The Goddess Granted Me the [Hatching] Skill and Somehow I Became the Strongest Tamer, Commanding Mythical and Divine Beasts - Chapter 116: Tamer Camp
Chapter 116: Tamer Camp
A few days after Charlotte asked me, I was participating in the Tamer Camp, an event held by the Tamer School.
This event is only for some of the best students at the Tamer School, so normally, an outsider like me wouldn’t be allowed to join. However, since the school’s director is Douglas, they made a special exception for me.
The meeting place was on the grounds of the Tamer School, located in the tamer area. The other students had already gathered there.
Most of the students were around the same age as me and Charlotte, and each of them had at least one monster by their side.
Some common ones I noticed were Horn Rabbits, Mini Wolves, and Hawks… Monsters suited for F-rank or E-rank hunting.
As for me, I had Koku and Riko sitting on my shoulders. I left the rest of my familiars at the mansion, but I pampered them a lot before leaving, so it should be fine.
“It’s rare to see so many familiars together. Koku, Riko, I hope you can make some friends.”
“Kok Kok!”
“……”
I brought these two along because the Tamer Camp was supposed to involve activities with familiars.
Unlike Feni and Purple, Koku and Riko didn’t have many chances to interact with other familiars, so I thought this would be a good opportunity to get them used to it.
“Even so…”
No one was talking to me.
I could tell they were aware of me from a distance, but I felt like I wasn’t exactly welcome. Maybe they were being cautious, wondering why an outsider was here.
As I started feeling a bit out of place, a familiar voice reassured me.
“Lord Klaus.”
Charlotte appeared, and the atmosphere around us changed instantly.
The students who had been looking at me turned their eyes toward her instead, filled with admiration.
“Thank you for coming today despite your busy schedule.”
She stood in front of me and greeted me with her usual perfect bow.
“It’s fine. Marguerite also helped make arrangements.”
I had asked Marguerite in advance to make sure no escort requests came in, and he was happy to let me go.
“Actually, I was interested in tamer events, so I’m glad you invited me.”
I became a tamer by taming wild monsters, so I lacked knowledge about how tamers usually operate. I hoped I could learn more by participating in this event.
As I was thinking about this, a monster suddenly climbed up onto Charlotte’s shoulder.
“Kyukyu!”
It was a brown-furred monster with rodent-like features. Its most notable trait was its jewel-like eyes.
“This is my familiar, Squarl.”
“Kyukyu!”
Squarl raised its right paw as if greeting me, Koku, and Riko. It seemed completely loyal to Charlotte, but its gestures were really cute.
“These are my familiars, Koku and Riko. You two, say hello.”
“Kok!”
“……”
Koku spread his wings, and Riko nodded his head in greeting.
When they jumped down to the ground, Squarl followed, and the familiars began interacting.
They started playfully wrestling and rolling on the ground, quickly getting their bodies covered in dirt.
“Hey, don’t get too carried away.”
Since we’d be traveling by carriage later, I should get ready to use Purifying Flame.
“Still, I was surprised to see a monster I’ve never seen before.”
I shifted my focus from the familiars and continued my conversation with Charlotte.
I had studied different monster types to prepare for battles, but I didn’t recognize the one she brought.
“I rarely let it outside the house, so probably only the students here at the Tamer School have seen it.”
She explained that it was a rare familiar, so she usually kept it at home.
“Squarl is a B-rank monster called a Jewel Beast. It loves shiny things.”
That explains it.
Koku’s wings and Riko’s scales were made of crystal. Of course, Squarl would be interested.
“Wait… It kind of looks like they’re being attacked.”
Looking closely, I saw Koku and Riko struggling desperately to avoid being pinned down by Squarl.
“K-Kokuu!”
I could hear their thoughts pleading for help.
“Haha, it looks like they’re getting along well. How adorable.”
Charlotte kept smiling, seemingly unaware of the situation.
Just earlier, I had hoped Koku and Riko would make friends, but now I realized that some monsters just don’t get along well.

Klaus will win the contest for sure, but won’t know what kind of monster he will tame.. Thanks for the treat.
