The Lost Lamb's Trap - Chapter 19
Chapter 19: Stars
Lin Ke was too smart. She saw all of Duan Jiayang’s small details. Duan Jiayang was hiding a secret excitement inside. This kiss made her realize that Lin Ke was still as stubborn and persistent as before. She was still her. Duan Jiayang felt a strange excitement, and her heart rate was out of control. Even though she tried her best to control it, when the kiss came down, she felt weak and panted limply.
Lin Ke pinched the back of her neck and pulled her to her own burning lips. Duan Jiayang grabbed her waist and resisted.
Something was very wrong. Lin Ke seemed like she was going to devour her. Her fingers rubbed the back of her neck fiercely, trying to find an opening other than her lips to force all her breath into her body.
All of Duan Jiayang’s unwillingness surged into her teeth. She bit down hard. Any person would feel the pain. Duan Jiayang was glad that she could feel the pain. Lin Ke paused for a moment. Her mouth was filled with the taste of bl00d, and the smell of the bl00d settled into her body as she breathed and swallowed.
Lin Ke looked up. There was a trickle of bl00d on the left side of her lower lip. Her cheeks were slightly red. She didn’t feel annoyed or regretful. She propped her hands on both sides of the seat, enclosing her prey in her arms. Her lips moved, about to speak. Duan Jiayang was breathing rapidly and raised her hand, slapping her face again.
She was still her. Stubborn. She liked to force her. If she didn’t want to kiss, she would pinch her neck and make her.
Damn it.
Duan Jiayang gritted her teeth angrily and retreated. She didn’t hit Lin Ke because of the kiss, but because Lin Ke had stirred up the restless desire hidden in her heart.
“Stay away from me.”
“Okay.” Lin Ke looked at her.
They looked at each other at close range. Lin Ke’s eyes were moist and beautiful, with a look of satisfied happiness. She licked the bl00d. It hurt.
Duan Jiayang’s hand was numb. “Serves you right. Now your face is symmetrical.”
Lin Ke wasn’t angry. She leaned over her and asked, “Then can I kiss you again?”
At this moment, her cheeks were like they were covered in blush, a bright red. As time passed, the marks from the slap became very obvious.
Duan Jiayang was almost laughing from anger. “Who said so?”
Lin Ke straightened her body. She curled her fingers and stroked Duan Jiayang’s cheek. Duan Jiayang turned her head away fiercely. Lin Ke placed her palm on her cheek.
“If you want to hit me, then hit me.” Don’t torture me like this.
Duan Jiayang raised her head and slapped her.
The rain outside was like a waterfall. She couldn’t see if there were any people outside. She only knew that the rain falling on her side was cold. Even though she had been pressed down by Lin Ke just now, her legs were still wet from the rain.
Lin Ke’s shoulder was half-soaked. Her eyes were fixed on Duan Jiayang. She didn’t move. She said, “You responded to me just now.”
“You’re crazy. You’re overthinking it.”
“Little Lamb.”
The name “Lin Ke” was stuck in Duan Jiayang’s throat. They were just exposing each other’s flaws, finding fault with each other to cover up their own awkwardness. Duan Jiayang was at a disadvantage. Every time she called Lin Ke’s name, it would provoke her.
Lin Ke held her hands and lifted them above her head. Duan Jiayang completely became a lamb waiting to be slaughtered and couldn’t move. Lin Ke leaned down slightly, with a strong sense of invasion. “Little Lamb, I am crazy. What can you do about it?”
Lin Ke was about to kiss her again. Duan Jiayang couldn’t move her hands. She pushed her with all her might. Her body fell backward, and her feet scraped the floor twice. Lin Ke straightened her again, as if she was enjoying her hopeless struggle.
Duan Jiayang stared at her. Lin Ke held her face straight, lowered her head, and bumped her head against hers. Duan Jiayang didn’t know what was happening. Lin Ke spoke to her, her breath hot. “Get used to me. We’ll be like this often from now on.”
Duan Jiayang’s body was tense, and her toes were tightly curled. Lin Ke didn’t force her again and turned around. Duan Jiayang immediately pulled her skirt down, ready to rush out at any moment. Lin Ke turned her head and looked at her. She just closed the car door.
The space inside the car became even narrower. Duan Jiayang’s posture for escaping was too obvious. Duan Jiayang looked at her, with panic in her eyes. Lin Ke bent over and got closer. This time, she sat on the seat and pulled Duan Jiayang over.
Duan Jiayang shrank back, looking at her warily. Lin Ke made her sit on her lap. She didn’t have a burly physique; her figure was slender, and her fair face had thin lips. Her gaze was more gentle and affectionate than anyone else’s, but every single part of her made Duan Jiayang afraid.
She was restraining Duan Jiayang, and she was attached to her warmth.
“Little Lamb.”
Duan Jiayang’s lips were bitten and it hurt. She scoffed, competing with her. “You’re good at pretending. You pretend to be nice to me and care about me, but in reality, aren’t you just like those people? You greet me and care about me, but in reality… you bit me mercilessly…”
“Do you want to hear the truth?”
“Yes, I did it on purpose,” Lin Ke said, leaning against the seat, jealously and maliciously. “I just wanted to bite your lip and let Lan Yao see that you’re on a blind date with her, but your lips are mine. You are mine.”
As she spoke, she stared into Duan Jiayang’s eyes. Duan Jiayang’s gaze avoided her, and she desperately wanted to get away from her. Lin Ke was too smart. She straightened her so that she would look her in the eyes. She let her finger lightly brush her lips. “Does it hurt?”
Her mouth was a mess from being bitten, but the pain on her lips was very faint. It was numb from being bitten. At this moment, it felt like it had a pulse and was beating strongly. Lin Ke’s mouth wasn’t in good shape either. Her lower lip was slightly swollen, and bl00d was seeping from under the skin. Both of them looked miserable, vulgar, and sexy.
The thick rain outside was falling chaotically. Lin Ke let go and went to the driver’s seat to start the car. Duan Jiayang slumped in the chair, panting. The kiss just now had made her eyes red. The familiar pleasure from before came in waves. She covered her face with her hand. It was obvious that this was Lin Ke’s first time here too. The car drove down a few dead ends and drove around the alley before finally finding a pharmacy.
Lin Ke held the umbrella from the center console and went in. She didn’t know what she said to the shopkeeper. She came out with an ointment, the same size as a lip balm. She wasn’t in a hurry to get into the car. The wind outside was blowing hard on her. Even though the summer rain and wind were big and wild, they still carried the heat of the sun and weren’t cold at all.
Lin Ke put out the umbrella and handed the ointment through the car window. Duan Jiayang threw the ointment onto the passenger seat next to her. She bent down and picked up her phone. It was indeed a call from the luxury brand store. She hadn’t answered it, so they had sent her a message, asking if she wanted to pick up the clothes herself or have them delivered to her home.
Lin Ke said, “The ointment. Put it on your lips.”
Duan Jiayang didn’t move. She had never seen anyone put on ointment after biting their lips from a kiss.
She stubbornly turned her head away, not looking at Lin Ke.
Lin Ke said, “Hmm… that’s good too. It has my mark on it.”
Duan Jiayang picked up the ointment, almost crushing it.
The rain didn’t stop. Duan Jiayang sat in the back seat and saw her reflection on the car window, seeing her broken and swollen lips.
She licked it. It hurt, and she could feel the heat on it.
Maybe the rain was falling too hard. The sound of it falling became silent and muffled at this moment. Duan Jiayang felt a strong sense of destiny.
“Where are you going?” she asked.
“Home.” Duan Jiayang glared at her.
Lin Ke parked the car in front of a restaurant.
It was raining, and the restaurant was full. Her car stopped, and it looked like she was going to take Duan Jiayang inside. She didn’t move. “There are no tables. Why would I go in?”
Lin Ke was still stubborn. She opened the car door and stood in the rain with her umbrella. Duan Jiayang, unable to bear it, got out. Lin Ke smiled and held the black umbrella over her head.
Not to mention the atmosphere, when she saw “Sweet Love” on the sign, she immediately understood. It was a couple’s restaurant. Duan Jiayang clenched her hands, turned her head, and really wanted to leave. A waiter from the restaurant came out and said, “Miss Lin, please come in.”
Lin Ke held her hand and led her inside. It seemed that she had booked a table early and was just waiting for Duan Jiayang to come with her.
Duan Jiayang lightly bit her lower lip to prevent the people in the restaurant from seeing the injury on her lips.
When they got to the private room upstairs, the rain outside hadn’t let up. It was so intense that they couldn’t hear the sound of the rain. Lin Ke looked at the menu and ordered two dishes. She asked, “What do you want to eat?”
Duan Jiayang didn’t say anything.
“Then I’ll order the dishes you usually like.”
Duan Jiayang looked at her. She had never eaten at this restaurant before. Lin Ke said, “I used to learn how to cook at this restaurant.”
After she ordered the dishes, a man came over. He was very familiar with Lin Ke. He smiled and said, “Do you finally have a companion? We have a new dish today. It’s on me. Have you been waiting for her these past few days?”
Lin Ke’s eyes were on her. Her eyes were sparkling. She wanted her to be curious. She even wanted her to know that she had been waiting for her for a few days.
Duan Jiayang was indeed very curious, but she just didn’t ask. Lin Ke said proactively, “I’ve been waiting here for two days.”
Saturday and Sunday.
Waiting, and wanting to go on a date with her.
The dishes were served. They were indeed very similar to the dishes Lin Ke made.
Duan Jiayang tasted them. The food from this restaurant was decent. It didn’t have an exaggerated taste. She was sharp and could find many differences. All restaurant food had a characteristic of not being home-cooked. It was too different from Lin Ke’s homemade version.
It was just that both of their lips were broken, so they had to be careful when eating.
After dinner, it was 7:30 p.m. Lin Ke’s car drove around the city aimlessly. She would stop in some places, and the two of them would sit in the car silently, looking out the window. If it had been a sunny day, this would have been a great place for a date.
The ferry on the river was lit up, and the Ferris wheel in the city across the river was slowly turning.
They were sitting in the back. Lin Ke was holding her hand. Even though they were confined in the car by the downpour and could only hear the sound of the rain, in the dimly lit car, Lin Ke still had a very contented expression on her face. She held her hand and smiled at the dark, rainy night.
Duan Jiayang’s heart felt soft and numb, with a hint of bitterness. She was pulled out of this state when her phone rang. She tried to pull her hand away several times but couldn’t. She could only use one hand to pick up her phone and look. Duan Litian had sent her a message, asking why she wasn’t home with such heavy rain and where she was.
Duan Jiayang didn’t know if Duan Litian knew about what happened after work. Many people at the company liked to gossip. She tilted her head and looked at the flashing neon lights across the street. She replied with one hand: [Having dinner with He Xiao and the others. I’ll be back later.]
Her dad didn’t reply.
A few minutes later, He Xiao called in a panic. “Jiayang, Jiayang! Where are you? Why did your dad call me and say he couldn’t reach you and that you weren’t home? Where are you? What happened?”
Duan Jiayang had a headache. “…What did you say?”
“I said I was out looking for you!” He Xiao seemed to be looking for an umbrella. Then she paused. “You’re okay. So your dad…”
He was testing her, to see if she was with Lin Ke.
Her dad was truly cunning.
Lin Ke next to her hadn’t said a word. That was good. But as soon as she opened her mouth, she started to lie, constantly lying, and every step felt like she was falling into a dark abyss.
Lin Ke finally was willing to send her back, but she was reluctant to let go of her hand. She called a designated driver. She was still holding her hand in the car.
Duan Jiayang tried to struggle, but she kept her wrist locked in a tight grip.
“He doesn’t know us,” Lin Ke said. Her fingers squeezed between Duan Jiayang’s fingers, tightly holding her hand. Their hands were intertwined in the gap of the seat. Duan Jiayang turned her head and glared at her. She just had a contented smile on her face.
The rain was hitting the window, and the sound was suppressing her heartbeat.
When the car was almost there, the designated driver in the front reminded them, “Boss, we’re almost there.”
Lin Ke didn’t plan on getting out. “Drive around two more times. I’ll pay you double.”
So the designated driver drove around once, twice, and three times. Duan Jiayang said in a low voice, “Enough, Lin Ke. Don’t keep testing my patience.”
“Know when to stop.”
“Okay.” Lin Ke had the designated driver stop.
The designated driver went to the back to get into the car. He put on a raincoat and a helmet. He secretly glanced at the two people in the car. The atmosphere was ambiguous, but it was also inexplicably strange and disharmonious, like the relationship between a spider web and an insect. It was wrapping around her, taking her life.
“Lin Ke, I was just playing with you back then.” Duan Jiayang didn’t hold back this time. What needed to be said had to be said clearly. “I was just getting revenge on you. I hate your mom and you.”
She hummed. “I know.”
Lin Ke’s eyes lowered slightly. She turned sideways, her expression was somber, but her gaze was very sweet. “But that was the first time someone seriously played with me.”
“And the only time. I said, ‘Play with me,’ and someone knelt in front of me and said, ‘Okay.’ Little Lamb, you responded to me, and my heart was cheering. It’s just that sometimes when I think about how you won’t play with me anymore, I feel very sad.”
Duan Jiayang was speechless. Lin Ke glanced at her lips and asked another question softly. “What will you say when your dad asks what happened to your lips?”
“A lunatic bit me.”
Lin Ke corrected her in a serious manner. “You can’t say a lunatic bit you. You have to say Lin Ke bit you. A lunatic is a lunatic, and Lin Ke is Lin Ke.”
In Duan Jiayang’s shallow understanding, Lin Ke was a lunatic. There was no difference between the two. But Lin Ke seriously distinguished between them and said, “A lunatic can be many people, but Lin Ke is only one person. Me.”
Her hand came over and rested on her jaw. Duan Jiayang raised her hand and slapped it away hard, telling her not to get close.
Lin Ke’s hand was red. She lifted her body, leaned in, and continued to pinch her jaw. She said, “Let me see.”
“Don’t touch me!” Duan Jiayang was still struggling. Lin Ke used a little more force. At this moment, Duan Jiayang couldn’t understand the look in her eyes. There was a bit of affection, but not completely, because she felt heartache for biting her lips, but also excited and appreciative of her work.
She always called her Little Lamb, Little Lamb. She was like a wild dog that had been hungry for a long time. She would grab the back of her neck and eat her until there was nothing left but bones. It had also been so long since she had touched her that it made her feel weak.
Duan Jiayang’s long-dormant heart began to beat wildly again.
A scab had formed on Duan Jiayang’s lips. Lin Ke gently blew on it. She asked, “Are you afraid of your dad?”
Of course she was. Duan Jiayang said stubbornly, “I’m not afraid. Don’t touch me. It’s disgusting to put on ointment.”
She was talking about the ointment. Lin Ke thought she was talking about herself. She said, “It’s good that you’re not afraid. Then I’ll kiss you again.”
The rain fell silently. Lin Ke leaned in again.
“Why are you acting like a dog? Get lost.” This was the harshest thing she had ever said. Lin Ke wasn’t angry. She grabbed her and said, “I’ve been a dog for a long time. My leash has been in your hands for a long time, Jiayang. We are a match made in heaven.”
Duan Jiayang’s breathing was rapid.
“Jiayang… You know it in your heart.”
Lin Ke held her waist and rubbed against her affectionately.
Lin Ke touched her ear, bit it, and then moved to Duan Jiayang’s lips. “Little Lamb… You’re so bored every day. Do you want to continue playing with me? I’m very good…”
Her lips fell. This time, she wasn’t in a hurry. She gave Duan Jiayang enough space to stretch. Her scent enveloped Duan Jiayang’s tired body. Her fingers supported Duan Jiayang’s waist. She gently touched the injury on Duan Jiayang’s lips. After Duan Jiayang had adapted, she relaxed her grip and entered her mouth. She was still unhurried. Her fingers ran through her hair.
Duan Jiayang closed her eyes. Her body felt weak and dense. At this moment, her lips moved toward Lin Ke. Her eyes were slightly closed, and her lips parted lightly. And at this moment, she suddenly pushed Lin Ke away. Lin Ke leaned against the seat. Her breathing was also unsteady. Her red lips were beautiful, as if clear rainwater had hit them, creating a bright watery sheen.
The kiss was long and gentle. Duan Jiayang didn’t know what to do. Her face was flushed, and her breathing was erratic. She pushed the car door open and fled in a state of disarray, running in the rain toward her house without even daring to look back.
Lin Ke’s fingers lightly touched the corner of her lips. She leaned against the chair. The scent of roses was completely gone. The scent of jasmine and grass lingered in the car.
