The Green Tea Supporting Girl Is Still Playing Her Role Today (GL) - Chapter 11
Chapter 11
The company’s atmosphere was somewhat quiet early in the morning, and this quietness carried a silent surge of tension.
Today, Ms. Xie was coming to inspect this branch office.
Although they rarely saw her more than once or twice a year, everyone put in their utmost effort, fearing that she would find problems in their department during the inspection, which would be greatly embarrassing and might even cost them their jobs.
“Has she arrived yet?” Lin Zhimin asked for the thirteenth time, occasionally poking her head out from her workstation to glance outside, wanting to slack off but afraid of getting caught, with anxiety creeping onto her forehead.
She turned her head toward Wen Pinghan, who was packing her things, and felt a pang of sadness: “You’re moving your stuff so soon?”
“Yes, they told me to move over this morning,” Wen Pinghan said.
Yesterday, because of Wu Fangda’s incident, the promotion announcement came a bit late, and it was only last night after she returned home that she received the HR notice asking her to move to the new office in the morning.
This morning, the notice board also announced her promotion to market manager, but many people focused more on Ms. Xie’s inspection, so they overlooked it, and only a few close colleagues congratulated her.
“Are these coffees from you?” Wen Pinghan asked, picking up five or six cups of coffee on her desk, each with a sticky note saying things like “Congratulations” or “Keep it up,” all in different handwriting.
“No, not from me,” Lin Zhimin said.
“What about this little doll?” Wen Pinghan asked, holding up a panda figurine.
“Not from me either,” Lin Zhimin said with a smile. “Could it be someone sent it anonymously?”
“Is today some kind of holiday? Why are they giving me these?” Wen Pinghan asked, puzzled.
“Because of your bravery,” Lin Zhimin said with a soft laugh.
Wen Pinghan’s eyes flickered slightly, and she glanced at her, smiled, and didn’t press further about who secretly sent her the gifts, putting the doll away and handing out the extra coffees to nearby colleagues: “If I drank all these by myself, I wouldn’t sleep for a week. Help me share the load.”
After Lin Zhimin took a coffee, she noticed Wen Pinghan kept two cups and was typing on her phone, curiously asking, “Can you finish two cups?”
“Yes,” Wen Pinghan said.
At the same time, Wen Pinghan sent a WeChat message: [Coffee, want one?]
There was no reply from the other side for a while.
Lin Zhimin suddenly shouted to her colleagues, “Ms. Xie is here! Sit properly!”
“How do you know?” Wen Pinghan asked.
“It’s in the group chat,” Lin Zhimin said. She was part of a pantry gossip group that included gossip enthusiasts from several departments, so they shared news the fastest.
Alright, it seemed the other person was busy with work. Wen Pinghan turned around, handed the extra coffee to a colleague behind her, and then, under Lin Zhimin’s puzzled gaze, picked up her box and moved to her new office.

Top-floor office.
Xie Hongxu, who had just flown back from abroad last night, sat upright in his chair, sending all his secretaries outside, leaving only his only daughter.
“About Wu Fangda’s matter, tell me the details again,” Xie Hongxu said.
Xie Zhifei recounted the incident from start to finish and showed him the photo evidence. Xie Hongxu’s tightly furrowed brow relaxed slightly but not completely.
“You know there’s a multinational project recently that he needed to follow up on, right?” Xie Hongxu asked.
“Yes, I know,” Xie Zhifei said.
“And you still sent him to ‘drink tea’ at this time?” Xie Hongxu asked.
“He chose to cause trouble at this time,” Xie Zhifei said.
“Did it have to blow up this big? Couldn’t it have been handled discreetly?” Xie Hongxu asked.
Xie Zhifei raised an eyebrow: “What if I said he looked at me with a lecherous gaze?”
“He dared!” Xie Hongxu slammed the table, his nostrils flaring with anger.
Xie Zhifei laughed: “He only stared at me, and you’re already this angry. Imagine how much angrier the victim’s parents must be?”
Xie Hongxu snorted, and after a while, he said, “I understand the reasoning, but now that he’s out, who will take charge of this project? Can we find someone to replace him immediately?”
Xie Zhifei blinked slowly: “Me.”
“You?” Xie Hongxu laughed. “Don’t I know your capabilities?”
Not to mention anything else, even her degree was something he paid a fortune to polish for her. He sent her to this branch partly to keep her away from the shareholders’ scrutiny and partly because the team here was already experienced, capable of handling small matters independently and reporting big matters to him for decisions.
But who would’ve thought that just a few days into her role, this girl sent the team leader to detention?
“Dad, have some faith in your daughter,” Xie Zhifei said with a smile.
“I have too much faith in you—faith that you can’t do it,” Xie Hongxu said.
“Dad, Daddy~” Xie Zhifei coaxed, tugging his arm. “If you’re worried, I can report every step of the plan to you and let you supervise the whole process. How’s that?”
How’s that? What else could he do if it wasn’t okay?
After discussing these matters, Xie Zhifei accompanied him to inspect each department, marking her first real meeting with the employees.
Every time they entered a department, they heard a wave of welcoming voices, and many people looked at her with awe-struck gazes.
Xie Hongxu suddenly felt that Wu Fangda wasn’t the only one with a lecherous gaze!
“Baby…” Xie Hongxu said as they entered the elevator, warning her, “If anyone dares to have improper intentions toward you, fire them on the spot, got it?”
“Got it,” Xie Zhifei said with a laugh.
“Ms. Xie, General Manager Xie, this is the market managers’ office,” the secretary said, leading them through the door. The floor-to-ceiling windows lined a row of private offices where managers were busy working, and a senior manager introduced them.
As they passed one office, Xie Hongxu noticed his daughter pause briefly. He followed her gaze and saw a young woman inside, with a refined and approachable appearance, and casually asked, “How old is this young lady?”
The manager giving the introduction froze, caught off guard by the question, and was about to go ask when a clear, bright voice answered, “Twenty-eight.”
Both the manager and Xie Hongxu turned to the voice’s owner. Xie Hongxu asked, “Do you know each other?”
Xie Zhifei didn’t answer directly, instead saying, “Her work ability stands out quite a bit.”
Xie Hongxu gave Wen Pinghan another look before continuing forward.
Wen Pinghan lifted her head from her computer, meeting a pair of bright eyes. The next second, the other person winked at her.
Wen Pinghan: “…”
After the two big bosses left, she looked back at her screen, the corner of her mouth curling up unconsciously.
At the end of the workday, she picked up her phone and saw that someone had finally replied to her message.
[Xie Zhifei]: Drink!
[Wen Pinghan]: It’s gone.
[Xie Zhifei]: How could you do this QAQ
[Wen Pinghan]: What do you want to drink?
[Xie Zhifei]: Handsome Boy Milk.
[Wen Pinghan]: Anything else?
[Xie Zhifei]: Q.Q Candy.
Wen Pinghan: “…”
This young lady was unexpectedly frugal.
