The Movie Queen Confesses to Me on Weibo Everyday - Chapter 12
Lu Qiyue sat on the bed for nearly half an hour before the blush on her face slowly faded.
She hadn’t taken the day off, and as a working professional, Lu Qiyue had to go to work.
Only by keeping herself busy could she avoid thinking about Ruan Xingchen and that… alluring dream from last night.
To avoid overly close relationships with men—or even women—Lu Qiyue had always taught classes for four- and five-year-old children, focusing on introductory dance.
Teaching such a class might seem easy, but it was actually exhausting. The kids were energetic and restless, picking things up quickly when they focused but requiring repeated instruction when they got mischievous.
By the time her shift ended, Lu Qiyue was completely drained.
“Yueyue, off work?” A colleague passing by greeted her.
“Yeah, I’ll be right there.” After waving goodbye, Lu Qiyue prepared to change and head home.
In the changing room, she had just placed her hands on the hem of her shirt, about to take it off, when a pleasant female voice suddenly came from behind.
“Teacher Lu, how about some overtime?”
Startled—she hadn’t expected anyone else in the changing room—Lu Qiyue quickly lowered her hands, smoothed her clothes, and turned to see who it was.
The person was fully disguised, wearing a mask and a baseball cap that obscured their entire face.
They looked suspicious, like someone with ill intentions.
But that familiar voice could only belong to… Lu Qiyue’s eyes widened slightly, disbelief flooding her expression.
“R-Ruan… Xingchen?” she finally managed to ask after a long pause.
Ruan Xingchen removed her mask and hat, lips curving into a smile as her eyes sparkled with amusement. “It’s me.”
At the confirmation, a flicker of joy flashed through Lu Qiyue’s eyes before she frowned in confusion. “But you said you were going on a business trip… for two days?”
It hadn’t even been a full day.
“Mhm.” Ruan Xingchen responded lightly, her tone casual. “I work efficiently.”
“Besides…” Her gaze deepened as she stared at Lu Qiyue, her voice softening into something tender yet teasing. “…I missed you.”
Longing was a strange thing—once it took hold, letting go felt like losing a part of herself. So Ruan Xingchen had decisively finished her work at top speed and had Song Yang book her a return flight.
After landing, she’d sent Song Yang to drop her things off at Lu Qiyue’s place while she drove straight to where Lu Qiyue worked.
She’d had Song Yang look into Lu Qiyue’s information before, so she knew where she taught and that she was always the last to leave.
To Lu Qiyue, the current Ruan Xingchen seemed like she’d had a complete personality swap from six years ago.
Back then, it had been Lu Qiyue who constantly voiced words like “like,” “love,” and “miss,” who clung to her partner. But now, six years later, the things she used to do had become Ruan Xingchen’s habits.
Yet Lu Qiyue didn’t have the same calm composure Ruan Xingchen had possessed back then.
A single “I missed you” from Ruan Xingchen sent Lu Qiyue’s heart into a wild, erratic rhythm, her fair cheeks warming instantly.
“You… don’t…” Lu Qiyue bit her lower lip, trying to stop Ruan Xingchen’s teasing.
But Ruan Xingchen had no intention of just speaking—she wanted an answer too.
“What about you?” Ruan Xingchen interrupted Lu Qiyue, her bright yet profound eyes fixed intently on her, filled with an eager anticipation that Lu Qiyue could clearly read.
“Did you miss me?” Ruan Xingchen asked.
“I…” Lu Qiyue lowered her head, not daring to meet Ruan Xingchen’s gaze. After a long pause, Ruan Xingchen finally heard Lu Qiyue’s barely audible whisper. “Yes.”
“What did you say? Say it again?” Ruan Xingchen was overjoyed. She lifted Lu Qiyue’s chin, pressing for more.
That couldn’t have been her imagination, right? Did Lu Qiyue… really say she missed her?!
Ruan Xingchen regretted not turning on her phone’s recording earlier. That way, she could confirm right away that the word “yes” was real—not a dream or a hallucination.
When Lu Qiyue didn’t speak again, Ruan Xingchen coaxed her patiently, “Yueyue, say it one more time, please? I’m begging you.”
Ruan Xingchen blinked at her, and Lu Qiyue was reminded of a puppy eagerly watching its owner during mealtime.
So the usually cool and composed Ruan Xingchen had this adorable side too?!
Lu Qiyue felt like she’d discovered something new, but at the same time, an inexplicable happiness welled up inside her—after all, this side of Ruan Xingchen was only shown to her.
How could she possibly refuse now? Her heart melted completely. If Ruan Xingchen wanted to hear it, then… she’d say it again.
This time, Lu Qiyue didn’t avoid Ruan Xingchen’s gaze. Summoning her courage, she met those starry eyes and slowly parted her lips, letting out a single syllable: “Yes.”
They were so close that Lu Qiyue could see the way Ruan Xingchen’s lips curved upward at that one word, her eyes sparkling, her breath growing heavier… and the way she leaned in, inch by inch.
“Yueyue…” Ruan Xingchen’s throat felt dry, lending her voice a rougher edge than before.
Lu Qiyue found the heat in Ruan Xingchen’s gaze almost unbearable. As someone who had once shared an unspoken connection with her, she instantly understood what it meant—and her own breathing grew uneven.
“Wh-what?”
“I… want to kiss you. May I?” Ruan Xingchen asked. She wanted to. That single “yes” had already ignited desires she’d suppressed for six years. In the past, she wouldn’t have asked—she would’ve captured Lu Qiyue’s lips without hesitation, teasing them again and again. But now, she was afraid of scaring her.
Afraid she’d retreat back into her shell.
Lu Qiyue’s cheeks burned crimson, a mix of frustration and faint longing swirling inside her.
If she wanted to kiss her, why did she have to ask?!
How was she supposed to answer something like that?
Yet Ruan Xingchen seemed determined to hear it today. She gazed at Lu Qiyue and repeated, “Yueyue, may I?”
Lu Qiyue noticed her voice had grown even huskier.
“You’re really…” Lu Qiyue was exasperated. Once again, she realized Ruan Xingchen had changed—the old Ruan Xingchen would never play such tricks.
However, Lu Qiyue’s angry words never had a chance to be spoken. Ruan Xingchen could no longer restrain herself and captured Lu Qiyue’s soft pink lips—first with a domineering kiss that later melted into tender exploration. Only when Lu Qiyue was nearly breathless did Ruan Xingchen finally release her.
After six long years, a single kiss was far from enough to quell Ruan Xingchen’s longing. She wanted more. Gazing at Lu Qiyue with eyes brimming with emotion, she whispered, “Yueyue, let’s go home, okay?”
