The Great Sage Who Did not Remain in Legend - 16.3
Could this possibly be related to nobility?
Without hearing the details, Mergin appraised the girl on his own.
Name: Irisflone Voltia
Age: 12
Magic Power: 314
Oh, she’s over 300 in magic power at 12. Quite talented. If her magic power growth is multiplicative, she could reach 800 eventually… no, she might even exceed 1000. And she has an A in fire affinity. Stamina is B, while others are C and D. With these abilities, she could perform well as an offensive magic user in a hunter’s party.
Magic power growth can be divided into additive and multiplicative types. Additive types grow steadily, so they often have relatively high magic power expectations in childhood but become average as growth slows. On the other hand, multiplicative types have slow growth in childhood but increase rapidly later on.
And judging from her name, she does seem to come from noble blood. Her father, who wouldn’t meet her, is a noble. So she’s likely a child with a reason other than being from the main wife. It’s probably better not to delve too deeply into this.
Mergin stopped asking for more details. Even if he asked, there wasn’t much he could do, and matters involving nobility were troublesome.
“Here, your body must be cold. Drink this before it gets cold.”
“I don’t want anything to eat…”
She must have been really shocked. She seemed to have no appetite at all.
“Well then, I’ll heat some water so you can take a bath.”
“You have a bath…? But I don’t want to right now…”
Damn, if she stays with her body cold like this, she’ll catch a cold.
“I told you to take a bath because you stink.”
Mergin said it in an unnecessary way.
“I-I don’t stink!”
“No, maybe your father didn’t want to meet you because you stink?”
“W-what…?”
Seeing the girl’s angry face start to turn into a crying one, Mergin thought he’d better get away quickly and went to the bathroom, where he prepared some hot water.
“Come on, come over here. Since you don’t know how to use it, I’ll explain.”
“I don’t stink!”
“Never mind that, just come.”
The girl kept insisting she didn’t stink. True, he didn’t think she smelled, but she seemed reasonably dirty.
“Before you get in the tub, wash your body. This is soap for washing your body, and this is shampoo for your hair. After washing your hair, put this on and rinse it off last. Turn the water on by twisting this here.”
The girl was taken to the bathroom against her will and was amazed. It was rare enough that there was a bathtub, but there were also facilities she had never seen before.
“What’s this place…?”
“What’s the matter? Obviously, it’s the bathroom, right? Do you have your change of clothes?”
“Yes, I do.”
“Then where did that huge backpack go? You had a tent and stuff too, right?”
Mergin had already confirmed that the girl didn’t have her luggage from when he found her. Now, all she had were a water bottle and a small shoulder bag. It didn’t seem like her small bag could hold a change of clothes.
“Oh…”
“Did you leave it at an inn or something?”
“I didn’t stop by an inn…”
The girl turned pale.
