The Great Sage Who Did not Remain in Legend - 11.3
“Then, can I assist the customer over there until you calm down?”
“Oh, sure. I’m off today, so I have time.”
Off today… From her name and everything else, it seemed she wasn’t a hunter after all.
“Sorry to keep you waiting. What kind of magic are you looking for?”
“Before that, I have a question.”
“What is it?”
“Did you happen to rescue a naive girl recently?”
“Huh?”
“On the way from Lionel to the capital, there was a girl attacked by wolves. It seems a man with black hair and eyes rescued her. We have business with that man. We heard that a man matching that description is in this shop, and it seems we hit the mark.”
Are they looking for me?
Hearing that strangers were searching for him, he became cautious but didn’t show it on his face.
“Unfortunately, I’m just the owner of a magic bookshop where no customers come. I’m not a man who can drive away wolves. It’s true that black hair and eyes are rare, but you must have mistaken someone else, right?”
“Hmm…”
“What?”
“I heard that the girl said the man also drove away the wolves.”
She smirked.
“Even for an ordinary person, driving away wolves would be the limit, right?”
“Hehe, well, never mind. So this is a magic bookshop, right?”
“That’s right.”
“Do you handle magic books that can produce water?”
“We do. It’s 1 million G though.”
“Expensive,” muttered Vanessa.
“Alright. I currently have a water-producing magic I’m using. Is it possible to overwrite it with this one?”
“It’s possible.”
“Then I’ll buy that one.”
“Wait, Rocca, if you pay 1 million G, you’ll be penniless.”
Cisco tried to stop her.
“It’s fine. I’ll pay for this myself.”
“What?!” Vanessa and Cisco were surprised. They had thought they would use party funds even if they bought water magic.
“Understood. If you’re already using a water-producing magic, there shouldn’t be a problem with compatibility.”
“Yeah, no problem.”
With that, the woman took out a bag and dumped a pile of gold coins onto the counter. Mergin counted the small gold coins with unfamiliar words: “Hifuu Miyo.”
“Here, exactly 100 small gold coins. This is the magic book.”
“Is this all?”
“Yeah. Once you’re used to it, you won’t even need an incantation.”
“Oh… that’s interesting.”
“But I don’t recommend using it without an incantation.”
“Why not?”
“Because if you activate it in your dreams, you might think you wet the bed.”
Mergin teased the mature woman.
