The Movie Queen Confesses to Me on Weibo Everyday - Chapter 6
Lu Qiyue imagined Ruan Xingchen using her shower gel to lather her entire body, scrubbing her fair skin with her loofah, and finally drying off with her towel… Hmm, she wondered how much Ruan Xingchen’s body had changed in the past six years… Her thoughts drifted back to six years ago when Ruan Xingchen had coaxed and tricked her into taking a bath together, and her cheeks began to warm involuntarily.
Suddenly, Lu Qiyue’s gaze caught the silhouette of a figure through the frosted glass door of the bathroom, and an inexplicable curiosity stirred within her.
She actually wanted to push the door open and see for herself.
Just then, the sound of running water stopped. Lu Qiyue snapped out of her daze, realizing her impulsive thoughts and the heat in her cheeks. She hurried to the kitchen, splashing handful after handful of cold water on her face until the burning sensation subsided.
Water still dripped from her cheeks as she leaned against the sink, filled with frustration.
She was so weak—Ruan Xingchen hadn’t even done anything, yet her heart was already pounding uncontrollably.
“Lu Qiyue, Lu Qiyue,” she muttered to herself, “there’s no future for you and Ruan Xingchen. Stop longing for what isn’t yours—you’ll only hurt her.” Each word she spoke stabbed at her heart with icy pain.
When Ruan Xingchen stepped out of the bathroom and didn’t see Lu Qiyue, her anxious gaze darted around until she finally spotted the familiar figure in the kitchen.
Unlike the flustered mess Lu Qiyue had been before she went to shower, she now seemed enveloped in loneliness, her mood visibly low.
This version of Lu Qiyue made Ruan Xingchen want to hold her tight, to comfort her, to ask what was wrong and reassure her that she was there.
And that was exactly what she intended to do.
Dressed in the pajamas Lu Qiyue had prepared for her, Ruan Xingchen stepped forward, ready to pull her into an embrace. But just as she moved, Lu Qiyue abruptly lifted her head, their eyes meeting—and Ruan Xingchen caught a glimpse of the sorrow Lu Qiyue hadn’t managed to hide in time.
Frowning, Ruan Xingchen opened her mouth to ask what was wrong, but Lu Qiyue spoke first: “You’re done showering? Do you want some milk? Or would you rather go straight to bed?”
Milk helped with sleep, but Ruan Xingchen had always hated its milky smell. Despite that, whenever they were together, she would always prepare a glass for Lu Qiyue before bed, claiming it was for “nutrition” and that “good sleep helps you grow taller.”
Though, to this day, Lu Qiyue still hadn’t managed to outgrow Ruan Xingchen. Note: Ruan Xingchen is 174 cm tall, while Lu Qiyue stands at 165 cm.
Back then, Lu Qiyue had known about Ruan Xingchen’s aversion to milk, but she couldn’t let herself be the only one getting a good night’s sleep. So, she’d always found… special ways to get Ruan Xingchen to drink a little.
The memory of their sweet past tugged at Lu Qiyue’s lips, but she quickly suppressed the smile when she remembered Ruan Xingchen was right in front of her.
Ruan Xingchen’s dislike for milk hadn’t changed. She instinctively wrinkled her nose. “No. You know I don’t like it.”
When Lu Qiyue appeared, Ruan Xingchen’s initially firm refusal suddenly softened: “But if you feed me like before… I suppose I could accept that.”
Ruan Xingchen’s gaze lingered on Lu Qiyue’s lips.
That soft, addictive feeling was exactly the same as six years ago—unchanged in the slightest.
Though they’d already kissed once today, right now… she wanted to do it again.
Noticing Ruan Xingchen’s heated stare, Lu Qiyue panicked, afraid she might lose control if Ruan Xingchen got handsy again. She quickly nudged Ruan Xingchen toward the guest room. “Then go lie down first and try to get sleepy.”
Ruan Xingchen let herself be guided, but when they reached the guest room door, Lu Qiyue couldn’t push her any further.
Looking up in confusion, she asked, “What’s wrong?”
Ruan Xingchen stared toward the master bedroom, lips pursed in displeasure. “I’m not sleeping in the guest room. I want your bed.”
“Without your scent, I can’t sleep.”
Lu Qiyue shivered, instinctively lowering her eyes to hide the turmoil Ruan Xingchen’s words stirred in her.
She wanted to refuse, but Ruan Xingchen’s added “I can’t sleep” softened her resolve.
Fine. It’s just sleeping—nothing else. Lu Qiyue consoled herself inwardly before relenting.
“Then… my room it is.”
Delight flashed in Ruan Xingchen’s eyes. Before Lu Qiyue could urge her, she swiftly slipped into the room and sprawled across the bed.
Taking a deep breath, she confirmed it—the sheets carried Lu Qiyue’s familiar scent.
Ruan Xingchen had been drowsy earlier, but now, lying on the bed they’d shared countless nights, sleep eluded her.
She knew Lu Qiyue had only let her in out of momentary weakness. Once she woke, she might coldly kick her out—just as decisively as she’d ended things six years ago.
But if the outcome was inevitable… would pushing a little further really matter? Immersed in Lu Qiyue’s essence, Ruan Xingchen pondered.
After settling Ruan Xingchen in bed, Lu Qiyue left, quietly closing the door before spacing out on the sofa.
She remembered Ruan Xingchen’s Weibo post—the original reason for their meeting today. The unexpected turn of events had led to bringing Ruan Xingchen home, but the issue remained unresolved.
She’d discuss it after Ruan Xingchen woke.
Half an hour passed as Lu Qiyue mentally rehearsed countless arguments.
Has it been thirty minutes already…? She must be asleep by now.
Recalling Ruan Xingchen’s restless sleeping habits, Lu Qiyue tiptoed to the bedroom and gently turned the knob—only to lock eyes with her.
“You… why aren’t you asleep?”
Expression blank, Ruan Xingchen replied flatly, “I can’t sleep.”
Her calm demeanor suggested this was routine.
It might’ve been routine for Ruan Xingchen, but Lu Qiyue’s heart ached.
How had she survived these six years?
“What should we do?” Frantic, Lu Qiyue pulled out her phone to search for solutions to similar cases online.
Seeing Lu Qiyue’s fingers trembling slightly as she typed, Ruan Xingchen’s lips curled up in delight. She still cared about her after all. So maybe she wouldn’t refuse if she did something slightly inappropriate?
With this thought, Ruan Xingchen snatched Lu Qiyue’s phone away, pulling her onto the bed in one swift motion and holding her tightly. “Stop searching, it’s useless. You should just sleep with me instead.”
