The Movie Queen Confesses to Me on Weibo Everyday - Chapter 13
Lu Qiyue was completely dazed by Ruan Xingchen’s kiss, her mind devoid of any ability to think for herself. Her body instinctively responded to Ruan Xingchen’s request.
“Okay.”
Six years ago, Lu Qiyue had developed a habit—every time Ruan Xingchen kissed her, she would become utterly muddled, unable to refuse any of Ruan Xingchen’s requests. Because of this, Ruan Xingchen had reaped countless sweet rewards.
Dragging Lu Qiyue straight to the parking lot, it wasn’t until they were in Ruan Xingchen’s car and the engine roared to life that Lu Qiyue’s mind finally started functioning again.
Remembering what she had just agreed to, Lu Qiyue was so embarrassed she wished she could burrow into a hole.
“Ruan Xingchen… I… I just…”
“Are you going back on your word?” Ruan Xingchen turned her head, fixing her gaze on Lu Qiyue, immediately putting on a pitiful expression. “Yueyue, you promised me yourself just now.”
Hearing Ruan Xingchen’s aggrieved tone, the defenses Lu Qiyue had just built up instantly crumbled.
“Y-you… don’t talk like that.” Lu Qiyue felt her tongue tying itself in knots. She realized she truly couldn’t bring herself to refuse a coquettish, adorable Ruan Xingchen—it was like her weak spot had been pressed. Even uttering a single word of rejection made her feel like the worst person in the world.
“So are you taking it back?” Ruan Xingchen pressed on, clearly unwilling to let this go until she got her way.
Lu Qiyue felt herself retreating step by step in front of Ruan Xingchen. She didn’t know how much longer she could hold her ground.
Lu Qiyue didn’t answer. Instead, she looked out the window. The car had just emerged from the underground garage, passing through a shopping street crowded with people—single men and women, and… couples holding hands. Watching those intimate pairs walking together, her eyes filled with longing.
Would she and Ruan Xingchen… one day be like them?
Would she and Ruan Xingchen… really have a future?
Too many things stood between them. Lu Qiyue had no confidence at all about what lay ahead for them.
She didn’t know how much time had passed when, just as Ruan Xingchen was convinced tonight’s plans were doomed, Lu Qiyue’s voice finally broke the silence.
“I’m not taking it back.”
“I’m just… hungry.”
Only then did Ruan Xingchen remember that Lu Qiyue had gotten off work at 6:30 PM. After their little detour, it was already 7:30—definitely time for dinner.
Ruan Xingchen immediately said, “Let’s go eat first.”
“No, let’s go to the supermarket first. How could any restaurant food compare to what I cook for you?” Ruan Xingchen had absolute confidence in her culinary skills. Most importantly, could anyone else’s cooking possibly contain the same depth of love she had for Lu Qiyue?
Seeing Ruan Xingchen’s excitement, Lu Qiyue hesitated. “Aren’t you… afraid of being recognized?”
“Not at all. In fact, it’d be great if we were.” Ruan Xingchen replied without a care.
If she and Lu Qiyue were recognized together, wouldn’t the whole world know who Lu Qiyue belonged to?
Then let’s see how Yueyue could possibly deny it.
The car drove straight to the supermarket’s underground parking garage on B3. After getting out, the two took the elevator directly up to B1.
As if to prove herself, Ruan Xingchen only wore a baseball cap as she entered the supermarket, pushing a shopping cart with one hand while tightly holding Lu Qiyue’s hand with the other. The grip wasn’t strong, yet Lu Qiyue found herself unable to break free no matter how she struggled.
“Ruan Xingchen, maybe… we shouldn’t buy groceries today.” Lu Qiyue had noticed the uncertain and hesitant glances directed their way ever since they entered the supermarket.
She knew what those looks meant. Regret washed over Lu Qiyue—she shouldn’t have let Ruan Xingchen make this decision. It would have been safer if the actress had remained fully masked and disguised with her baseball cap.
Just as she was berating herself, a figure suddenly blocked their path.
Lu Qiyue looked up to see a girl—petite but adorable—whose eyes sparkled as she stared at Ruan Xingchen, her face alight with barely contained excitement.
“H-hi, sis… are you Sister Chen?” The girl’s voice trembled nervously, yet she couldn’t tear her gaze away. Lu Qiyue saw pure adoration for Ruan Xingchen shining in those eyes. “I… I’m Little Star, your fan.”
Ruan Xingchen always showed extra gentleness and patience toward her fans, especially when faced with such an endearing young girl.
Nodding slightly, Ruan Xingchen smiled with a hint of fondness. “Hello, I’m Ruan Xingchen.”
Her voice was soft and warm, like an approachable older sister next door.
Realizing she was actually meeting her idol in person, the girl’s restraint shattered instantly. She screamed, “Ahhh! Sister Chen, it’s really you! You’re so beautiful—I really, really love you!”
The outburst drew the attention of all the previously hesitant onlookers, who swarmed over almost immediately.
“Oh my god, it’s really Ruan Xingchen!”
“The actual Ruan Xingchen? I have to get an autograph!”
“I want a photo too! I’ve never taken one with a celebrity before—this’ll be a family heirloom!”
…
Seeing the approaching crowd, Ruan Xingchen quickly wrapped an arm around Lu Qiyue, shielding her from potential bumps or collisions.
The young fan quickly regained her senses and called over her friends to form a protective circle around Ruan Xingchen.
“Sister Chen, I’m so sorry.” The girl looked guiltily at the tightly packed crowd surrounding her idol. Fortunately, she hadn’t come to the supermarket alone—had her outburst endangered Ruan Xingchen, she would have been devastated.
Ruan Xingchen didn’t blame her; she was accustomed to such scenes. Noticing Lu Qiyue’s pale face, she leaned in to reassure her quietly, “Don’t be afraid. Nothing will happen to you—I’ll protect you.”
“Use my phone to call Sister Zhang. Explain the situation, and she’ll handle arrangements.”
“The passcode is the day we got together.”
After speaking to Lu Qiyue, Ruan Xingchen turned her attention to the surrounding crowd. With a sincere smile and calm yet gentle reassurance, she addressed them: “Hello everyone, I’m Ruan Xingchen. Please don’t push—stay safe and avoid any accidents.”
“Also, I came to the supermarket today to shop for groceries with everyone, so I might not have time to give autographs. But I’ll post on Weibo later and give away a hundred signed items. Is that okay with everyone?”
Most of the crowd surrounding Ruan Xingchen and Lu Qiyue were Ruan’s fans, who were being remarkably well-behaved in her presence.
“Sure thing, Sister Chen.”
“We’ll do whatever Sister Chen says.”
“Just getting to see Sister Chen in person is enough for me. The autographed photos can go to others.”
“Everyone, please maintain order and avoid crowding.”
“Sister Chen, what groceries do you need? We’ll get them for you.”
“Let us pay for your shopping!”
…
Faced with the fans’ enthusiasm and orderly behavior, Lu Qiyue’s initial nervousness faded, replaced by amused exasperation.
Other celebrities received flowers or small gifts from fans, but with Ruan Xingchen? Everyone was offering groceries!
“Ruan Xingchen, your fans are adorable,” Lu Qiyue whispered into Ruan’s embrace.
“Sister Chen, is this lady your future husband?” someone suddenly shouted from the crowd.
Only then did everyone notice how intimately close Ruan Xingchen and Lu Qiyue were—Lu practically nestled in Ruan’s arms, while Ruan protectively held her with careful tension.
