The Movie Queen Confesses to Me on Weibo Everyday - Chapter 22
“Just take her away when I tell you to. Why waste so many words?” Father Lu’s face darkened as he unceremoniously chased them out. “Get out.”
Ruan Xingchen still felt something was off. After giving Father Lu a deep look, she led Lu Qiyue away.
By the time they returned to the car, Lu Qiyue’s tears hadn’t stopped.
“Ah Ruan, my dad… he doesn’t want me anymore.” Lu Qiyue wept bitterly.
These were her most cherished family members, yet from today onward, she had no connection with them.
“Yueyue, don’t cry.” Watching Lu Qiyue’s tear-streaked face, Ruan Xingchen’s heart ached in sympathy. Gently wiping the tears from her cheeks, Ruan Xingchen said softly, “Although I can’t guess what Uncle Lu is thinking, I believe he’s doing this for your own good.”
“But what kind of parents would cut ties with their child for their own good?” Song Yang muttered from the side.
It wasn’t that she wanted to undermine her sister Ruan, but the reasoning sounded utterly absurd no matter how you looked at it.
In the confined space of the car, Song Yang’s words reached Lu Qiyue and Ruan Xingchen’s ears clearly.
Lu Qiyue’s tears began falling anew.
Only then did Song Yang realize her mistake and hurriedly apologized, “I’m sorry, sister-in-law, I just… ah, my stupid mouth, I’m sorry, I’m sorry…”
“Song Yang, find us a hotel nearby to stay at tonight,” Ruan Xingchen instructed.
“Right away, I’ll book it now.” Song Yang quickly got out of the car.
With the door closed, only Ruan Xingchen and Lu Qiyue remained inside.
“Yueyue, we’ll wait until after Uncle Lu’s surgery before going back.” Ruan Xingchen shared her plans. Regardless of Father Lu’s true intentions, he was still Lu Qiyue’s father. Even if he had driven her out today with such final words, knowing Yueyue’s nature, she wouldn’t be able to let go so easily.
Seeing Lu Qiyue still shedding tears, Ruan Xingchen lightened the mood with a joke, “Yueyue, tell me, by asking me to take you away today, does that mean Uncle Lu is entrusting you to me?”
“Does this mean Lu Qiyue now belongs to Ruan Xingchen?!”
Hearing this, Lu Qiyue looked up at Ruan Xingchen, her long lashes still glistening with unshed tears, evoking a wave of tenderness in anyone who saw her.
Ruan Xingchen’s heart melted completely, and a surge of impulse welled up from deep within her.
She wanted to kiss her.
With only the two of them left in the car, and Ruan Xingchen never one to deny herself—especially with the person she loved right in front of her—why hold back?
Ruan Xingchen leaned in and captured Lu Qiyue’s lips.
Lu Qiyue’s lips were soft, with a hint of sweetness that made Ruan Xingchen want to savor them, to explore just how sweet they could be.
Ruan Xingchen was easily addicted to Lu Qiyue, so she deepened the kiss without hesitation.
Lu Qiyue had already been stunned by Ruan Xingchen’s earlier words, and now with this passionate kiss, her mind grew hazy.
In her daze, all she knew was that she loved it when Ruan Xingchen kissed her—it felt so good that she shamefully didn’t want it to end.
Their kiss lasted a full ten minutes, their lips and tongues entwined, until Lu Qiyue was breathless and Ruan Xingchen reluctantly pulled away.
“You… why did you suddenly kiss me?” Lu Qiyue’s face flushed crimson as she whispered.
“When you like someone, you kiss them whenever you want,” Ruan Xingchen replied with a faint smile, her eyes brimming with satisfaction after releasing her passion, her words utterly shameless.
“Or perhaps…” Ruan Xingchen leaned closer to Lu Qiyue, her voice light and teasing, “you didn’t like it?”
Of course, Lu Qiyue didn’t dislike it—she just hadn’t expected Ruan Xingchen to suddenly turn so bold.
Yet even if it went against her conscience, she couldn’t bring herself to say “I don’t like it.” Instead, she pressed her lips together in silence.
As long as she didn’t speak, Ruan Xingchen surely wouldn’t press further.
But what Lu Qiyue didn’t know was that Ruan Xingchen fully intended to get an answer.
Hearing no response, Ruan Xingchen asked again.
“Yueyue, do you like it? Or not?”
“N—” Annoyed by the questioning, Lu Qiyue glared at Ruan Xingchen, nearly blurting out “I don’t like it.”
But Ruan Xingchen didn’t let her finish. “If you don’t like it, then I’ll keep kissing you until you do.”
“So, Yueyue, think carefully before you answer.”
This was an outright threat.
Furious, Lu Qiyue noticed Ruan Xingchen’s gaze flickering to her lips, and she knew—Ruan Xingchen meant every word.
Lu Qiyue didn’t want to be kissed again. Not because she disliked it, but because she could already feel the heat on her lips. Without a doubt, they were swollen from their earlier kiss.
If that unrestrained woman kissed her again, how could she possibly face anyone today?
She hadn’t forgotten that Ruan Xingchen had an assistant nearby.
Reluctantly, Lu Qiyue gave in. Gritting her teeth, she answered, “I… like it.”
Finally satisfied, Ruan Xingchen adjusted her posture, putting some distance between them so Lu Qiyue wasn’t pressed against the car window.
When Song Yang returned, she found the two sitting properly in their seats, the atmosphere between them oddly tense.
Blinking, Song Yang wondered—had they argued in the short time she was gone?
Just as she was about to voice her curiosity, her gaze landed on their slightly swollen lips, and she understood.
“Uh… should I go back out for a while?”
She seemed to have interrupted something.
“No need. It’s already over.” Having worked together for six years, Song Yang could easily read Ruan Xingchen’s thoughts—and vice versa. Besides, it was late, and outside was cold. Ruan Xingchen wouldn’t bully her assistant like that.
“Over? Ohhh.” Song Yang climbed into the car, her tone tinged with disappointment.
Amused, Ruan Xingchen scoffed. “What? Did you want a live show?”
Song Yang: I do, but I’d never say it.
Aside from being Ruan Xingchen’s assistant, Song Yang had one lifelong hobby—shipping couples. But out of all the pairs she’d shipped, none compared to the real deal between Ruan Xingchen and Lu Qiyue.
“Chen Jie, I didn’t…” Song Yang was about to defend herself when she saw Ruan Xingchen suddenly lean in close to Lu Qiyue and plant a quick kiss on her lips.
A… a kiss? She actually kissed her?
Right in front of me?
Song Yang froze, then came back to her senses wanting to cry: “Chen Jie, you’re being cruel to us singles.”
