The Great Sage Who Did not Remain in Legend - 42.1
“Mergin, are you interested in that?”
Rikka calls out to Mergin, who is staring intently at the br3astplate.
“Why is there no price on this?”
“Hehe, ask Dad about that.”
Rikka grins and holds back laughter.
“Dad, why is there no price on this?”
“If it’s you, how much would you pay?”
“Do I get to set the price? Hmm, about 30,000?”
“Get out!”
Dad was really angry at the mention of 30,000.
“Hey, Mergin. You’re the first person to say a price that matches that of other cheap br3astplates!”
“No, this is unprocessed, right? Isn’t that a reasonable price? Others are properly processed. This can also be adjusted to fit better. If it’s just the material, that’s what it’s worth.”
“Y-You’re an idiot. Don’t say any more!”
Rikka hurriedly covers Mergin’s mouth.
“You little brat, get the hell out!”
“Why are you angry? This is a scale from a big lizard, right? And if it’s this size, it’s from the end of the tail. Plus, it’s from the softer side. 30,000 is a fair price. It’s also quite deteriorated. If it were from the hardest part of the back, you could charge more.”
“Kid, do you even know what kind of scale that is?”
“Like I said, it’s from a big lizard.”
“A lizard, huh… Come over here.”
Dad, leaving Vanessa, grabs Mergin by the nape of the neck and takes him inside.
“Hey, Dad! Mergin means no harm. He’s just a bit lacking in common sense…”
Rikka’s words go unheard as Mergin is dragged further inside.
“R-Rikka, isn’t this bad for Mergin? Dad was really angry.”
“Even so, I can’t stop Dad when he’s like that.”
After Mergin was taken away, a young man appeared.
“Hey, sis.”
“Rock, where did Dad take Mergin?”
“Is that the black-haired guy Dad is grabbing by the neck?”
“Yeah.”
“He went into the workshop. We were chased out.”
“What?!”
Rikka’s father, Grumman, never lets anyone but craftsmen into the workshop, especially not a man he just met.
Bang Clank
Dad forcefully shuts the workshop door and locks it.
“What’s going on? Did he say something that made you that angry?”
“No, you know what kind of scale that is, don’t you?”
“Like I said, it’s from a big lizard.”
“What kind of one?”
“One that’s about this big.”
Mergin explains while drawing a picture.
“How do you know that?”
