The Great Sage Who Did not Remain in Legend - 15.4
“Will she really become curvy?”
“Mergin.”
“What is it, Captain?”
“Milly used to be as slim as Rikka, you know. I didn’t think much of it back then, but suddenly… her chest started to grow.”
Captain, stop that lewd hand gesture. The proprietress is looking at you like you’re filth.
“So, you started seeing her as a woman then?”
“Exactly. During my prime, she was famous as a stunningly beautiful hunter. Well, now she looks like a beer barrel.”
Crash, thud, crack.
With that last comment, the captain was beaten to within an inch of his life.
Fearing to get caught up in the violence, Mergin decided to leave.
“They say not even dogs eat during a marital spat, so I’ll head home.”
“Come wash the dishes tomorrow.”
The proprietress, sitting on top of the captain and punching him, said this to Mergin.
—After Mergin left—
“Dadd, do you think it’s true that Mergin was part of a hero party from thousands of years ago and was petrified?”
“I think it’s true. The things he has and his magic are impossible otherwise.”
“And though he seems easy-going, Mergin is incredibly strong, right?”
“If he got serious, I wouldn’t even know what hit me before I was dead.”
“Sigh, it really is true then. At first, I thought he was spinning a tall tale to hide some special circumstances, but after today, I’m convinced it’s not a lie.”
“I always thought it was true… But I never noticed Rikka had feelings for Mergin.”
“What are you talking about? It’s been obvious from her behavior. Rikka must have instinctively sensed Mergin’s strength. Women are attracted to strong men, especially our daughter.”
“That might be true. But Rikka won’t be getting married anytime soon.”
“Mergin isn’t interested in her, so it’ll be fine for now.”
“But it still bothers me that Mergin said he doesn’t care about Rikka.”
The captain’s feelings were complicated. He didn’t want to lose his precious daughter, but he also didn’t like hearing that she meant nothing to Mergin.
