The Movie Queen Wants to Get Back with Her Ex - Chapter 30
Chapter 30: Enduring the Pain
Si Shao never expected her susceptibility period to arrive so suddenly and so intensely. But she believed she wouldn’t be dominated by something as trivial as pheromones. Just because others couldn’t endure it didn’t mean she couldn’t.
At this point, a body pillow was no longer enough. Si Shao went straight to Yan Xijing’s room, where her scent lingered everywhere. She believed that in this room, she could make it through.
Si Shao’s parents were already on their way back home. They’d been vacationing for a year and were just about to return to check on her when they got a call from the housekeeper. The couple rushed home overnight and also asked Yan Xijing’s parents to contact their daughter and urge her to return immediately.
Si Shao’s father, Si Hengyu, was a top-tier Alpha, and her mother, Liang Rui, was a Grade-A Omega. Both were anxious in the car.
Liang Rui vividly remembered the time when Si Hengyu had gone through his own susceptibility outbreak. If there’s no Omega nearby during this period, it could be truly dangerous. “Hengyu, will Xiao Shao be alright?”
Si Hengyu also remembered what his own episode was like—he genuinely thought he might have died without Liang Rui’s help back then. But he couldn’t say that out loud now. He just held Liang Rui’s hand tightly and said, “Don’t worry. I’ve already arranged for suppressant injections. The Yans are trying to reach Xiao Jing too. As long as she can get back soon, everything will be fine.”
“Okay.”
Liang Rui clung to Si Hengyu’s arm, fraught with worry, waiting to arrive.
Meanwhile, Si Shao was already semi-conscious. She never thought the outbreak would be so severe. Her whole body felt like it was being bitten by ants. Her teeth itched—she wanted nothing more than to bite into Yan Xijing’s gland. In a room saturated with Yan Xijing’s scent, all she could do was desperately endure it, unable to truly ease her suffering.
As dawn broke, Si Hengyu and Liang Rui finally arrived home. They could already smell Si Shao’s pheromones from outside the house—an ominous sign. They rushed in immediately.
Yan Xijing’s parents and Bai Hui were still trying to reach her, but her phone remained off. They had no choice but to contact Yang Xin.
Yang Xin was startled when he got the call in the middle of the night. He had no idea Yan Xijing had gone to film a variety show—she had told him she just needed a couple of days to rest.
It was the middle of the night, and Yang Xin didn’t dare make a public search; otherwise, scandalous rumors would spread before they even found her.
So, he tried quietly contacting a few people most likely to know her whereabouts. By 10 a.m. the next morning, he finally tracked her down. As he was preparing to call the show’s production team, Si Shao’s assistant provided him the director’s contact information.
He called and finally got through to Yan Xijing.
She had handed in her phone to the production team upon arrival—she just wanted peace and quiet and hadn’t thought much of it. But not even half a day had passed before Yang Xin’s call came through.
“Brother Yang? What’s wrong?”
“You’re asking me what’s wrong?! Yan Xijing, how could you secretly take on a variety show behind my back?!”
“It’s not a big deal.”
She replied carelessly. It wasn’t the first time she had done this. For small shows like this, she usually just informed Yang Xin afterward. She didn’t understand why he was so angry this time.
“Xiao Jing, Si Shao’s susceptibility outbreak has started. If you return now, it might still be in time.”
“…What did you say?!”
As soon as she heard the words “susceptibility outbreak,” her mind went blank—especially since she’d just seen related news reports recently.
Yang Xin sighed and continued, “We’ve been searching for you like crazy. Her outbreak started last night. If you return now, you might still make it. If not… her parents might find another Omega for her.”
“I’ll come back immediately.”
“And call your parents too.”
“Got it.”
She hung up and began packing her things.
Mo Ning approached when he saw her about to leave. “Xiao Jing, the show isn’t finished yet. What’s going on? Is there an emergency?”
“Si Shao’s outbreak started. I have to go back right now.”
No matter what the future held for her and Si Shao, she had to go back—now. She couldn’t let Si Shao suffer with a stranger Omega…
Mo Ning had originally wanted to stop her, but he could tell from her expression that she wouldn’t listen to anything he said. So he didn’t argue—he went to talk with the production team instead.
Yan Xijing finished packing and turned her phone on, only to see over a hundred missed calls—her parents, Si Shao’s parents, Yang Xin, Si Shao’s assistant… Si Shao had only called once, over ten hours ago.
That must’ve been when her susceptibility outbreak began.
The more she thought about it, the more panicked she became. Just as she was about to head out, a heavy downpour started. Mo Ning grabbed her wrist before she could leave.
“What are you doing?”
Yan Xijing was anxious and in no mood for niceties.
But Mo Ning didn’t let go. “I’ll take you to the airport.”
Yan Xijing was feeling uncertain, so she didn’t refuse. However, once they arrived at the airport, they were told that flights were grounded due to the weather.
“What should I do? I need to get back quickly.”
She was truly panicking now. With no flights, and the storm showing no signs of letting up, she was out of options.
“How about a train?”
Mo Ning had checked the weather forecast—this rain might last for two more days. Flying was impossible.
Yan Xijing had barely ridden trains in her life, but this wasn’t the time for pride. They had to try.
Back at Si Shao’s house, she had already received her second suppressant injection—but it wasn’t working. Her condition was worsening. Her parents had cleared the room of any sharp-edged furniture to prevent her from hurting herself. Now, it was filled only with soft, rounded items.
Si Shao had never suffered this much before. She was hallucinating, feeling as if she were trapped in a sea of fire, unable to escape. Her pheromones had completely drowned out any remnants of Yan Xijing’s scent. With no comfort, she could only rely on sheer willpower and imagination to endure.
Liang Rui was in tears. “Hengyu, what should we do? Will Xiao Shao be okay?”
“She will,” Si Hengyu replied firmly. “Don’t worry. I won’t let anything happen to our daughter. Absolutely not.”
With that, he sent out a message.
