The Movie Queen Confesses to Me on Weibo Everyday - Chapter 23
The hotel Song Yang booked was very close to the hospital, less than ten minutes away, making it extremely convenient. Of course, the living conditions couldn’t compare to a star-rated hotel.
“Chen Jie, this is the best hotel near the hospital. See if you can get used to it. If not, we can look for something farther away,” Song Yang said, holding the key card as she walked ahead of Ruan Xingchen and Lu Qiyue.
Room 307 was the one Song Yang had booked for Ruan Xingchen and Lu Qiyue, while her own room was next door in 308.
After escorting them to the door of 307, Song Yang swiped the card and stopped in her tracks.
She didn’t dare go any further.
Turning back to face Ruan Xingchen and Lu Qiyue, Song Yang fidgeted awkwardly and said:
“Chen Jie, this hotel only had two rooms left. Mine is a standard twin, but don’t worry, Chen Jie and brother-in-law—this one is a queen bed. It’s just that… there might be a little surprise inside.”
“Surprise?”
Ruan Xingchen and Lu Qiyue exchanged glances, both confused.
Before they could ask, Song Yang bolted past them like her life depended on it, sprinting to the neighboring room, swiping her card, and slamming the door shut in record time.
Ruan Xingchen pondered for a few seconds before taking Lu Qiyue’s hand and walking straight in.
“Let’s check it out first.”
Once inside, they immediately understood what Song Yang meant by “surprise.”
This… was actually a love hotel room?!
In the center of the room stood a large round bed, strewn with flower petals. Various special tools were placed around the room, and combined with the dim, moody lighting, the atmosphere couldn’t just be described as “ambiguous.”
Unhealthy scenes involuntarily flashed through Lu Qiyue’s mind, and she was so embarrassed she wished she could vanish into the ground.
“A-Ruan… maybe we should switch rooms with Song Yang,” Lu Qiyue stammered nervously.
“No. I like big beds,” Ruan Xingchen refused flatly, then calmly walked over to the round bed and sat down.
It was then that she discovered the bed wasn’t as ordinary as it appeared—it had a hidden feature.
This round bed was actually a waterbed and if the people lying on it got restless, the experience would be…intensified.
Ruan Xingchen lowered her eyelids slightly. She was starting to think Song Yang had taken this joke too far.
She contemplated how to break the news to Lu Qiyue.
Seeing Ruan Xingchen’s silence, Lu Qiyue assumed she was upset by her earlier suggestion. Biting her lip hesitantly, she slowly walked over to Ruan Xingchen, ready to coax her.
“A-Ruan, you—”
“Let’s go switch rooms with Song Yang after all,” Ruan Xingchen interrupted, standing up and pulling Lu Qiyue toward the door.
Thinking Ruan Xingchen was genuinely angry, Lu Qiyue quickly planted her feet and said, “No need to switch, A-Ruan! No need! I like this room. Let’s just stay here.”
Ruan Xingchen stopped and turned to look at her, hesitating. “You’re sure you like it?”
Lu Qiyue nodded vigorously, her expression earnest. Whether she liked it or not didn’t matter—what mattered was not upsetting A-Ruan.
If A-Ruan liked it, then she could like it too.
To show she truly meant it, Lu Qiyue turned around first, took out her pajamas, and headed straight for the bathroom—making it clear she wasn’t leaving.
Ruan Xingchen watched her hurried retreat with amused exasperation.
Would Yueyue regret this decision later?
While Lu Qiyue showered, Ruan Xingchen took her phone and stepped out of the room.
In the hallway, she called Yin Bailu to inquire about Lu Qiyue’s father’s condition and the details of tomorrow’s surgery, mentioning she was staying at a hotel near the hospital.
Yin Bailu was surprised—though not entirely—that Ruan Xingchen had come. After all, this was the father of the person she had cherished for so many years.
“Want to grab a drink later?” Yin Bailu offered.
“Aren’t you operating tomorrow? Can you drink?” Ruan Xingchen raised a brow.
“I can’t. You drink.” Yin Bailu just wanted to see her—it had been a while.
When Ruan Xingchen returned to the room, Lu Qiyue had finished showering but was standing frozen in front of the round bed.
A smile played on Ruan Xingchen’s lips. Yueyue had discovered the bed’s little secret.
Wrapping her arms around Lu Qiyue’s waist, Ruan Xingchen rested her chin on her shoulder, inhaling her scent with quiet longing. Her voice, low and teasing, brushed against Lu Qiyue’s ear:
“What’s wrong? Do you like it that much? You’re staring.”
“Ah Ruan… why didn’t you tell me earlier?” Lu Qiyue’s voice trembled, on the verge of tears.
The memory of her earlier words sent a wave of humiliation crashing over her.
What had she even been saying?!
Did Ah Ruan think she was some kind of… insatiable pervert?!
“I did say I switched with Song Yang. You were the one who said you liked it. You know I always listen to you.” Ruan Xingchen’s eyes sparkled with mischief as she feigned innocence.
Lu Qiyue: “…”
“Let’s switch now—”
“Too late. Song Yang’s asleep. She’s been helping me catch up on work these past two days and hasn’t rested properly.” Ruan Xingchen cut her off, decisively vetoing the room change.
Lu Qiyue: “…”
“Yueyue, since… you said you liked it so much, why don’t we… try it?” Ruan Xingchen’s lips grazed Lu Qiyue’s ear, sending a shiver through her. The warmth of Ruan Xingchen’s breath fanned across her flushed cheeks, igniting a heat that spread through her entire body.
When Lu Qiyue didn’t respond, Ruan Xingchen repeated the question, her voice laced with desire and a hypnotic allure.
“Let’s try, hmm?”
“If you don’t answer, I’ll take that as a yes.”
Lu Qiyue couldn’t tell if Ruan Xingchen was doing it on purpose—drawing out her words like her fingers, which traced slow, deliberate paths over her sensitive skin, leaving her aching for more.
Her breathing grew uneven.
She found she couldn’t muster the strength to refuse. Or perhaps, in this moment, something deeper had taken root—a longing she could no longer suppress.
“Ruan…” The sound escaped Lu Qiyue’s lips before she realized how seductive her own voice was—no less alluring than Ruan Xingchen’s.
If ears and the small of her back were Lu Qiyue’s sensitive spots, then those two syllables—”Ah Ruan”—were the words that stirred Ruan Xingchen’s deepest desires.
Ruan Xingchen’s fingers trailed downward as her lips advanced inch by inch, until finally, she caught the first button of Lu Qiyue’s pajamas between her teeth.
