Chapter 31.1: Military District
â—ŽTwinâ—Ž
Jenny and Jennifer had exactly the same face.
When Jennifer came to see Song Qi, she didn’t have anyone stop her and let her in.
She wasn’t surprised when she saw two identical faces.
She had already been prepared, so what was there to be surprised about?
“I thought you would run away as soon as you found out Jenny was caught.”
Jennifer’s eyes were red as she pleaded with Song Qi.
“Miss Song, please, can you let my sister go?”
Jennifer looked very young. Her palm-sized face had a few freckles. When she wasn’t wearing a white coat, she looked like an underage child.
Song Qi let out a cold laugh.
“Do you think I’d fall for that?”
“Don’t bother with your useless acting in front of me.”
Jennifer looked at Song Qi and suddenly started to take off her clothes.
“I didn’t bring anything. I won’t use any tricks on you. I just want you to let my sister go.”
“I can sneak into the military district and get Zhou out.”
When she saw Song Qi’s indifferent gaze, the hand that was taking off her clothes stopped.
It was no good dealing with people who were too smart.
Jennifer took out her military ID.
“I can enter the military district normally and get Zhou Shuyu out.”
Song Qi leaned back in her chair.
“You should know what I said. I will release her when Zhou Shuyu is brought back.”
“General Dale will also know my request soon. You were hired by her, so she wouldn’t just leave you to die.”
Jennifer took a deep breath and knelt down directly in front of Song Qi.
“Miss Song, I think my sister and I can switch to a new master.”
Jennifer stared at Song Qi’s flawless, almost divine face.
“General Dale is an extremely arrogant alpha.”
“She has all the flaws of an alpha. Once she makes up her mind about something, no one can change it.”
“Unless she dies.”
“My sister and I are twins. I don’t want her to suffer.”
“I can betray General Dale just to save my sister.”
Jennifer’s words were sincere, as if her feelings for her sister were really that deep.
But Song Qi wasn’t someone who could be easily fooled. Her patience had reached its limit.
“You think I have a more powerful backer?”
“So it’s easy for you to give up Ares Dale.”
Song Qi’s words were like ruthless blades, tearing through her inch by inch.
“I said, don’t act in front of me. I have no patience for people who play games with me.”
“I don’t like to waste my time with people like you.”
“Do I need to remind you? Adore Jennifer, born into a famous family in the capital. You are chimera twins. You and your sister competed to eat your sister in the womb?”
“You’ve had no pinky finger since birth. You’re inferior to your sister in every way. You don’t have a talent for making poison, nor do you have excellent skills.”
“You grew up in your sister’s shadow. Jenny always left you far behind in everything she did.”
“She might not be a real genius, but you’re a true idiot.”
“Is that your military ID?”
“You were removed from the list at the age of nine to live as your sister’s shadow, weren’t you?”
Song Qi’s words hit the dark depths of Jennifer’s heart.
She stared fiercely at Song Qi, her hands clenched tightly, her body trembling slightly, and her eyes were red with anger. This time, the redness in her eyes wasn’t an act.
“Acting like you have a deep sisterly bond? It depends on whether you can act well. If it weren’t for Jenny, you wouldn’t be able to survive in the Adore family. Would you even care about her?”
“Are you going to keep acting?”
No more acting. Jennifer decided she would never act in front of Song Qi again.
It was disgusting to deal with someone who was both smart and powerful.
“I gave Zhou Shuyu three doses of the medicine. Nothing will happen to her. I didn’t lie to you about that.”
“The medicine isn’t fake either.”
Jennifer finally started being honest.
Song Qi’s temper finally calmed down a little.
“Alright, then you go to the military district first, and I’ll see your sincerity.”
“I also have people in the military district. Let me see your sincerity, huh?”
Song Qi drew out the end of her sentence, making it sound quite threatening.
Jennifer’s eyes flickered, and she nodded.
Lorocia Military District.
Zhou Shuyu struggled with all her might.
Dale didn’t pay attention to Zhou Shuyu’s struggles and continued to carry her up the stairs.
But in the next second, something unexpected happened.
After a slight sting in the back of her neck, she lost all her strength.
She fell straight down like a rotting stump.
Before falling, she didn’t forget that the person on her back was injured, so she used herself as a cushion for Zhou Shuyu.
“What do you want to do?” Dale’s limbs were stiff and unable to move. She asked in a strained voice.
“Nothing. I just want to tell you that I’m not an omega.”
“And I won’t let you boss me around.”
Zhou Shuyu moved her soft hands, but she couldn’t feel any pain.
Was this the effect of the pheromones? To enjoy ultimate pleasure, all the hormones in her body were making her ignore the pain of her wounds?
Zhou Shuyu searched Dale’s body.
She found her communicator and a syringe.
After understanding the use of the syringe, Zhou Shuyu sneered.
“What did you want to do to me with this medicine?”
The syringe was engraved with familiar English words: omega inducing agent.
It was a medicine to trigger an omega’s heat cycle and increase the success rate of a complete mark.
“Were you preparing to mark me? Did you even think about the result of a failed mark?”
Zhou Shuyu was so angry that she felt her feelings couldn’t be expressed in words, so the air was as silent as death.
“Am I that important to you?”
“You’ll do whatever it takes to get me?”
“How much do you hate me that you have to humiliate me like this?”
Zhou Shuyu’s words were extremely unpleasant, which indeed made Dale frown.
“I’m not trying to humiliate you. I can give you everything you want. Isn’t that enough?”
Zhou Shuyu looked down at the alpha who couldn’t move on the ground.
“Then give me your life.”
“You want to kill me?” Dale’s face suddenly showed a smile. She didn’t know what she was smiling about.
“I can’t give you that. If I’m alive, everything I have can be yours.”
“Then you should never appear in front of me again.”
As Zhou Shuyu spoke, she unlocked Dale’s communicator and sent a text message to the number she knew by heart.
“Xiao Yu, I can’t let you go.”
Dale said affectionately.
This made Zhou Shuyu’s hand, which was operating the communicator, tremble.
Can’t let her go?
When Dale destroyed the original owner’s gland, she was affected by the alien beast. What about later?
Why did she have to transplant an omega gland into her?
Zhou Shuyu felt disgusted, extremely disgusted.
“Will you come to the capital with me?”
“You, and your mother, and that little kid.”
Zhou Shuyu pulled a dagger from Dale’s leggings.
She held the dagger, and the tip of the blade tapped Dale’s chest.
“No matter how powerful an alpha is, they’ll die if their heart is broken.”
Zhou Shuyu said.
“You can’t kill me. If you kill me, you won’t be able to leave the military district. Of course, you can’t leave even if you don’t kill me.”
Even now, even though Dale was lying on the ground defenseless, she still looked like a superior, without a hint of tension or fear.
Zhou Shuyu scoffed.
“Who said I was going to kill you?”
As Zhou Shuyu spoke, she pressed the tip of the knife against the alpha’s back of the neck. There was a protruding lump on the outside, and the alpha’s gland was in the deep layer.
She pressed down on the tip of the knife with force.
“You owe me, and you have to pay me back.”
Zhou Shuyu’s hand was trembling. The alpha’s pheromones filled the air, and her hands were as soft as a mollusk. It took her a great deal of effort to even hold the knife, and a simple movement made her break out in a sweat.
Her clothes were still wet, and now they had bloodstains on them.
Zhou Shuyu used all her strength to cut open the back of the person’s neck. Because she was too weak, she couldn’t turn the person over for a better angle, so her grip on the knife was very strange.
Her hands were covered in bl00d.
This move was very demanding, and for Zhou Shuyu, who was once a surgeon, after she found the location of the gland, the alpha’s back of the neck was already cut to the point where its original appearance was unrecognizable.
And Dale’s head was covered in a cold sweat.
A piece of soft flesh was cut off.
“You have to pay me back for what you owe me.”
Zhou Shuyu looked at the bloody piece, but she wasn’t very happy.
She felt that things were too simple.
How could Dale, a great general, be so weak?
Jennifer had told her that this medicine had a time limit and could make an alpha’s body lose control for two hours, but for alphas with strong physical qualities, it might not even last twenty minutes. If they were tortured greatly, the time limit would be even shorter.
And now, Dale showed no signs of regaining her ability to move.
Zhou Shuyu’s heart inexplicably quickened, and a bad feeling surged in her heart.
Zhou Shuyu raised her hand. The bright red bl00d flowed down to her wrist, and a slender line of bl00d wound its way down her arm, staining the splint on her arm, and blooming a bl00d-colored flower on the moist splint.
The pain of having her gland dug out couldn’t compare to a fraction of all the pain she had endured during her recovery.
But doing this to her enemy didn’t resolve any of her hatred.
“Are you satisfied now?”
“Are you willing to go to the capital with me now?”
Zhou Shuyu really wanted to spit on this beautiful face.
But Dale’s next words instantly made Zhou Shuyu’s expression go blank.
“This is the first time I’ve left the experimental pod.”
“Mother asked me to see the person she loves deeply.”
“I can’t mark you, but Mother can. I just need to temporarily mark you with Song Qi through the medicine, and then you can stay by my side.”
What was she saying? What was she babbling about?
Zhou Shuyu’s CPU was about to burn out.
Her face twitched twice, looking ugly.
“Am I dreaming?”
Thump, thump. Two sounds rang out, and a figure appeared on the second floor.
She leaned out halfway and spoke words that were like a nightmare.
