The Green Tea Supporting Girl Is Still Playing Her Role Today (GL) - Extra 4

In the season when spring warmed the air and flowers bloomed, Wen Pinghan’s work finally stabilized. She planned to cook a big meal over the weekend to feed the hardworking Xie Zhifei.
But Xie Zhifei had urgent business that took her abroad on a trip, so she had to go to the Xie residence instead to keep Xie Hongxu company.
Wang Wan, who lived nearby, found out and came over to mooch a meal. She seemed very busy, though, with her phone never leaving her hand. One moment she frowned in thought, the next she sneaked a laugh or a squeal.
“Are you in a relationship?” Wen Pinghan asked.
“No, why do you ask that?” Wang Wan immediately put away her phone and hid it so she could not peek.
“You’re being so sneaky. Are you sure you’re not in a relationship?”
Wang Wan said, “I’m really not. Don’t worry. When I do start dating, I’ll definitely tell you all about it. I’ll be showing it off left and right. Why would I hide it?”
“Then who are you chatting with?” Wen Pinghan asked curiously.
“Sister Shu, of course.”
“Didn’t she go on the trip with Afei? Does she still have time to chat with you?” Wen Pinghan asked.
“Yeah, she’s just the secretary, and she does not have as much work as Xie Zhifei,” Wang Wan said.
Wen Pinghan nodded and turned to call Xie Zhifei, but the other side did not pick up. She must have been busy.
When she turned back, she saw Wang Wan and Xie Hongxu huddled together whispering. She laughed and said, “What are you two talking about?”
“Nothing much, just asking about Little Wang’s love life,” Xie Hongxu said cheerfully.
“Yes, yes,” Wang Wan nodded vigorously.
Wen Pinghan sat down beside them to chat idly. She opened her Moments and saw a photo of foreign scenery that Zhao Xiaojing had posted. She said in surprise, “Did Xiaojing go abroad for a trip?”
“No, it’s work. She took on a job to organize an event over there,” Wang Wan said.
“Oh, like that.” Wen Pinghan scrolled down a bit more and saw a post from Zhang Changsheng with some reading insights, paired with a photo of the seaside. She could not help but sigh, “Changsheng has been in a good state lately.”
“Yes, she just sent her travelogues from the past few years to the publisher a while ago. They should be out soon,” Wang Wan said.
“That’s really great.” Wen Pinghan felt genuinely happy for her. After a pause, she said, “How do you know so much about their recent situations?”
“From chatting,” Wang Wan said as she waved her phone.
“Aren’t we all in the same group? Why haven’t I seen these messages?” Wen Pinghan posed the soul-searching question. “Do you all have another group behind my back?”
Wang Wan’s face changed slightly at once. She looked away awkwardly and said on the spur of the moment, “Private chats. We just private chatted.”
Wen Pinghan did not press further. What if she confirmed that they really had another group in private? Then she would be the heartbroken little clown.
After dinner, Wen Pinghan prepared to go home when she suddenly received an urgent call from Xie Zhifei.
“Sister, there’s a bit of a problem here, and I need your help. Come over right away.”
“What problem?” Wen Pinghan asked quickly. “Do I need to prepare any documents?”
“I have all the documents here. Just bring all your own identification, and come quickly.”
With that, the other side hung up. Wen Pinghan hurried to open the app to book a ticket, but the earliest flight would not be until tomorrow morning. She could not help feeling a bit anxious.
“It’s fine. Take my plane over,” Xie Hongxu said.
Wen Pinghan looked at him in surprise.
He stayed so low-key that she only learned now that Xie Hongxu even had a private plane.
“Then can I hitch a ride too? I want to go find Sister Shu and hang out,” Wang Wan said quickly.
“No problem. Let’s go together,” Xie Hongxu said with a wave of his hand as he hurried to arrange the plane.
The three took off in the middle of the night and arrived at Xie Zhifei’s location the next morning.
After landing, Wen Pinghan saw Fang Ningshu, who had come to pick them up. She asked quickly, “What exactly happened?”
“It’s not convenient to say here. You should go find her first and then she’ll tell you,” Fang Ningshu said. Her expression looked a bit grave.
“You two go ahead on your own. I have other things to handle. Call me if there’s a problem,” Xie Hongxu said.
Wen Pinghan nodded and got into the car with Wang Wan.
It was a seaside island where sunlight and beaches stretched together, a sight that refreshed the spirit. Wang Wan admired the scenery outside with excitement. “Wow, wow, wow! This is my first time here. The views are so beautiful. How did you all find this place?”
Wen Pinghan said, “Isn’t it because the client is here?”
Wang Wan choked a bit, then looked up at the rearview mirror. Sure enough, she caught Fang Ningshu’s gaze. She smiled sheepishly and said, “Yeah, I wonder which client it is that gets to live in such a beautiful place. What do you think, Wen Pinghan?”
“Uh…” Wen Pinghan responded perfunctorily. Faced with such beautiful scenery, she had no mind at all to appreciate it. Her head was full of Xie Zhifei, and she worried about what exactly had happened to her to make her call her over so urgently, even mobilizing Xie Hongxu’s private plane.
The more she thought, the more scared she grew. Could it be that…
“Fang Ningshu, tell me honestly. Did she get hurt?” Wen Pinghan asked, forcing herself to stay calm.
Fang Ningshu said, “No.”
“Then what exactly happened to her?”
“You’ll know when you see her in person shortly. I cannot explain it clearly in a short time.”
The more she could not get an answer, the more worried Wen Pinghan became.
The car finally stopped in front of a vacation villa, and Xie Zhifei stood right at the front door. Wen Pinghan hurried to unbuckle her seatbelt, got out, and rushed straight to her. With a face full of worry, she asked, “What exactly happened?”
“A big problem!” Xie Zhifei said with an exaggerated expression.
“…” Wen Pinghan took one look at her like that and knew nothing major had happened. Only then did she relax. “So do you still need me to do anything?”
“Yes, come with me.” Xie Zhifei took her hand and led her inside.
As soon as they entered the living room, Wen Pinghan saw Zhao Xiaojing lying on the sofa with her legs propped up, scrolling through an iPad.
“Hi.” Zhao Xiaojing spared a moment to wave at her, then lowered her head and went back to playing.
“Hi…” Wen Pinghan wondered why she was there too when Xie Zhifei took her straight upstairs to the second floor.
“There’s a document that needs your signature,” Xie Zhifei said.
“What document requires my signature?”
Wen Pinghan watched as she picked up a document from the table and opened it curiously. In an instant, she froze.
In the middle of the document, a ring sat clipped there.
Unlike the couple’s rings on their hands, it was a more formal diamond ring that sparkled brightly.
Wen Pinghan raised her eyes in surprise.
“Read the document carefully before you sign,” Xie Zhifei said with a beaming smile.
Wen Pinghan looked down at the document again. It said “Proposal Consent Form.”
—Miss Wen, are you willing to marry Party A and stay with her through thick and thin?
Party A signature: Xie Zhifei.
At that moment, someone handed over a pen from the side. Wen Pinghan raised her eyes to look at the person who seemed so expectant yet a bit nervous. Without the slightest hesitation, she signed her full name in the space for Party B. Then she closed the document and handed it back. She extended her hand to Xie Zhifei, who wore a face full of smiles. “I’ll have to rely on you from now on.”
“Okay.” The corners of Xie Zhifei’s mouth curved upward wildly. She put the ring on her finger and opened her arms to hug her tightly.
At that moment, applause came from the doorway. Wen Pinghan turned her head and saw Zhao Xiaojing, Wang Wan, and Fang Ningshu poking their heads in from the door. She asked, “Did you all know about this already?”
Wang Wan stood up straight at once, laughed, and ran in. She clipped a veil onto her head and said, “Yeah, they came over first to set up the scene, and I was responsible for keeping you steady. I kept checking in with Sister Shu yesterday about the progress. Good thing I did not give it away!”
Wen Pinghan understood now. She looked at Zhao Xiaojing again and suddenly realized. “So the job you took was—”
“That’s right, it was our Chairman Xie’s proposal ceremony!” Zhao Xiaojing said proudly as she put her hands on her hips. Then she pointed toward the balcony. “Come on, let’s move to the balcony.”
“What is it again?” Wen Pinghan asked Xie Zhifei softly.
“You’ll know when you go,” Xie Zhifei said with a laugh.
The group arrived at the balcony, and the others stepped aside one after another. Wen Pinghan walked out. The balcony was very large, with a three-tiered cake placed in the middle, topped with Q-version figurines of the two of them. All around, fresh flowers decorated it into a garden balcony scene that gave off a warm and romantic vibe under the sunlight. One woman was taking photos.
“Zhang Changsheng?!” Wen Pinghan called out in delighted surprise.
Zhang Changsheng turned around and smiled. “Long time no see. It looks like the proposal succeeded. Congratulations to you both.”
“When did you get here?” Wen Pinghan walked up and asked.
“I arrived yesterday.”
“We prepared all these flowers ourselves!” Zhao Xiaojing came over and said. “Afei said she did not want too many people, that just having us few friends was enough. So we pulled an all-nighter to get it done. How is it? Satisfied?”
“More than satisfied. Thank you all,” Wen Pinghan said. She turned her head to look at Xie Zhifei, her eyes full of smiles.
“By the way, you’ve done the proposal. When are you getting married?” Zhao Xiaojing asked again.
“Oh, a balloon flew away!” Wang Wan jumped up to catch a balloon but could not grab it at all.
Fang Ningshu glanced at the big bundle of balloons in the corner, walked over, and simply released them all.
Wang Wan said, “Wow!”
Everyone looked up at the balloons flying everywhere and laughed. Wen Pinghan held Xie Zhifei’s hand and said softly, “There’s no time like the present. Why not just get married tomorrow?”
“!!!” Xie Zhifei looked at her eyes in utter delight and turned her head to kiss her lips.
Balloons flew across the sky, sunlight reflected light on their faces, friends joked and laughed around them, and the person before her was just right.
Everything was just right.
Zhang Changsheng raised her camera and captured the moment.
