The Heartless Alpha Just Wants to Follow the Plot - Chapter 5
Su Mu was in the middle of bargaining with the system, trying to “sponge” a little pain relief effect, when she froze: “?”
She looked up slightly and saw Si Yu walking over with a treatment device in hand. Her eyes carried a mix of guilt and awkwardness as she said, “Thank you for saving me just now. About before, I was too petty. You’re a good person. I owe you an apology.”
“I’ll heal you. Don’t move.”
Su Mu blinked, puzzled. Why is she apologizing?
The whole mess had started because she didn’t understand the situation, and she’d saved Si Yu because, at the end of the day, the fault was hers. If her mistake had ruined a young woman’s life, she would regret it forever—even if the other person was “just” a character from a script.
But once someone appeared before her eyes, she treated them as a living, breathing person.
So she sat down on the ground, watching Si Yu lower her gaze and treat her injuries with quiet seriousness. Reaching out, she brushed a speck of dirt from Si Yu’s hair and said calmly, “You don’t need to apologize. This happened because of me. If you’d been hurt—or if something irreversible had happened—because of my mistake, I’d spend the rest of my life regretting it, and it still wouldn’t be enough.”
“In fact, I should be the one apologizing. I fought too hard, didn’t realize I was releasing pheromones, and that caused this mess. I’ll be more careful next time.”
Si Yu blinked, lips parting slightly. She opened her mouth as if to say something but closed it again.
They weren’t talking about the same thing at all. Su Mu clearly hadn’t taken to heart how she’d once deliberately pressured Si Yu in acting to embarrass her.
That only made Si Yu feel more like an unreasonable villain. Maybe this person wasn’t as hateful as the industry gossip painted her. Maybe it had all been rumors.
Still, she couldn’t let go of the harsh, disrespectful words Su Mu had said before. She silently resolved to help her out more during filming from now on—as a kind of repayment.
The treatment ended quickly. Su Mu touched her abdomen—no more pain. The bruises on her arm from the fight had also disappeared. A flicker of satisfaction flashed in her eyes.
Medical tech in the interstellar era really is convenient.
Not long after, the matter took a nasty turn online.
[#Shocking! A certain actress actually resorted to such shameless tricks against another top star. Disgraceful!]
Someone had clipped and posted a recording on Star Net. The video had been cut to remove the part where Su Mu saved Si Yu, leaving only the scene where Si Yu suddenly collapsed against her. Then it showed Su Mu pushing her away, followed by Luo Juneng and the action director going berserk. Meanwhile, Su Mu stood off to the side, face flushed, eyes reddened, visibly struggling to hold herself back while staring at Si Yu. The angle was chosen perfectly to capture that “forbidden” tension.
The video ended with Luo Junneng charging at Si Yu, then cutting to Su Mu lunging at her too—both of them looking like they were about to fight.
It had no conclusion, just shaky footage, as if the cameraman had been “accidentally” filming while sneaking around. But the intent was clear: carefully calculated.
Unfortunately, Si Yu’s identity was far from ordinary. She was an S-class Omega and a powerhouse actress with immense online influence. Meanwhile, most of Su Mu’s followers were there for her drama and extravagant lifestyle, not loyalty. Public opinion instantly turned against her, and the story blew up. Everyone demanded the truth.
[I’m so scared. My goddess, she will be okay, right?]
[That looked like a heat period. Did she suddenly go into heat? There’s no way she’d film unprepared! From the video it’s obvious—she only reacted after Su Mu approached. Su Mu must have triggered it. She’s an S-class Alpha, after all!]
[Unforgivable! How could she do that to an Omega? Doesn’t she know how dangerous it is if an unattached Omega goes into heat in public?!]
[I just want to know the truth. Isn’t there more footage? Didn’t the production do anything?]
The video spread like wildfire, shooting to the top of the trending list.
The military immediately contacted the production team. This was an S-class Omega—how could the crew have been so unprepared?
The director, blindsided by calls from both Si Yu’s company and the military, was drenched in cold sweat. He hadn’t even realized anyone had been secretly recording, let alone that it had been uploaded online.
“It’s not like that,” he stammered. “Si Yu was shaken up, but nothing bad happened.”
Si Yu’s manager, Liu Guang, hadn’t come to set. Skeptical, her voice was icy: “I need to see her myself and confirm she’s unharmed. She’s an Omega—you understand the consequences if something had happened. I trusted you with this project because we’ve worked together before and you seemed reliable. I didn’t expect you to let this kind of thing happen. I am furious.”
When Si Yu, supported by her assistant, finally appeared, she already understood what had happened. Keeping her expression calm, she drew a steady breath and nodded at the comms, “I’m fine.”
Her clothes were dirty but intact, her demeanor composed. Nothing looked wrong.
Liu Guang quietly exhaled in relief, though her face remained stern. This incident demanded accountability—otherwise it would set a terrible precedent.
Si Yu told the director softly, “I’ll explain this myself. Please update the military first. As for Star Net, we’ll need to livestream later to clarify everything.”
The director bowed gratefully. “Thank you, thank you. I’ll investigate who leaked the footage immediately and increase security. It was my oversight—any consequences fall on me.”
Su Mu, still sitting on the ground, was offered clean fruit from Jiang Xi, who crouched anxiously beside her. “Are you okay? That was so dangerous just now. Thank goodness you’re all right.”
If it hadn’t been for Su Mu, Si Yu’s career would’ve been over—if not her life. Jiang Xi had been terrified.
Su Mu popped a cherry into her mouth, eyes sweeping over the self-reproachful Wu Zhi and Luo Junneng lying nearby. Her tone was even: “Find out who posted that video. Also, check this location—why were there Zerg here? And why wasn’t the military present to clean up during filming?”
Normally, when Alphas and Omegas filmed at special sites, the military always shadowed them to prevent accidents. The absence of soldiers for this long made Su Mu wonder if something bigger was happening on this planet.
“Understood.”
Jiang Xi rushed off to handle it. Earlier, when she’d gone into town to buy fruit, there hadn’t been any sign of trouble.
Si Yu gave her own version of events, deliberately leaving out that Su Mu’s pheromone leakage had triggered her early heat. Instead, she explained it as an effect of overusing inhibitors.
Liu Guang clearly didn’t believe it, but since Si Yu had taken responsibility, she let it drop.
“You’re really unharmed? No injuries?” she pressed again.
Si Yu shook her head. “I’m fine. Su Mu saved me.”
Liu Guang looked even more dubious. Su Mu? The notorious “vase” of the industry—spoiled, reckless, and self-indulgent—saving Si Yu? That was about as likely as a Zerg asteroid crashing into the Imperial Capital.
“If you’re going to lie, at least make it believable. That woman.” Liu Guang’s disdain was obvious. If not for Su Mu’s powerful background, she would’ve been much harsher.
Si Yu: “…”
“You’ll understand when you see the video. Maybe the rumors about her weren’t true. Spending time with her, I’ve realized she’s not quite like people say.”
Yes, she still had that spoiled attitude—but strangely, it wasn’t as unbearable as imagined.
Oblivious to her shifting reputation, Su Mu removed her wig, dusted herself off, and went to sit nearby, waiting for the fallout.
It didn’t take long to catch the culprit. The set wasn’t large, and though the leaker tried to slip away unnoticed, the director’s quick lockdown caught him immediately.
The paparazzo, desperate for fame, was thrown straight into court and then into prison.
But it didn’t end there. Su Mu and Si Yu’s lawyers arrived almost at once, armed with lawsuits that promised to bury him. His face drained of color as he begged for forgiveness, but no one listened.
Meanwhile, the crew’s PR team scrambled to release a full statement, showing the complete footage and even security recordings.
With the truth out, fans’ outrage shifted to sympathy for Si Yu—and even for Su Mu. People saw how she’d taken on two opponents at once, injured in the process, and still stood firm.
Public perception flipped overnight:
From a spoiled rich girl with a chaotic private life who changed girlfriends like clothes—to a heroic figure who risked herself to save a colleague.
[So Su Mu’s not just buying fake hype after all.]
[I always thought a pampered heiress couldn’t fight, but wow—she held her own against the action director, even bought time for the crew to sedate him. I’ve gone from hater to fan.]
[Those moves, only people in the know realize how skilled she is. The mecha on set were weakened versions, yet she piloted one to defeat a Zerg. Even if it was just one, that’s impressive.]
[She’s amazing. I’m a fan from today onward!]
Watching the chaos unfold, Su Mu refreshed her Star Net page. Her three million followers had surged to over five million in an instant.
Su Mu: “…”
This wasn’t the outcome she wanted.
The system sighed wordlessly:
[Host, did you sneak off and grab the wrong script? We weren’t supposed to be on a “hero saves the beauty” path.]
Su Mu:
[Don’t ask. I honestly don’t know either.]
Who could’ve predicted that one instinctive act would completely overturn the original’s reputation?
