turned in that direction. It seemed my guess was correct; their objective was the Scarlet Diamond Rough Stone.
Driven by their instinct to absorb rare ores, were they not seeing me as a threat at all?
All the golems moved toward the cliff.
If they remain defenseless, that would be convenient.
Approaching from behind the golems, I drew the Sun Sword I had obtained earlier.
“It feels as light as a feather.”
The blade sparkled brightly. The Sun Sword, once drawn, was a beautiful weapon.
Adorned lavishly with multiple embedded gems.
Just holding it gave an intimidating feeling, and when I put my will to strike, it glowed faintly.
It felt as though the weapon and I had become one.
“Let’s start with a test slash and see how it goes.”
Against a golem, which was exceptional in toughness even among monsters of the same rank, I checked how effective my sword would be.
“Hah!”
Feeling no weight at all from the Sun Sword, I swung faster than usual.
“Huh?”
I swung horizontally toward the golem’s leg, but felt no resistance as the blade passed through.
“Could it be that I misjudged the distance?”
No, that couldn’t be. It’s right in front of me; even with eyes closed, it would be harder to miss.
—Zzzzz—
I heard a noise. When I raised my head and looked,
“Owaaaah!”
The golem lost its balance and fell.
I quickly dodged and checked the state of the fallen golem.
Its leg was severed, and its surface was smooth.
“Could it be because of this sword?”
The slash I just made was effective, and the lack of resistance was simply because the blade was exceptionally sharp.
As an experiment, I thrust the sword into the golem, and it sank into its body more easily than stabbing a fork into jelly.
I moved it sideways. Despite not exerting much force, the sword slid smoothly and cleaved through the golem’s torso.
“As expected of an S-rank item… its power is incredible.”
S-rank items rarely circulate, and even if they do, they’re usually auctioned off, so commoners rarely get to see them.
That’s why these items are known for their immense effectiveness.
Having defeated one golem, the others on the cliff finally turned their attention towards me.
“Good, let me test the performance of this sword even more.”
I closed the distance with a golem reaching out its arm, sweeping it aside with a horizontal slash.
Continuing forward, I cut off the arms of golems one after another as they extended towards me.
Feeling hardly any weight or impact, I fell into the illusion of practicing swings.
“With this, I can take on as many as I want.”
I hadn’t accumulated any fatigue throughout the journey.
It must be the effect of “Automatic Health Recovery (Medium).
As long as the physical exertion wasn’t too much, I could recover just by resting for a bit.
In other words, I was capable of moving around for quite a long time.
Taking advantage of this superiority, I swung the sword and moved around to avoid being surrounded.
The golems’ movements weren’t fast, allowing me to keep seizing the initiative.
“Yeah, that should do it.”
Had I been moving around for tens of minutes?
Before I knew it, the shattered remnants of golems had scattered around the entrance of the mine, as I continued to defeat the increasingly gathering golems.
“Pii!”
Feni descended with the backpack.
“Thanks, Feni. You saved me.”
“Chichichii.”
She chirped happily as I petted her chin.
I readjusted the backpack.
“If I keep holding this, more golems might come. It’s time to head back.”
With Feni perched on my head, we returned to the royal capital.
