- The Lady Who Was Rejected with 'I Love Someone Else' Turned Out to Be the Strongest Sorceress – The Fate of the Prince Who Abandoned Her and the Lady Who Found Freedom
- Episode 20 - A Sweet Moment (Vanessa’s Perspective)
I’ve been able to spend more time with Prince Alfred freely. But it seems I’m still not officially recognized as his fiancée. Apparently, there are various procedures that need to be completed.
Just like the time it took for the annulment process, a new engagement also requires various procedures. How bothersome. If only they would just recognize me quickly.
But the fact that we no longer have to meet in secret like before is a big step forward. I visit Prince Alfred’s room almost every day and enjoy spending time with him.
When I head to his room, I can feel the envious gazes from those around me. Every time I walk through the castle or palace, I’m enveloped in an indescribable sense of satisfaction. This is all thanks to Prince Alfred choosing me.
“Vanessa, I’ve been waiting for you to come.”
When I entered Alfred’s room, he was sitting on the sofa waiting for me. When he smiled gently, my heart danced.
“Alfred-sama, I’m sorry for making you wait.”
I sit next to Prince Alfred and lean into his arm. He gently places his hand on my cheek and strokes it softly.
“You are truly beautiful. You are the most beautiful woman in the world.”
“Alfred, you are the most handsome of them all. I love you so much.”
Exchanging sweet words, we gaze into each other’s eyes. As if there were only the two of us in this world.
Flirting with Prince Alfred is really fun. Our conversations are so comfortable, and I love how he gives me compliments. And then, venting about my ex-fiancé feels so good.
“I wish I had been informed in advance that Eleanor could master such powerful magic.”
Prince Alfred shakes his head with a puzzled expression.
“I didn’t know either. That Eleanor was hiding such power. I only found out about it when you told me.”
He furrows his brows and continues speaking with dissatisfaction. There is no lie in that expression. Their relationship with that woman was that shallow, huh? That’s something to be happy about.
“Seriously, she was hiding her powers. I didn’t think she would keep it a secret from me too. I didn’t expect her to be such a cowardly woman. I caused you trouble too, didn’t I?”
I nod in agreement as well.
“That’s right! If I had known beforehand, it wouldn’t have ended up like that. It’s all because Eleanor was hiding it.”
I spit out words without hiding my resentment.
“That woman, hiding her power all this time and now flaunting it, it’s unforgivable!”
Prince Alfred, like me, also shows his anger openly.
“Because of Eleanor, it’s like we’re being manipulated. She was deceiving us.”
“That’s right. It’s as if we were made fools of. We were used by that woman without knowing her true nature. I can’t forgive that.”
But Eleanor is just a pitiful woman who lost her position. Recently, she seems desperate to gain popularity in various ways. I was a bit flustered when it was revealed how capable she is, but that’s it. Now that she’s lost her position as the prince’s fiancée, I just want her to stay quiet.
Right now, she’s increasing her servants under the appearance of friends and teaching them magic. She seems desperate to regain her lost position. She might be thinking that by increasing her allies, she can somehow manage it. But it’s already impossible for her to reclaim the throne of the queen.
What Prince Alfred has clearly denied. He said it’s impossible to rekindle their relationship. Hearing those words, I feel relieved.
From now on, I need to slowly prepare to confidently take the throne as queen. Whether it’s improving my magical skills or learning royal etiquette, everything is to become a queen.
