The Paranoid Female CEO’s Contracted Beauty (Omegaverse) - Chapter 1
It was late at night.
Inside a nightclub in the heart of Modu, a C-level Omega was moving from table to table, offering drinks to guests. As he toasted them politely, his eyes never stopped scanning the room. The flashing lights swayed across the private booth, helping him observe every Alpha seated inside. After looking around carefully, he finally fixed his eyes on a quiet corner to the left.
There, a female Alpha sat alone.
The dim lights revealed her long, black, wavy hair cascading over her shoulders. Her lips were a striking shade of red, like fresh bl00d. Combined with her sharp, alluring features, she looked dangerously beautiful. She gave off a fierce and commanding presence that was impossible to ignore.
Even in this chaotic and rowdy atmosphere, she stood out. Her entire being radiated a cold, unapproachable aura. She seemed completely out of place here, like a battle goddess who had accidentally descended into the human world. She was proud, powerful, flawless, and untouched by anything dirty or vulgar.
An Alpha like her was incredibly rare. The Omega was instantly drawn to her. He stood up with his wine glass, preparing to approach her and start a conversation. But just as he was about to take a step forward, a coworker grabbed his arm and pulled him aside into the corner.
Frustrated, the Omega raised his voice and said, “What do you mean by this? We all work here. It’s based on ability. If you can’t do it, that doesn’t mean others can’t.”
The coworker didn’t get angry. He calmly replied, “Do you even know who that is? If you don’t know her identity and still try to flirt with her, you’re just asking for trouble. You think no one has gone over because they weren’t interested? Look around. Why do you think she’s been sitting alone all this time? If you really want to walk into danger, I won’t stop you again.”
Hearing this, the Omega finally started to realize something.
Of course. This was a nightclub. Clients usually came here because they wanted company. Most had someone sitting next to them or at least had an Omega nearby. But this woman didn’t have anyone with her at all.
Confused, the Omega asked, “Who is she, really?”
“Have you heard of Xu Qingyan?”
“Xu Qingyan? Who’s that?”
“She’s the new director of the Xu Corporation. She took over two years ago. She’s an S-class Alpha.”
“S-class Alpha? Are you serious?”
The Omega was stunned. He looked at Xu Qingyan again, paying more attention this time. Now he understood why she felt so different from everyone else.
Just like people had different levels of strength, pheromones also varied in intensity. The ranks went from A to B to C, with A being the highest among the common categories. But above A was the rare and powerful S-class.
That was the top of the hierarchy. Even among thousands, there might not be a single S-class Alpha.
In fact, the Omega had worked at the nightclub for a long time and had rarely even seen an A-class Alpha. Most of the clients were B-class. He had almost started to believe that S-class Alphas or Omegas were just a myth.
“I can’t believe she’s really an S-class Alpha.”
He still couldn’t understand. “But why would someone like her come here? And someone so important, too. If she didn’t want anything, why would she come to a nightclub? This isn’t a classroom. We’re all adults. Who’s still pretending to be in a pure romance story?”
The coworker leaned in and whispered, “She didn’t come here by choice. Look at the people sitting near her. They’re all company bosses. She came to give them face. When she walked in, she clearly told the staff not to approach her. But someone didn’t listen and tried anyway. It almost turned into a huge incident. If our boss hadn’t apologized personally, this place would’ve been shut down tonight.”
The Omega gasped. The idea of flirting with her instantly vanished from his mind. A chill ran down his back. If he hadn’t been stopped, he might be lying in a hospital, or worse.
“She’s really that scary?”
The coworker nodded. “And she wasn’t happy from the moment she came in. Didn’t you notice her expression?”
To be honest, the Omega hadn’t noticed anything unusual.
Xu Qingyan’s face was icy cold. She looked like she had the words “Stay away” written all over her face. If this was what she looked like when angry, then only those close to her would recognize it. To everyone else, this was just her normal look.
At that moment, the lights in the room stopped flashing and returned to a steady glow. One of the Alphas raised a hand and called the manager over.
A few minutes later, the manager turned around, raised both hands, and signaled for all the service staff to leave. Once everyone had exited the room, he shut the door firmly behind them.
Now that it was quiet, Xu Qingyan finally raised her head. She crossed her arms in front of her waist and asked in a cold, annoyed tone, “Mr. Chen, if you have something to say, just say it. I will not come to a place like this again.”
Everyone knew Xu Qingyan hated noisy and messy places, especially those filled with people she didn’t respect. This place touched every nerve she had.
The only reason she came at all was to show respect to a business partner. But her displeasure was clear from the moment she walked in. She didn’t bother to hide it.
Chen Shu had sensed something was off from the moment he walked into the room.
But in order to secure a new project from Xu Qingyan, he believed the risk was worth taking.
“President Xu, please rest assured. Just this once. I promise it won’t happen again.”
Xu Qingyan gave him a cold, piercing look but said nothing in return.
She had long known how these men operated. Most of them had mistresses outside their marriages and always acted like the women they met outside were more exciting than their wives. They cheated constantly, and Xu Qingyan had seen it all before. It no longer surprised her.
Still, she felt deeply uncomfortable. She despised people who played with others’ feelings. If it weren’t for the business ties between them, she would have walked out without hesitation.
“If you have something to say, Mr. Chen, please get to the point,” her assistant spoke up calmly from beside her.
Chen Shu smiled nervously, clearly trying to flatter her. After a short pause, he said, “We heard that President Xu has been struggling with unstable pheromones and has been searching for a suitable Omega. It’s been a long time with no success, so we discussed it and thought maybe we could help by recommending someone. She’s an A-class Omega.”
Compared to S-class Alphas, high-level Omegas were even more rare and valuable. The higher an Omega’s level, the more stable their pheromones were. That meant they were less likely to lose control emotionally or physically, and they could also provide stronger calming pheromones for their Alpha partners. Because of this, high-level Omegas were always in short supply. Even if an Omega came from a poor family, as long as their pheromone level was high enough, they would be pursued fiercely by wealthy families for marriage alliances or private contracts.
The allure of such an Omega was something few Alphas could resist.
But they had underestimated Xu Qingyan’s cold and unwavering nature. Before Chen Shu could finish, she cut him off.
“Mr. Chen, if you have time to think about these things, you should be using it to figure out how to earn more money. I appreciate your intentions, but this matter ends here. I don’t want to hear another word about it from anyone. This is the last time.”
After speaking, Xu Qingyan stood up and opened the door to the private room.
Her assistant quickly followed behind.
As the assistant gently pulled the door shut, they could still hear the murmurs coming from inside.
The voices were quiet, but the words were still clear enough to catch.
“Mr. Chen, are you sure your information is accurate? She didn’t look like someone who needs an Omega to calm her down.”
“Exactly. You almost got us all in trouble. You know how temperamental Xu Qingyan is. If she gets even slightly upset, it won’t end well for anyone. Right now, she controls most of the entertainment market. Every profitable project is in her hands. If we offend her, we won’t even get the leftovers.”
“I don’t think she’s completely against finding an Omega. I just think the one you offered wasn’t a match for her. She’s an S-class Alpha. Even if she wants someone, it would have to be another S-class. There’s no way she’d be interested in someone ranked A-class. Maybe she felt you were insulting her.”
“But where would you even find an S-class Omega? They’re not something you can just pick from the ground. An A-class Omega is already extremely rare. If she insists on finding an S-class and can’t, does that mean she’s going to be alone forever?”
“Exactly. Still, I’m curious. Who was the A-class Omega you were going to recommend to her? High-level Omegas from wealthy families are usually reserved for marriage alliances. Don’t tell me this one is from a regular background.”
“Of course not. Based on Xu Qingyan’s standards, even a high-ranking Omega would need to come from a powerful family. It’s Li Dahai’s daughter, Li Ge.”
Li Ge.
The moment Xu Qingyan heard that name, her steps came to a sudden stop.
Her assistant immediately noticed the change and asked quietly, “Is something wrong, President Xu?”
Xu Qingyan raised her hand slightly, signaling her not to ask further. The assistant understood at once and fell silent.
Inside the room, more people had joined the conversation, and the volume grew louder.
“Li Dahai’s daughter? And she’s an A-class Omega? He’s actually willing to give her up?”
“Of course he is. That old fox knows exactly what he’s doing. One daughter in exchange for a lifetime of luxury and power. If it were you, what would you choose?”
“I honestly don’t know. But selling your own daughter like that? That’s just disgusting.”
“Count me in. I couldn’t do it either. And besides, doesn’t Li Dahai already have more than enough money?”
The conversation inside continued, disjointed but constant. Xu Qingyan didn’t want to hear another word. She felt an unexpected frustration growing in her chest, but she couldn’t quite explain where it was coming from.
Was it because she hated being used as a stepping stone? Or was it because she had heard that familiar name coming from someone else’s mouth?
As she thought about it, she had already walked out of the nightclub. Just as she headed toward the parking area, a sweet, soft voice called out to her.
She turned around and met the gaze of the Omega.
