- Chapter 6 - The Cheating Main God, Qin's
As soon as his words fell, a white curtain of light appeared before him. Mo Chen stared at it, eyes widening instantly, his expression stunned.
On the light screen, under the section of traversable story worlds, there was only a single lonely entry from the Jin Yong series — The Sword of the Yue Maiden. It flickered faintly with golden light, while everything else was completely blank.
In the exchangeable items section, there was also just a single entry: Heaven-Sundering Sword Art. All the countless rare treasures and miraculous martial techniques that once made people drool had vanished without a trace.
“What the hell is this?” Mo Chen froze for a moment, then his face darkened at once. He looked at the Main God with frustration and anger.
This wasn’t funny at all! Only one exchangeable item — Heaven-Sundering Sword Art — and only one traversable world — The Sword of the Yue Maiden? What damn use was that?!
With his current cultivation at the Innate Peak realm, he was already an invincible existence in that low-martial world. There wasn’t even any worthwhile technique or resource there to plunder!
“The Main God has shattered. Most of its resources have already disappeared. Unable to search other worlds. Exchange items require further database repair. Due to extreme weakness, the Main God cannot interfere with the timeline of the Jin Yong worlds, therefore traversal can only begin with The Sword of the Yue Maiden. The Main God has already used its final trace of power to replace the executor’s identity in this world.” The Main God’s voice was weak.
Hearing this, Mo Chen’s heart instantly turned cold. What use was a Main God like this?! Even if traversal across all Jin Yong worlds were possible, with his cultivation at Innate Peak, he was nearly unmatched in every era. Was he supposed to just go around showing off?
Sure, Innate Peak was impressive in a Jin Yong setting, but in a larger multiverse? Useless. In Valoran, for instance, that would only equate to a Tier 2 warrior — laughably weak. In a proper xianxia world, that was barely entry-level cultivation!
He looked at the dim, fading light of the Main God, lips opening and closing, unsure what to even say. After all, the Main God had spent its last shred of power to arrange an identity for him in this new world.
“How long will it take for the Main God to regain the ability to search other worlds?” Mo Chen asked after a long silence.
“Unknowable. For a low-level world like The Sword of the Yue Maiden, a full conquest of ten such worlds is required for the Main God to partially restore its searching function. However, the search results will remain uncertain, and even if another world is located, there is no guarantee of breaching its barrier.” The Main God spoke honestly.
But in Mo Chen’s ears, it was as if he had been thrown into an arctic wasteland, his whole body freezing to the bone. Ten worlds? Was he supposed to clear all the Jin Yong worlds one by one?!
And even then — “uncertain results”? How the hell was this supposed to be fun anymore?
“Isn’t there any other way?” Mo Chen asked, unwilling to accept this.
“If the executor can fully conquer the Valoran world, a small portion of the Main God’s functions could be restored,” it replied.
“Ahem. Let’s… stick to talking about the Jin Yong worlds.” Mo Chen coughed awkwardly, embarrassed. Conquering Valoran? That was a joke. With his current power, he was just a glorified minion there. That was basically a hell-difficulty dungeon!
After a moment of thought, Mo Chen asked seriously: “Main God, when you say ‘conquer a story world,’ what exactly does that mean?”
Although the Main God had spoken of conquering, the actual method was still a huge question.
“To completely change the plot of a world is considered a full conquest. The executor need not worry. Upon entering a story world, the Main God will provide corresponding mission guidance. These missions have neither punishment nor reward,” the Main God replied.
At first, hearing there was no punishment, Mo Chen looked satisfied. But as soon as he heard there was no reward either, his face darkened again. “Main God, you’re too stingy. You’re even withholding my meager rewards?”
“The executor is the Main God itself, and can freely dispose of all gains,” it said slowly.
Mo Chen froze, then broke into a smile. That didn’t sound too bad. But when he remembered the empty exchange list, his expression soured again. Even if he had control of all gains, what good was that with nothing to trade for?!
“There has to be a way. There has to be.” Mo Chen paced back and forth, face grim, searching for a way to break the deadlock.
“View Heaven-Sundering Sword Art,” he suddenly commanded, eyes bloodshot as he glared at the Main God, breathing heavily.
The screen displayed: Heaven-Sundering Sword Art, originating from the world of Wandering the Vast Wilderness, one of the Twelve Great Qin Secret Techniques, capable at its peak of achieving the realm of Great Luo Immortal.
“Great Luo Immortal…” A smile flickered across Mo Chen’s face. The Main God wasn’t completely useless after all. A cultivation technique that pointed directly toward immortality — this could work. His plans had just gained some traction.
Lowering his head, Mo Chen pulled out a small, simple-looking azure pouch from his robe. It was a storage pouch from a cultivation world — the lowest grade, with only about ten cubic meters of space. Even so, it had cost him nearly all his savings. Inside was everything he’d ever earned in the reincarnation space.
He stroked the pouch, sighed, and slowly opened it.
Inside lay an assortment of items — gold, jewels, clothes, food, and water. Food and water took up most of the space. There were dozens of sets of clothing: ancient robes, modern casual wear. Beside them lay two red wooden chests. One small, about a foot long, labeled Beginner’s Essential Skillbook Collection for World Travelers.
The other, much larger — about three feet across — was sealed with paper talismans, labeled: Complete Collector’s Edition of Martial Arts Manuals from Jin Yong, Gu Long, and Huang Yi’s Worlds.
“When I bought you, it was just for keepsake. Never thought you’d actually be useful now.” Mo Chen lifted the large chest from the pouch, touching it with a bitter smile.
In the reincarnation space, the cheapest thing you could ever buy was a martial arts manual from a wuxia world. Because they could be copied infinitely, and their power level was inherently limited, they were practically worthless.
This massive chest — containing every technique from Jin Yong, Gu Long, and Huang Yi’s works — had cost him a mere hundred reincarnation points.
In the grand multiverse, such manuals were laughably weak. A single divine ability from a true high-fantasy world would outclass these hundreds of times over.
And since these manuals hadn’t been exchanged directly from the Main God, each one would require painstaking self-cultivation, making them little more than collector’s items to most.
Mo Chen’s eyes gleamed strangely as he caressed the chest. If he couldn’t search for higher worlds, then he’d cultivate one himself!
The Sword of the Yue Maiden was set over a thousand years before Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils. If he scattered these manuals within that era, who knew what dazzling blossoms and wondrous fruits might grow a millennium later?
With these resources, he believed that in a thousand years, the Jin Yong universe could be pushed into becoming a high-martial world. If not full xianxia, then at least something far stronger than its original.
“Main God, scan these manuals, record them into your system, and also exchange Heaven-Sundering Sword Art.” Mo Chen resolved firmly. If he couldn’t reach higher worlds, then he would nurture one worth harvesting.
As he spoke, the Main God emitted a weak white beam that enveloped the chest. Slowly, the chest dissolved into countless glowing motes that were absorbed into the Main God.
Immediately afterward, a brilliant white light enveloped Mo Chen. He felt as if he had sunk into a hot spring, his entire body warm and comfortable. Inside him, his true qi began circulating along a profound new path.
At the same time, an immense sword appeared in his mind. An ancient bronze sword, standing in the void, connecting heaven and earth. It radiated an awe-inspiring pressure, as if a mere swing could cleave heaven and earth apart and shatter fate itself.
Within the room, sword qi began to swirl around Mo Chen, invisible but razor-sharp, silently cutting through the void. A single glance would make anyone’s heart tremble with cold fear.
As time passed, a hazy aura bloomed above his head, within which three exquisite lotus buds faintly swayed.
After a while, Mo Chen opened his eyes. Twin beams of sword light shot out, tearing the air with a shrill screech.
“As expected of a high-level cultivation method. Though still at Innate Peak, compared to before, I’m immeasurably stronger.” Mo Chen stretched out his hand, pale and smooth like white jade. On it flickered silver-white sword qi, sharp and terrifying.
He could feel it clearly: with a single strike, he could now kill his former self. Though both versions were at Innate Peak, the gap between them was beyond comprehension.
Three Flowers Gathering at the Crown — the true limit of the Innate Realm. Unfortunately, with the Main God so weakened, it could no longer assist in actual cultivation. This method was his to comprehend alone.
“Main God, open the world of The Sword of the Yue Maiden.” Mo Chen said calmly, feeling the new power coursing through him, as well as the profound insights of the Heaven-Sundering Sword Art in his mind.
Life, he mused, was like being assaulted. If you couldn’t resist, you might as well enjoy it. The Sword of the Yue Maiden might be weak in martial power, but at least it had its charms. Meeting the famed beauty Xi Shi, one of the Four Great Beauties of history, wasn’t the worst fate.
He might as well treat it like a vacation.
“The Sword of the Yue Maiden world initiated. Transmission beginning.”
The Main God’s voice fell as a white beam enveloped Mo Chen. Immediately, an overwhelming pressure crashed down on him, making his head grow dizzy.
“Transmission error. Collision and fusion detected between The Sword of the Yue Maiden and another world. Identified: Qin’s Moon (The Legend of Qin). Transmission time deviation detected. Transmission location deviation detected.”
The white light fluctuated violently. In his last moment of consciousness, Mo Chen heard the Main God’s words, and he nearly wished he could cut it to pieces.
As expected — a “three-no” product (no warranty, no reliability, no quality assurance) could never be trusted.
