The Neighborhood High School Girl, Miss Isezaki, Is the Great Saintess Returned from Another World~ And I, Suddenly Awakened as Her Exclusive Mana Supply Uncle, Travel Between Earth and Another World with Time-Space Magic~ - 71. Seventh Day of the Journey
71. Seventh Day of the Journey
Despite the all-night vigilance of our escorts, we welcomed the morning sun without a second attack.
Originally, the assault was quite elaborate. I believe our escorts probably didn’t expect a second attack.
Nevertheless, the sad part about the job of guarding is that you can’t overlook the possibility of a worst-case scenario. Even though I’m unemployed, saying this sounds a bit odd.
The carriage departed early in the morning as planned, surrounded by adventurers with sleep-deprived faces.
However, shortly after the carriage set off, it had to stop abruptly.
This was because the bodies of a man and a woman were found abandoned in the nearby bushes. They were the two adventurers who had deserted me and fled, now lying lifeless.
Although they were such people, I hold no grudge against them. I think it’s understandable for them to run away like that. Not a single adventurer had anything bad to say about them.
Upon examining the bodies, it seemed they were shot from a distance with arrows. The encirclement of thieves that the robed man spoke of seemed to have been real after all.
While valuables were taken from the bodies, the fact that they were not desecrated may have been their only consolation.
Once the bodies were thoroughly inspected, the adventurers cremated them with fire magic. Leaving the bodies as they were could sometimes result in them becoming undead.
For adventurers, the death of fellow comrades is not uncommon, so their solemn handling and burial of the bodies left a strong impression. Only the ax-wielding warrior, who had been flirting with the archer woman a few days ago, had a deeply sorrowful expression.
And on that day at noon, Holly came to report to Levia-sama the results of the interrogation of the captured thieves. This took place inside the carriage where I and Isezaki-san were present.
Although it feels like I’m being heavily involved as a related party, it would be a lie to say I’m not curious. So, I just listened in.
According to the confession of the thief, the robed man suddenly appeared at the thieves’ hideout and requested the attack on Levia-sama.
Initially, there were some thieves who hesitated because the target was a count’s daughter. However, upon seeing the large sum of money as a reward and the formidable Earth Dragon, even those hesitant ones gladly joined in.
The robed man, despite having formidable power, sought assistance from the thieves, anticipating the possibility of failure. There seemed to be thieves who were concerned about his true identity, but the robed man never disclosed it.
Holly and the others apparently questioned the captured thieves thoroughly. However, since the thieves didn’t spill any more beans, Holly and the others judged that they probably weren’t informed about anything.
I couldn’t bear to ask how thoroughly they questioned them.

During the journey, we also investigated the time difference of “Dimensional Teleportation.”
As a result, it was revealed that one hour spent in Japan was shortened from ten hours in the other world to three hours.
Thanks to this, shopping in Japan became much easier. Amidst the strengthened security and the increasing number of tired adventurers, I wanted to at least give them some refreshments as a token of appreciation.
However, it was still late at night in Japan. Although I could teleport to a 24-hour supermarket using “Jump Warp,” it was far from a place where I wouldn’t attract attention.
So, I ended up going only to the nearby convenience store with my mama-chari.
One hour spent in the other world was still equal to one minute on Earth. From the perspective of the convenience store clerks, I probably looked like a customer coming to shop every few dozen minutes, but I chose not to dwell on it too much.
—
And so, ten days had passed since our departure. Except for the attack on the sixth day, we encountered no trouble at all, and we were able to safely continue our journey.
“We can see the capital now.”
Suddenly, Holly’s voice reached us inside the carriage from the coachman’s seat, and I peeked out the window.
Outside the window stretched a wall larger and taller than the fortress city of Grandain. In its center was a large gate, and I could see countless carriages and pedestrians passing through it, bustling with activity.
And thus, we finally arrived at our destination, the capital of the Carius Territory, Carnelia.
