The Goddess Granted Me the [Hatching] Skill and Somehow I Became the Strongest Tamer, Commanding Mythical and Divine Beasts - 27
“Peep”
“…♪”
In front of me, Feni and Purple were communicating with each other. They met each other’s gaze, Feni chirped, and Purple moved its antennae and fluttered its wings.
The atmosphere between the two felt pleasant and friendly, making me breathe a sigh of relief.
When Feni spread her wings, Purple flew into the air and landed on them.
“Peep peep!”
“…☆♪”
Purple’s antennae touched Feni’s forehead, and Feni also moved her head to play with Purple. It was a very heartwarming and soothing sight.
“Ahem.”
A cough brought me back to reality, and I turned to face forward. This was not the library where I had been earlier but the Tamer Guild Master’s office.
“So, Klaus. I’d like to hear more details about this…”
The person in front of me was Lebrant, the Guild Master of the Tamer Guild. Besides him, there were only a few staff members present, and I was being questioned about what caused Purple to evolve.
“According to the records, Purple didn’t show any unusual behavior other than eating herbs. Is it possible for it to evolve suddenly without any signs?”
Lebrant scratched his cheek as he read through Purple’s ecological survey report from the Tamer Guild, looking puzzled. Indeed, if you read the report, that’s exactly what it said, but…
“Um… I think it might have been the trigger.”
“Hmm?”
I decided to explain Purple’s behavior over the past few days, which wasn’t in the report.
“Regarding the food, besides regular herbs, I also fed it Crystal Herb.”
“Cr… Crystal…?”
“Why would you do that?!”
Both the staff member and Lebrant opened their mouths wide and looked at me.
“Well, I found it deep in the forest, and Purple wanted it… so I couldn’t help it.”
“No, no, no, that’s a rare item that would fetch a high price if sold. Giving it away like that…”
Lebrant looked flustered. I had one more thing to mention.
“And also, before cocooning itself with thread, it captured and ate a Mini Fly with its thread.”
“I’ve never heard of a Magic Worm defeating and eating a monster on its own!”
With this alone, they seemed to understand that our Purple was special.
“So, to evolve into a Rainbow Butterfly, a Magic Worm needs to be tamed, fed Crystal Herb, and strengthened by defeating monsters?”
“Guild Master, it also needs to be bathed in Purifying Flame at the end…”
The staff member supplemented the sequence of events.
“What are the odds of that… No, there might be other methods besides what Klaus said, but it’s not very practical. We can’t disclose this information.”
“Right, if someone tries it and fails, they’ll blame us for losing a rare item like Crystal Herb.”
If the Magic Worm died midway or failed to evolve, the Tamer Guild would receive complaints for disclosing the information.
“For now, let’s say the cause is unknown. There’s no way to verify it anyway.”
“Understood. We’ll do that.”
Lebrant and the staff member concluded as such.
“Now, about the ‘Rainbow Butterfly Scales’…”
Once the story of Purple’s evolution to a Rainbow Butterfly was settled, Lebrant brought up another topic.
“Is it really such an amazing item?”
Since it appeared as an A-rank item when obtained, I could guess it was a highly usable material, but I had never heard of it before, so I asked about its uses.
“Rainbow Butterfly Scales are highly valued as one of the catalysts used in expensive magical tools. When used in potions and other medicines, their effects are said to double, making it a coveted item for alchemists.”
The staff member continued to explain.
“Also, when mixed with metal to make weapons, it can create a magic sword with excellent magical conductivity, effective against spirit and ghost-type monsters. When used in armor, it significantly enhances resistance to magic.”
“That sounds pretty amazing, doesn’t it?”
If it could be used for magical tools, weapons, and armor, the demand would never cease.
“So, what do you want to do? The Tamer Guild does sell parts of monsters, but we don’t force them to provide anything.”
From what I heard, it seemed that the Tamer Guild could buy dropped hair, feathers, scales, and even teeth or claws that had been replaced from monsters.
The Tamer Guild could secure precious materials, and tamers could obtain funds without having to find buyers themselves. This system seemed to have mutual benefits since some monsters could have expensive food and housing costs.
“The scales of the founder’s Red Dragon are handled here too, right?”
The noble who founded this Tamer Guild secured and sold the Red Dragon’s scales whenever they were replaced through the guild. Because of this, the Tamer Guild had become an indispensable part of the royal capital.
“I’m not forcing you to provide the scales, but I’d like to handle the sales of what you get.”
“I understand. I appreciate your decision.”
Lebrant bowed his head as he said this.
Entrusting rare items to the Tamer Guild also had advantages for us. If we didn’t do this, merchants and nobles would try to make individual deals, and refusing them each time would prevent us from ever going on adventures.
I only intended to sell rare items from Feni and Purple within reasonable limits, so I planned to have the Tamer Guild handle it and adjust with other customers.
I informed Lebrant of this.
“Of course. The Tamer Guild’s purpose is for people and monsters to live harmoniously. As long as you’ve entrusted it to us, we won’t let you down. We will protect both Feni and Purple.”
Lebrant’s reassuring words made me nod.
“One more thing, if I may?”
“Is there something else?”
I thought the conversation was over, but Lebrant seemed to have more to say.
“Klaus, I heard you’re taking the national adventurer’s exam…”
“Yes, well…”
“If you’re taming rare monsters, it’s better to have the qualification. Most of the people from the Boil Count’s family have it.”
Apparently, the noble family that founded the Tamer Guild. They explained that people who tame rare monsters often get caught up in trouble, so they acquire the qualification.
“If you haven’t decided on a sponsor yet, would you let me recommend you?”
After explaining everything, Lebrant made this proposal. The Guild Master had the authority to act as a sponsor and offered to back me.
For someone like me, who hadn’t secured a single sponsor yet, this was an ideal situation.
“Please, I’d be honored.”
I extended my hand to him and accepted his proposal.
