The Neighborhood High School Girl, Miss Isezaki, Is the Great Saintess Returned from Another World~ And I, Suddenly Awakened as Her Exclusive Mana Supply Uncle, Travel Between Earth and Another World with Time-Space Magic~ - 130. Dangerously Amazing

- Dangerously Amazing
As Isezaki-san and I stepped down from the carriage, we saw Colin carrying a bucket and giving water to the horses.
During our previous journey, Holly, the coachman, used to take care of the horses while the escorts had their meals, eating during the journey. It seems Colin is following suit.
I’ve seen Colin’s unfamiliarity with maid duties multiple times, so I was a bit worried as I observed her, but her horse care seems to be fine… in fact, she seems very skilled and experienced.
Could Colin really be at the level of a legendary jockey? No, maybe a legendary stablehand or trainer, considering her horse care skills? Could she even win Japan’s first Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe? …But I digress.
(Note:”Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe” is a prestigious horse race held annually at Longchamp Racecourse in Paris, France. It is one of the most important and well-known horse races in the world, attracting top thoroughbred horses from around the globe. The race usually takes place in early October and is run over a distance of around 2,400 meters (about 1.5 miles). It has a rich history dating back to its first running in 1920 and is often referred to as the “Arc.”)
“Oh, are you two having your meal outside too?”
As I gazed at Colin, Regina, one of the Stinger members, approached us during their meal.
“Yes. It’s not good for the body to stay inside the carriage all the time.”
“I see, that makes sense. But since you two are our protectees, try to eat where we can keep an eye on you. …By the way, Matsunaga-san. I heard from the maid of the princess’s mansion that there’s a person with a large-capacity ‘Storage Space’ who can store entire forts, so we were asked to guard that person and the lady. Is it true that you have such a large ‘Storage Space’?”
“Yes, it is. Otherwise, I wouldn’t be entrusted with missions like this.”
“Hmm… I heard when we received the request that there’s someone who can ‘store entire forts,’ but I couldn’t quite believe it. Frankly, we thought it might be some kind of metaphor or something…”
Regina fixed her gaze on me with a mixture of interest and doubt.
“If that’s the case, would you like to see it for yourself?”
“Huh, really? Gandor says, ‘We just have to do our guard duty,’ but as a scout, I’m naturally curious. If you could show us what it’s all about, I’d appreciate it.”
Scratching her head apologetically, Regina seemed doubtful about my ‘Storage Space,’ but her concerns were valid.
Since we’re going to work together, it’s important for the guards to see what we can do and trust us. We couldn’t even have a meeting due to time constraints.
I promptly activated my ‘Storage Space’ and took out a portion of the fort setup.
What appeared with a rumble was a towering stone tower and watchtower.
The sudden appearance of the tower startled the horses, and Colin hurriedly calmed them down. I’ll apologize to her later.
Regina looked up at the tower, her eyes wide open, and the other three members of Stinger were gaping with their mouths wide open as they remained seated.
“W-Whoa…”
“Yes, this is just a part of it. There are about four more of these towers. There are also stone walls and warehouses, and the plan is to set up the entire fort using them. Would you like to see the others too?”
Regina vigorously shook her head at my words.
“N-No, that’s enough! Just the fact that there’s a ‘Storage Space’ capable of containing such towers is something I’ve never seen or heard of!!”
It seems she now believes in it. I returned the tower to the ‘Storage Space,’ and Regina, who had regained her composure, breathed a sigh of relief and muttered to herself.
“Wow… I never knew there was such a ‘Storage Space’ holder. This is incredible…”
“Yes, it’s amazing. Master is amazing!”
Isezaki-san proudly puffed out her chest. Seeing that, Regina raised both hands in surrender.
“…You’re right. I said something bad about your husband earlier, I apologize. He was truly amazing. There’s definitely a reason he captured you.”
Apologizing to Regina, Isezaki-san smiled brightly.
“Hehe, as long as you understand. Oh, since we’re here, shall I tell you our first meeting story?”
“Huh, well, it’s not necessary…”
Regina declined with a wry smile. As expected.
Isezaki-san probably intended to tell the same fake first meeting story she had told Levia-sama in the carriage before.
That’s a long story that spans several hours, so it’s not appropriate to discuss it here. I would have stopped Regina if she hadn’t declined.
“Mmm… If you ever want to hear it, just let me know, okay?”
“Y-Yeah, well, if there’s a chance. …Anyway, hey, Seriphos! Did you see that!? Seems like her husband is an amazing person, and these two are perfect for each other! So stop moping around and just accept it already, okay!?”
Regina shouted loudly, looking back. Then Seriphos, who had been squatting down, stood up and forced a smile through his tears.
“Ugh… I-If it brings happiness to Isezaki-san, even if it’s painful, I’ll swallow my tears and step aside…! Matsunaga-san! I entrust her to you. Please take care of her…!”
With that, Seriphos bowed deeply. …Well, Seriphos tearfully said some nice words, but before stepping aside or entrusting anything, Seriphos had already been turned down by Isezaki-san from the start.
If you look at Isezaki-san beside him, she’s frowning as if to say, “What is this guy saying?”
Then Regina whispered to us.
“Sorry, sorry, it might be irritating, but please bear with me for a bit. It’s easier for him to get over it if we make it clear like this. It makes work easier, so please bear with it.”
“Yes, understood. If that’s the case… Oh, before we go to eat, here.”
“Oh? What’s this?”
What I took out of the ‘Storage Space’ was a big bag of value-sized potato chips (consomme flavor) that I bought at the supermarket.
I want the people who are guarding us to guard us happily. So, this is a treat from me.
I feel like we got along better with the guards last time after I offered them cola, so it’s better to offer treats for a better environment.
I don’t plan on building a house, but if I ever do, I think I’d be the type to offer treats to the carpenters. It’s not consideration, just plain calculation.
“These are the products I handle in my peddling business. Please try them while you’re having your meal.”
As I opened the bag of potato chips, Regina cautiously picked up a chip and stared at it.
“I’m sorry for taking something you gave me so cautiously. It’s just that, because of my job, I tend to look at unfamiliar things with skeptical eyes.”
“Oh, don’t worry about it. If you want, I can eat one for you.”
“N-No, it’s fine. I trust you—I mean, gulp.”
With a chip in her mouth, Regina blinked her eyes.
“Wow, this… Salty? Crunchy? …Anyway, it’s delicious! I’ve never eaten anything like this before! Matsunaga-san, do you usually sell these kinds of things!? I guess you can get along well with the princess! I’ll gladly take these! Hey, everyone! These are amazing!”
With the bag of chips in hand, Regina returned to the Stinger party. It seems like my attempt to please her worked out well. I’ll give some treats to Colin later.
“Sorry for the wait. Shall we have lunch?”
“Yes, sir.”
Satisfied with Regina’s reaction, I called out to Isezaki-san, and the two of us headed to a nearby shade of trees to have our lunch.
