The Neighborhood High School Girl, Miss Isezaki, Is the Great Saintess Returned from Another World~ And I, Suddenly Awakened as Her Exclusive Mana Supply Uncle, Travel Between Earth and Another World with Time-Space Magic~ - 49. Great Boar
49. Great Boar
“Oraaaaaah!”
With a roar, the leader swung his sword down. The bloodied Great Boar thrashed about in agony in response to the powerful blow that seemed more like a slam than a cut.
At that moment, Geeta seized the brief opening presented by the Great Boar. Dodging the tusks thrust upwards by the Great Boar, Geeta thrust her sword into its pristine white throat.
“Guroooooooooon!”
The Great Boar let out a dying wail.
Despite the Great Boar’s strongest resistance yet, thrashing its limbs violently, Geeta relentlessly pushed the blade deeper into its body.
Eventually, with the sword still impaled, the Great Boar collapsed headfirst to the ground, never to rise again.
“Uoshaaaaaa!”
“Uoooooaaaah!”
Geeta raised her fist triumphantly, while the adventurers erupted in joy. Watching this spectacle, I couldn’t contain my excitement despite my age.
“That was amazing!”
I exclaimed, turning back from the window. However, the reactions of the two inside the carriage were rather composed, as if they were accustomed to such scenes.
“You’re right, sir. Personally, I would have felt more at ease if you had focused a bit more on defense…”
Isezaki-san looked worriedly at the adventurers. Indeed, it was a situation where scratches and some bleeding were to be expected.
Cyril rushed to the injured adventurers. With a faint light emanating from her hands, the bleeding stopped immediately. It seemed Cyril was skilled in healing magic.
In contrast to Isezaki-san’s concern, Lady Levia smiled with satisfaction.
“It seems their skill is indeed formidable. I’ve heard that even C-rank parties struggle against a Great Boar. Yet they managed to defeat it in no time.”
If a noble like Lady Levia, likely accustomed to guards, said so, then the quality of these adventurers must be quite high.
Indeed, the best defense is a good offense. Strength may indeed be power. It seems that to some extent, wounds can be healed with restorative magic.
However, it’s true that it was a bit precarious, as Isezaki-san worried. Well, as long as I’m just watching, it doesn’t bother me.
In that case, what other attack methods are there?
Using bows and magic for hit-and-run attacks from a distance? …No, that would endanger the carriage.
Then, defending with a shield while attacking? But the shields the adventurers have seem lightweight and suitable for mobility, and they probably wouldn’t be able to defend against the Great Boar’s attacks…
And so, before I knew it, I was lost in thoughts of what I would do in their situation.
Of course, despite the presence of professional adventurers, I had no intention of presumptuously offering advice.
It’s like someone who’s never played baseball saying things like, “Hey, shouldn’t they bunt here?” or “Isn’t it time to change the pitcher?” while watching professional baseball on TV.
Well, it’s quite enjoyable. It’s okay to indulge in such fantasies in your mind.
And so, as I continued my daydreams of what I would do, I watched the adventurers dismantle the Great Boar, absentmindedly conjuring several small pocket dimensions in my palm.
—
After the dismantling was finished, we continued our journey at a slightly faster pace to make up for lost time.
Despite the brisk walking pace, the faces of the adventurers gazing out from the carriage window were uniformly bright. The reason for this was probably because their dinner tonight would be the Great Boar.
The meat of the Great Boar is said to be a high-class ingredient, not something adventurers come across often. Hmm, I see.
And so, as the day drew to a close…
Traveling at night by carriage is risky. Today’s journey was to end here, and tonight we would camp in a flat area near a river.
As the crackling of the campfire filled the air, and the adventurers prepared for their camp around it, I and Isezaki-san decided to visit them.
The reason, of course, was that I wanted to taste the Great Boar’s meat too. Apparently, it’s tastier than Earth Rat. I had no choice but to partake in such a delicacy.
With that in mind, I approached the adventurer leader, who was slicing up the Great Boar’s meat by the campfire.
