The Moon Shines on Me (GL) - Chapter 36
Not long after their honeymoon, Gu Shiwei and Shen Yuan were invited to a wedding.
The protagonists of the wedding, like them, were a lesbian couple.
This lesbian couple had quite a history with Gu Shiwei and Shen Yuan.
One of the brides, Fang Qinning, was Gu Shiwei’s classmate at Jinghai University, and the other bride, Xie Jing, was from Jiangcheng and had been acquainted with Shen Yuan in her youth.
Unfortunately, during the years that Shen Yuan was estranged from the Shen family, Xie Jing’s family happened to undergo a major crisis. Later, Xie Jing traveled abroad for treatment, and after returning, the heavy burden of the company fell upon her, so she rarely contacted these old friends.
Naturally, she wasn’t very clear about what Shen Yuan had specifically gone through in those years.
This time, for her wedding with Qinning, Qinning specifically invited Gu Shiwei and Shen Yuan to attend their wedding banquet.
Upon entering, Gu Shiwei presented a generous gift.
After exchanging greetings with the newlyweds, she immediately turned her attention back to Shen Yuan beside her: “Yuan Yuan, are you thirsty? Do you want anything to drink?”
Shen Yuan shook her head. Just as she was about to speak, her wrist was grasped.
“Mingyue, I’d like to catch up with you,” Xie Jing, dressed in an exquisite gown, said with a slightly nervous expression. “Could you come with me for a moment?”
Shen Yuan looked back at Gu Shiwei, gave her a reassuring look, and then nodded to Xie Jing: “Okay.”
Watching their figures disappear together, Gu Shiwei clinked glasses with Fang Qinning, lamenting, “Your wife just stole mine away.”
Qinning glanced at her and drained the red wine in her glass.
A moment later, a playful smile touched her lips: “What’s the rush? The two of them, just like you and me, even if they slept in the same bed, it could only be a relationship of pure conversation under the covers.”
Just as Lin Qinghuan had said, they were a “clash of types” (both being the more dominant partner, an idiom referring to their dynamic).
Despite this, Qinning still watched the direction they had left for a long time.
The wedding was set to begin in about half an hour. Gu Shiwei and Qinning drank facing each other for a quarter of an hour until they saw Xie Jing being walked out by Shen Yuan, her eyes red. They simultaneously put down their wine glasses, their faces tense, and pulled their respective wives into their arms.
“What did you talk about?” Qinning embraced Xie Jing’s shoulder, looking down at her face: “Why are you crying?”
“It’s nothing,” Xie Jing sniffed, looking up at Qinning: “Just haven’t seen Mingyue in a while, I got a little emotional.”
Shen Yuan’s eyes were also a bit red. Gu Shiwei’s heart ached at the sight, and she immediately held the person and pecked her twice.
Now, not only were Shen Yuan’s eyes red, but her ears were also flushed. She gently pushed away Gu Shiwei’s approaching face, signaling that she was fine.
“The wedding is about to start,” Shen Yuan, enduring two intense gazes, forced herself to remain composed and patted Xie Jing’s shoulder: “Xiao Jing, you two hurry and get ready, don’t miss the auspicious time.”
Having said that, she took Gu Shiwei’s hand and left.
They walked to the seating area and sat down.
This was Shen Yuan’s first time attending a wedding as a guest, sitting in the audience. When she married Gu Shiwei, as the protagonists on stage, she didn’t have the time to fully experience the intense atmosphere of the wedding, as they went through the whole process amidst various complicated procedures.
This time, as a spectator, she had the opportunity to carefully observe.
Gu Shiwei, sitting next to her, glanced at Shen Yuan’s face and, seeing how seriously she was watching, suddenly leaned in and whispered: “Yuan Yuan, if you like it, we can have another wedding next year.”
Her mother, Ms. Gu Qingfeng, the matriarch, had long wanted to prepare a traditional Chinese wedding for them. If it weren’t for Shen Yuan’s shyness, they might have transitioned directly to a Chinese wedding right after their six-month honeymoon.
“No…” Shen Yuan was already deeply shocked by Gu Shiwei’s open family style. Getting married and obtaining a marriage certificate abroad was already startling enough for her. She never expected that Ms. Gu Qingfeng would directly and extensively publicize their happy news in the domestic media, planning to host another Chinese wedding for them.
After Shen Yuan politely declined, she and Gu Shiwei traveled the world to cover their tracks.
They spent six months on their wedding honeymoon, moving from country to country.
It really wasn’t that she didn’t want to return to China sooner; it was simply that the news of Jinghai’s richest woman, the only daughter of the Gu Group’s Gu Qingfeng, Gu Shiwei, marrying another woman, an unknown low-level employee, was too explosive. The topic topped the local trending searches for over a month and showed no sign of stopping.
Staring at the persistently high trend, Shen Yuan had no choice but to hide abroad, only returning six months later.
Even so, when she returned to the country not long ago, she was still met with the awe-struck gazes of the entire company.
No one had expected that the obscure little employee had actually married their top boss, the Little Gu CEO.
They had been conducting a secret, underground relationship all along!
This news hit the entire company with a sudden, thunderous blow.
Of course, the happiest person during this time was Lu Qingwan. Her colleague and best friend, Shen Yuan, had transformed from a primary artist assistant into the CEO’s wife. Her “backer” had finally become solid. Even Bai Yu was mindful of Shen Yuan’s position and no longer spoke to her with the same sarcastic tone as before.
Chen Ping shared the same sentiment. After Assistant Chen was promoted to full-time, she diligently carried out every task within her duties. The Little Gu CEO was very kind, the company’s benefits were excellent, and although the CEO’s wife was a bit distant, she was also very kind-hearted. Since the two of them got together, Chen Ping could practically “ship” them every day, which provided endless motivation for her otherwise dull professional life.
Sure enough, shipping couples can make people momentarily forget their troubles.
Shipping is temporarily great; shipping forever is always great.
Chen Ping hoped that CEO Gu and Miss Shen would stay happy forever. She was willing to eat vegetarian once a day to pray for such wonderful bosses and the boss’s wife, wishing them a happy century and eternal love.
After the wedding, Shen Yuan and Gu Shiwei drove back to Yunjin Courtyard.
Although this house was small, it held the most memories for Gu Shiwei and Shen Yuan. Neither of them suggested changing residences after returning to China, so this house had been kept.
As soon as Shen Yuan opened the door and walked in, Gu Shiwei slammed the door shut behind her.
Shen Yuan was unexpectedly turned around, her back hitting the wall by the entrance.
Immediately, Gu Shiwei’s fierce kisses rained down like a sudden storm.
“Mmm…” Shen Yuan reached out and pushed against Gu Shiwei’s shoulder, using her arm to create a small distance between them. However, her act of resistance seemed to provoke Gu Shiwei, who forcefully pressed down again.
Amidst the entanglement of their lips and teeth, unswallowed saliva slowly trailed down Shen Yuan’s cheek.
The sounds of their kissing were subtle and wet.
“Tsk…” Gu Shiwei sucked heavily on Shen Yuan’s tongue tip as a mild punishment, and only after a long moment did she separate slightly, panting low.
Shen Yuan’s cheeks were cupped in Gu Shiwei’s hands. Her lips were slightly parted, her breathing chaotic, and her eyes were brimming with moisture, clearly looking dazed from the kiss.
“Yuan Yuan, I’ve been holding back for so long. I wanted to kiss you back at the banquet.” If it weren’t for the crowd there, and Gu Shiwei knowing Shen Yuan was shy and thin-skinned, she would have leaned down and kissed her much sooner.
Gu Shiwei had been drinking and couldn’t drive. On the way back, as she sat in the passenger seat, she continuously watched Shen Yuan with a burning gaze. Unfortunately, Shen Yuan remained utterly serious, back straight, and eyes fixed forward, completely ignoring her look.
Gu Shiwei had held back all the way and, the moment they stepped inside the house, a fierce craving erupted.
“Gu Shiwei,” Shen Yuan said. “Next time, you can tell me.”
“If I told you, would you let me kiss you in the car?” Gu Shiwei curled her finger, playing with Shen Yuan’s flushed earlobe, and couldn’t resist leaning down to plant a trail of tiny, dense kisses.
Shen Yuan, her breath ragged, let out a short: “En,” from her throat.
Gu Shiwei raised an eyebrow: “What does ‘en’ mean? That you agree to let me kiss you in the car, or that you’re being kissed so much that—”
Afraid she would continue, Shen Yuan immediately took a deep breath and interrupted her: “‘En’ means you can kiss me in the car.”
Given permission, Gu Shiwei became even more demanding: “Besides kissing, can we do other things too?”
Shen Yuan tilted her head in confusion: “What else do you want to do in the car?”
“Never mind,” Gu Shiwei suddenly bent down, threading her arms under Shen Yuan’s knees and lifting her up horizontally.
Gu Shiwei kicked open the bedroom door and placed Shen Yuan on the bed, immediately pressing down on her so close that they were inseparable: “It’s more comfortable to kiss at home.”
After saying that, Gu Shiwei lowered her head and seized Shen Yuan’s soft, moist lips. With half a year of practice and experience, Gu Shiwei’s kissing technique had become increasingly skillful. When she licked and sucked, she liked to close her eyes and savor the moment carefully. Whenever this happened, Shen Yuan would lower her gaze and seriously watch her expression.
It was an expression of happiness mixed with satisfaction. When Gu Shiwei’s tongue pried open Shen Yuan’s lips and teeth, she would even flash a slight, triumphant smile. Shen Yuan cooperated, parting her mouth and letting Gu Shiwei invade her soft inner territory and conquer the castle.
“Mmm…” Shen Yuan’s eyelashes suddenly fluttered, and the fingers resting on Gu Shiwei’s shoulder tightened abruptly.
Gu Shiwei separated them slightly, sighing, and looked up at Shen Yuan: “Breathe.”
They had kissed so many times, yet why was Yuan Yuan still so awkward with kissing? Gu Shiwei secretly made a firm decision: she needed to practice more often—ideally three times a day, no… ten times a day. Three times in the morning, three times at noon, and four times at night.
Diligent practice leads to proficiency.
Gu Shiwei silently noted her plan, and then lowered her head to kiss her again.
She’d start the practice tomorrow; today, she just wanted to kiss her many, many times.
As the kiss deepened, Shen Yuan’s snow-like face slowly became flushed. Amidst the turning of lips and tongue, she tightly hugged Gu Shiwei’s shoulders, instinctively rubbing against her leg.
“Yuan Yuan.” Gu Shiwei seemed to have had a switch flipped. All her movements paused in that instant, leaving only a pair of light-colored eyes radiating a deep, profound light.
“Gu Shiwei.” Shen Yuan lifted her leg and rubbed against her waist again.
Boom!
Gu Shiwei’s rationality instantly collapsed. Her eyes were scorched red by the heat of her bl00d, and the hand supporting Shen Yuan’s neck subconsciously slipped away, tracing a path down her cheek to her neckline.
One by one, white mother-of-pearl buttons slipped out of the silk shirt. Fine, dense sweat beaded on Gu Shiwei’s forehead.
Although they had been married for six months, Shen Yuan, who was usually indifferent to s3x, rarely took the initiative like she did today. Her invitation made Gu Shiwei both excited and overjoyed. A rush of heat surged into her brain and then dispersed throughout her body, making her tremble uncontrollably.
“Yuan Yuan, kiss me,” Gu Shiwei leaned down close to Shen Yuan: “Kiss me like I kiss you.”
Hearing this, Shen Yuan clenched her palm, raised her upper body, and pecked Gu Shiwei’s lips.
A touch-and-go kiss, and Shen Yuan’s body softened again.
Even so, Gu Shiwei felt like a lit firecracker; her heart instantly exploded. That wildly beating heart was pressed tightly against Shen Yuan through her ribcage, ebb and flow (referencing the title and the reciprocal nature of their intense feelings).
Gu Shiwei said: “Shen Yuan, I love you more than the me from eight years ago.”
Shen Yuan: “Me too.”
