The Movie Queen Confesses to Me on Weibo Everyday - Chapter 4
Lu Qiyue finally couldn’t resist reaching out and embracing Ruan Xingchen tightly, just as Ruan Xingchen had done to her.
Lu Qiyue hadn’t forgotten the purpose of her visit, but just this once, she allowed herself to be reckless.
Feeling Ruan Xingchen’s warmth for real filled Lu Qiyue’s heart with contentment.
Ruan Xingchen wasn’t unfamiliar with hearing sweet words from Lu Qiyue, but this was the first time in six years she had said such things.
Ruan Xingchen loved hearing Lu Qiyue’s sweet nothings because every time she spoke them, they set her heart ablaze—and then… she just wanted to kiss her.
And that’s exactly what Ruan Xingchen did. She released her hold on Lu Qiyue, cupped her face in her hands, and gazed at those stunning features that had barely changed in six years—if anything, they had only grown more captivating.
Tears still clung to Lu Qiyue’s cheeks. Six years ago, Ruan Xingchen had hated seeing Lu Qiyue cry because it always made her heart ache. Even now, that instinct hadn’t faded.
Gently brushing away the tears with her fingers, Ruan Xingchen could hold back no longer. A kiss brimming with longing softly met Lu Qiyue’s tender lips.
Lu Qiyue shuddered, instinctively trying to pull away.
They were in a café—a public place with other people around. The thought of someone filming Ruan Xingchen kissing her and posting it online terrified Lu Qiyue. After just one Weibo post, Ruan Xingchen had already faced so much vitriol. If this got out, the trolls would hurl even uglier words at her.
No. This couldn’t happen.
She couldn’t ruin Ruan Xingchen.
Fresh tears spilled down Lu Qiyue’s cheeks as she shook her head, desperately trying to put distance between them.
“Ruan Xingchen… let… let me go,” Lu Qiyue pleaded between sobs.
“I won’t.”
Those words were like a spark igniting a fire in Ruan Xingchen’s heart. What had been a tender kiss turned fierce in an instant. Her hands shifted from cradling Lu Qiyue’s face to gripping the back of her head, leaving no room for escape.
Ruan Xingchen deepened the kiss without hesitation, almost punishingly, leaving Lu Qiyue breathless.
Only when she had vented enough did Ruan Xingchen finally release her.
Gazing at Lu Qiyue’s flushed face, Ruan Xingchen licked her lips, tempted to continue.
But this was their first meeting in six years. She couldn’t rush things—couldn’t risk scaring her away.
“Let’s sit down,” Ruan Xingchen said, guiding the dazed Lu Qiyue to Booth 10. She pushed an untouched cup of coffee toward her.
“Cappuccino. Your favorite back then. I doubt your tastes have changed.”
Lu Qiyue stared at the coffee, eyes welling up. Ruan Xingchen was right—she still loved cappuccinos. After all these years, Ruan Xingchen remembered even the smallest details.
But that only made Lu Qiyue more determined not to drag Ruan Xingchen down.
She was the sun—meant to shine brilliantly, not be overshadowed by a dark cloud like herself.
Biting her lip lightly, Lu Qiyue finally spoke up: “That Weibo post… you should take it down.”
“I saw all those nasty comments attacking you under that Weibo post… So vicious…”
“So you’re feeling sorry for me?!” Ruan Xingchen interrupted Lu Qiyue, her lips curling into a smile. Clearly, Lu Qiyue’s words pleased her.
Lu Qiyue: “…I’m not.”
Her rebuttal came out in a whisper.
Of course she felt sorry—how could she bear to see the person she loved being subjected to such vile insults?
Hearing Lu Qiyue’s denial, Ruan Xingchen didn’t argue. She merely raised an eyebrow and asked, “Oh? Then what do you mean?”
Lu Qiyue pressed her lips together, wrestling with herself.
She knew what she was about to say would upset Ruan Xingchen, but she had to say it.
“Ruan Xingchen.”
“Hmm, I’m here.”
“You should… take down that Weibo post.” Lu Qiyue kept her head lowered, her voice growing quieter.
She didn’t dare meet Ruan Xingchen’s eyes, afraid to see disappointment in them—or worse, the reflection of her own cowardly self.
Watching Lu Qiyue bury her head like an ostrich, Ruan Xingchen sighed.
“After six years apart, is this really all you wanted to say to me?” Ruan Xingchen asked.
Lu Qiyue’s head remained bowed, her eyes stinging. She didn’t want to say this at all. She wanted to tell her how much she had missed her—so, so much. She wanted to ask if the Weibo post was true. Did Ruan Xingchen still love her? She wanted to confess that she felt the same, that she… still loved her too. But the cruel words beneath that post haunted her like a curse, flashing relentlessly before her eyes.
She couldn’t ignore them.
Ruan Xingchen sighed again, then moved to sit beside Lu Qiyue. She lifted Lu Qiyue’s chin with a finger, forcing their eyes to meet.
“Lu Qiyue, look at me.”
Her voice was mature and magnetic, laced with the unique charm that made it impossible to resist.
Lu Qiyue finally raised her gaze, meeting Ruan Xingchen’s deep, mesmerizing eyes.
“Lu Qiyue, there’s no turning back once the arrow leaves the bow. You know me—I won’t delete that post. In fact, I’ll keep posting similar ones every day until you agree to get back together with me.” Her tone was resolute, almost defiant, reflecting both determination and a hint of shamelessness.
Lu Qiyue’s eyes widened. “You… you’re blackmailing me?”
Ruan Xingchen hadn’t been like this before. Had the entertainment industry… corrupted her?
Seeing that her approach wasn’t working, Lu Qiyue switched tactics. “Actually… I’m seeing someone now. Your posts are causing trouble for me—they might affect my relationship…”
“They won’t.” Ruan Xingchen cut her off firmly, her gaze unwavering. “I know who you’re dating, so my posts won’t interfere.”
Lu Qiyue was genuinely baffled.
She knew who she was dating? How? She didn’t even know herself!
Noticing the faint amusement in Ruan Xingchen’s eyes, a wild possibility struck her. “Have you been to my place?!”
Ruan Xingchen didn’t deny it. Instead, she took a sip of Lu Qiyue’s coffee—too sweet for her taste.
Unlike Lu Qiyue, she didn’t care for sugary drinks. She preferred her coffee black and bitter. Because she had endured enough bitterness to leave all the sweetness for Lu Qiyue.
But now, she thought it wouldn’t hurt to occasionally try something sweet.
“I’ve been there. The password hasn’t changed, the furnishings are the same, and by the bedside… there’s still our first photo together. So with how often I appear in your place, I must be your significant other,” Ruan Xingchen reasoned flawlessly, leaving Lu Qiyue no room for rebuttal.
