When the two returned to the mansion, night had just fallen. Jiang Han didn’t eat at the restaurant again but brought the food back. With Gu Hanyun in mind, she carried the food towards Gu Hanyun’s courtyard.
At that moment, Gu Hanyun was lying on the bed, nibbling on a secret stash of snacks while reading a novel. Her legs were propped up, swaying happily. Unexpectedly, she suddenly heard someone coming and quickly wrapped up the snacks and the novel, stuffing them under her pillow.
She pulled the covers over her head, pretending to be asleep. In reality, she was half-squinting her eyes to see who it was. Soon, the person entered the room, their footsteps light, and they were wearing a woman’s robe. Upon seeing who it was, Gu Hanyun immediately relaxed.
“Sister Han,” Gu Hanyun called out from under the covers.
Jiang Han placed the food on the table, turned to look at her, carefully glanced at the door, and then beckoned to Gu Hanyun, “Come on, see what good stuff I brought you.”
Gu Hanyun curiously came over and her eyes lit up in disbelief. “Sister Han, is all this for me?”
Jiang Han nodded. “You haven’t eaten all day, must be starving. Before the Prince returns, hurry up and eat. I specially packed this for you from the Manjiang Restaurant.”
“Sister Han, you’re so kind!” Gu Hanyun was very touched and sat down, tearing off a duck leg and eating it. As she ate, she said, “Sister Han, eat with me. I can’t finish so much by myself.”
Jiang Han sat beside her, looking at her with a kind and loving expression and said, “You eat more. After all, you haven’t eaten all day.” She had eaten at Liu Shuwei’s place in the morning and afternoon, and had even gone to the restaurant in the evening, so naturally, she wasn’t hungry. It was just poor Gu Hanyun who hadn’t eaten for a day.
Gu Hanyun choked and blinked, feeling a little embarrassed. “Sister Han, actually, I’m not hungry today.”
Jiang Han raised her eyebrows in confusion. Gu Hanyun put down the duck leg, ran to a corner of the room, and with a whoosh, pulled out a large box. She lifted the lid to reveal a variety of snacks and treats, then looked at Jiang Han obediently and said, “Sister Han, look.”
Jiang Han’s eyes widened as soon as Gu Hanyun lifted the lid. Wow, what was she worried about? Sure enough, a girl who could frequently visit brothels and rarely get caught could definitely prepare for the male lead’s punishment.
Jiang Han looked at her in shock, and Gu Hanyun blinked innocently, like an innocent rabbit.
“…” Jiang Han was silent for a moment, then looked at her deeply and said, “Alright, I believe you’re not hungry.”
Gu Hanyun nodded obediently, closed the box, and then pushed it back into the corner with difficulty. She patted the dust off her hands and smiled at Jiang Han, “Now can Sister Han eat with me?”

The candle flickered, and the incense burned. Half of Liu Shuwei’s face was illuminated by the candlelight, making her look exceptionally flawless.
“Miss, the Princess went to Lady Gu’s room after returning, and she was carrying a food box, as if she was sending food,” Shui Lu reported truthfully.
Liu Shuwei nodded slightly, her face showing no other emotion. She simply said, “You may leave.”
Shui Lu bowed and retreated, leaving only Liu Shuwei in the room. As she had said, was she really so kind to all her sisters? If so, then she could rest assured.
Liu Shuwei’s suspicion was not unfounded. After all, when someone who has a negative opinion of you suddenly becomes very kind to you, anyone would suspect that there was another motive.
However, for now, she could relax a little. But what was still puzzling was that the current Princess seemed different from the previous Princess. Was it true, as she had said herself, that she had been so hurt by the Prince that she had become enlightened?
A thoughtful look crossed Liu Shuwei’s eyes. Before she could think about it carefully, Qi Ze returned.
The first thing he said upon entering Liu Shuwei’s room was, “What on earth did the Princess say to the Empress Dowager today? She made the Empress Dowager so angry that she told me not to punish her anymore.”
Qi Ze had never imagined that one day his mother would be angry with him for punishing his wife. She had gone to the brothel yesterday, and wasn’t it right for him to punish her? And she had even scolded him for it. Qi Ze was in a very bad mood.
Liu Shuwei stepped forward to support him and smoothed his ruffled feathers. “What’s wrong, Your Highness? The Princess told the Empress Dowager today that she agrees to your marriage to me.”
Qi Ze’s angry words got stuck in his throat, and then he said half-believingly, “She actually expressed her support in front of the Empress Dowager? Did she really say that?”
Distracted by Liu Shuwei’s words, Qi Ze forgot that he had been angry at Jiang Han a moment ago. He quickly asked if what Liu Shuwei had said was true.
After asking, Qi Ze remembered to comfort Liu Shuwei, “Weiwei, did the Empress Dowager make things difficult for you today?”
Liu Shuwei paused and turned her head, smiling lightly, “No.”
Qi Ze immediately breathed a sigh of relief and said, “I knew it. Mother wouldn’t be so petty as to hold a grudge against a young woman like you. It’s great, Weiwei, as long as Mother doesn’t object, we can get married soon.”
“Yes, Your Highness,” Liu Shuwei lowered her eyes and smiled faintly, but the smile in her eyes did not reach her heart. Qi Ze’s first words upon returning were not to ask how she was, but to ask why he had been scolded. And after she denied that the Empress Dowager had made things difficult for her, Qi Ze had relaxed and said such words, as if he believed deep down that his mother would not make things difficult for her, and if she did, it wasn’t really true.
Looking at the man in front of her who smiled warmly because he was going to marry her, Liu Shuwei suddenly felt a sense of discomfort. How much of this happiness was because he was marrying her, and how much was because he had fulfilled his long-held wish?
Qi Ze obviously did not notice Liu Shuwei’s thoughts. After talking to Liu Shuwei for a while, he left.
Liu Shuwei watched Qi Ze’s back and her eyes flickered slightly. Regardless of how much he liked her, perhaps marrying him was the best choice.

On the other side, not long after Jiang Han returned to her room, Qi Ze arrived.
She put on a weak appearance and greeted Qi Ze when he entered the room, “Your Highness.”
Qi Ze glanced at her and said, “Sit down.”
Jiang Han obediently sat down. Sitting whenever she could was her usual principle.
Qi Ze clearly didn’t want to make small talk with her and went straight to the point, “I heard from Weiwei that you supported my marriage to Weiwei in front of the Empress Dowager this morning?”
Jiang Han nodded. Qi Ze raised an eyebrow and said deliberately, “Weren’t you trying to kill yourself a few days ago? How come you’ve changed your mind so quickly?”
Jiang Han’s eyes darted around and she said, “I thinks that Miss Liu is a gentle and beautiful woman who can be by Your Highness’s side and help you with your troubles. Moreover, I get along very well with Miss Liu.”
Qi Ze sneered. He knew about Liu Shuwei sending food to Jiang Han, but he thought it was just Liu Shuwei’s way of trying to win Jiang Han over, so he didn’t care. He nodded and said, “If you had thought this way earlier, I wouldn’t have treated you so harshly.”
“By the way,” Qi Ze continued, “I will be marrying Weiwei soon.”
Jiang Han lowered her head and said, “Congratulations, Your Highness.”
Qi Ze couldn’t see her expression and subconsciously thought she was sad. He looked at Jiang Han’s delicate chin and slender fingers as white as scallions, and his heart stirred a little.
Just as Jiang Han looked up at him, Qi Ze realized for the first time that his princess was actually quite beautiful. He narrowed his eyes and was hesitating whether to stay tonight when he suddenly heard Jiang Han say, “Then I want Your Highness to promise me that even if you marry Miss Liu, you will always only love me! Otherwise, I’ll go to my aunt and oppose your marriage to Miss Liu!”
The spark that had just ignited in Qi Ze’s heart was extinguished with a “pop.” He felt a little impatient, but said vaguely, “Fine, I understand. Go to sleep early. I’ll leave now.”
With that, he left Jiang Han’s room without any hesitation. And Jiang Han, after seeing Qi Ze leave, finally patted her chest in relief. Judging from the countless romance dramas she had watched, the male lead’s look just now was definitely not a good sign.
Most likely, the next second he would say with red eyes, “Beloved, I suddenly realize that you have some beauty too,” and then he would stay with her for the night.
Jiang Han naturally wouldn’t let this violent man take advantage of her, so she directly used the method that the male lead hated the most to drive him away. She guessed that after this incident, the male lead probably wouldn’t have any ideas about her for a long time.
••••
The next day, Jiang Han made an appointment with Gu Hanyun to admire the flowers in the pavilion by the back lake of the Prince’s mansion. Since they had been caught visiting the brothel the day before, Jiang Han and Gu Hanyun had been confined to their rooms for half a month.
Since they couldn’t go out and had nothing to do, and it just so happened that the lotus flowers in the back lake of the Prince’s mansion were in full bloom, they made an appointment to go and admire them in the evening. When Jiang Han arrived, Gu Hanyun had already prepared the snacks and tea she had brought.
The sky was still bright, but the air was cooler. Jiang Han sat with Gu Hanyun and chatted casually. A gentle breeze blew, and ripples gradually spread across the lake, making it very comfortable.
The two of them squinted their eyes and enjoyed themselves for a while, when Jiang Han suddenly said, “I suddenly thought of something fun, do you want to play with me?”
Gu Hanyun was excited. She also felt that although it was comfortable now, it was a bit boring, so she quickly said, “What’s fun?”
Jiang Han smiled mysteriously and dismissed the maids to a place where they couldn’t see them. She then asked them to collect some thin stones.
On the calm surface of the lake, a very fast black shadow suddenly flashed. The shadow jumped on the water several times, and each time it jumped, a circle of ripples spread out. After jumping three times, it finally sank into the water.
“Wow, Princess, you’re so amazing!” Gu Hanyun exclaimed in amazement, watching the stone Jiang Han threw skip across the water several times. “Princess, how did you make the stone not sink on the first try? It’s like it’s doing light kung fu on the water!”
If Jiang Han’s nose could grow longer, she would already be Pinocchio. She proudly stuck out her waist and said, “I just discovered it by accident. It’s actually very simple. Do you want to try?”
“Yes!” Gu Hanyun exclaimed excitedly.
A moment later, the surface of the lake was like countless people doing light kung fu on the water, with circles of ripples spreading out and intersecting with each other, never stopping.
Their maids, although they couldn’t see what they were doing, could hear their happy laughter.
At the same time, in the back garden, a woman dressed in a red dress with a golden hairpin between her brows frowned. She stopped and raised her head, saying to her maid, “Go and see who’s laughing so loudly.”
