The Movie Queen Confesses to Me on Weibo Everyday - Chapter 3
Lu Qiyue’s hands trembled as she picked up her phone and opened Weibo. She found Ruan Xingchen’s account without a mistake and clicked into it.
When she saw Ruan Xingchen’s post from the middle of the night with her own eyes, tears started streaming down Lu Qiyue’s face.
Xingchen… does she really still love me?!
In that instant, Lu Qiyue was filled with joy.
But just a few seconds later, her happiness was replaced by worry.
Xingchen’s status now was even more high-profile than six years ago. Posting something like this publicly—wasn’t she just asking for trouble?
Lu Qiyue quickly opened the comments. Sure enough, nearly all of them were hateful.
“Damn, an award-winning actress openly confessing love to a woman? My eyes must be broken, seriously.”
“A woman liking women? RXC is so disgusting, I’m unfollowing her, unfollowing for good.”
“How can women be with women? That’s just messing with morality.”
“I used to be a hardcore fan of Ruan Xingchen, but who knew she’d become so twisted? No more love, no more love. Such a pervert, let anyone who likes that like it.”
“I strongly demand the Broadcasting Administration kick Ruan Xingchen out of showbiz and ban all her works. Otherwise, I’m worried my kids will start copying her.”
“My daughter’s a fan of Ruan Xingchen. I used to encourage it, but now? I’m going home to throw away all her merch my daughter’s been collecting.”
…
The more Lu Qiyue read, the harder she cried.
“Ruan Xingchen, how can you be so stupid? You’re ruining your own future.”
“No, I have to stop her. I have to stop her…” Lu Qiyue cried while switching to her contacts page. Then she dialed a series of numbers she knew by heart.
She was calling Ruan Xingchen’s phone number from six years ago. She didn’t know if it would even connect, but this was her only chance to reach her.
Ruan Xingchen, please don’t have changed your number.
She prayed silently.
Maybe fate was listening. After the dial tone, the call went through. Then a voice came—one that made Lu Qiyue’s heart tremble.
“Lu Qiyue, I’ve been waiting for this call for six years.”
That voice… though more mature than six years ago, Lu Qiyue could still recognize it as Ruan Xingchen’s.
The person on the other end was Ruan Xingchen—the woman she had loved all along.
Lu Qiyue’s chest tightened and tears poured down like broken beads.
So she wasn’t the only one suffering all these years.
“Ruan Xingchen… please take down the post, then post something explaining it… say your account was hacked, that it wasn’t you who posted it…” Lu Qiyue sobbed. “That post will ruin you.”
The same reason from six years ago.
On the other end, Ruan Xingchen sighed deeply, then answered decisively:
“No.”
“Lu Qiyue, it’s been six years. I don’t want to wait another six.”
“But…” Lu Qiyue tried to protest, but Ruan Xingchen cut her off.
“Yueyue, let’s meet.”
“Whatever you want to say, say it face to face. I’ll text you the address.”
Before Lu Qiyue could say anything more, the call ended. A moment later, a message arrived.
The address was a café near their university town—a place they used to go together often.
Lu Qiyue didn’t hesitate. After getting up, washing up, and sending a leave request to her boss, she grabbed her bag and rushed out.
There was only one thought on her mind: she had to persuade Ruan Xingchen to take down that post.
Ruan Xingchen set the meeting for two hours later, but Lu Qiyue arrived an hour early.
Standing outside the café, looking up at the sign that read First Encounter, her feet suddenly felt like lead, unable to move.
Countless memories of being there with Ruan Xingchen flooded her mind, and she couldn’t help but tear up again.
“Ruan Xingchen…” Lu Qiyue whispered the name.
Soon they would meet again—their first meeting in six years. Lu Qiyue’s heart was full of both hope and fear.
Suddenly she remembered something. She hurriedly pulled a mirror from her bag and looked at herself.
Only then did she realize she had rushed out with just simple skincare, no makeup at all.
She had lots of photos of Ruan Xingchen at home. The most recent one was taken just a week ago at an event by fans, so she knew exactly how Ruan Xingchen looked now.
But herself… like this?
She can’t see me like this.
Panic rose.
No way.
She absolutely couldn’t meet Ruan Xingchen looking like this.
Lu Qiyue rummaged through her bag again and found her emergency makeup kit. She breathed a sigh of relief.
Ignoring her nervousness, she quickly entered the café and headed straight to the restroom.
She needed to put on makeup.
She had to look her best when she saw Ruan Xingchen again.
In her rush, she didn’t notice that the moment she walked in, a woman sitting in a corner, wearing a face mask and baseball cap, made a small gesture to the staff.
Soon, the café doors were locked, and the employees quietly left.
The woman removed her mask and cap. It was Ruan Xingchen.
She sat at table ten, eyes fixed on the restroom door, sipping coffee patiently waiting for Lu Qiyue to come out.
Worried Ruan Xingchen had arrived first, Lu Qiyue didn’t spend long putting on makeup and hurried out.
She looked for table ten—the spot Ruan Xingchen had chosen.
But when Lu Qiyue saw who was already there, her breath caught.
Ruan Xingchen was already here.
“Why stand so far away? Do I look that different from six years ago? Or have I suddenly turned scary?” Ruan Xingchen looked up and smiled lightly, teasing.
The voice, the tone, the person—it all felt so familiar.
Lu Qiyue blinked, then took tiny, slow steps forward.
She wanted to look at her a little longer, because once she heard what Ruan Xingchen would say, they might end on bad terms.
Maybe… maybe they’d never see each other again.
Lu Qiyue moved so slowly that Ruan Xingchen lost patience.
If there are a hundred steps between us and you’re only willing to take one, then I’ll take the other ninety-nine.
Ruan Xingchen stood up, crossed the room in a few strides, and pulled Lu Qiyue tightly into her arms.
“Yueyue, I missed you.”
She held her tighter, the six years of longing finally pouring out.
She wanted to press Lu Qiyue into her very bones and never let go.
Lu Qiyue had thought of everything she might say when they met again—but never this.
Tears spilled uncontrollably, and her heart gave in.
“Ruan Xingchen… I missed you too.”
