The Paranoid Female CEO’s Contracted Beauty (Omegaverse) - Chapter 4
Thirty minutes later.
At the Xu family villa.
The assistant parked the car and opened the door, about to step out, when she noticed a black Mercedes parked nearby. It was the newest model of the season, and just from the look of it, she could tell the owner wasn’t an ordinary person.
“What is it?” Xu Qingyan glanced up from her phone.
“President Xu, it looks like someone came to visit your house,” the assistant said, pointing at the Mercedes. “Do you recognize that car?”
Xu Qingyan turned her head to look. It did seem familiar, but she hadn’t paid enough attention before to care who it belonged to.
“I recognize it.”
“Whose is it?”
“I don’t know.”
Alright, so she didn’t know after all.
The assistant chuckled. “Do you still want to go inside?”
People who came to the Xu family villa were never just here for a friendly visit. They were either looking for business opportunities, trying to pull strings for their children, or desperate to get someone into Xu Group. No one ever showed up just to say hello.
Xu Qingyan stared at the photo on her phone. Something didn’t feel right. Her instincts were rarely wrong when it came to bad things. If she had a feeling something unpleasant was waiting for her, it almost always turned out to be true.
She suddenly didn’t want to get out of the car.
But she didn’t want to trouble her assistant either. She was a secretary, not a babysitter.
“Let’s go in and take a look.”
The assistant nodded and walked around to open the door for her.
By the time they entered, the housekeeper was already waiting inside.
When he saw Xu Qingyan, he gave a respectful bow. “Welcome home, Miss Xu.”
Xu Qingyan lifted her gaze and saw a middle-aged Alpha rising from the sofa, smiling warmly as he greeted her.
But it was the kind of forced friendliness that only came when someone wanted something. She had seen that same fake politeness from countless people who tried to cozy up to Xu Group for their own gain.
“And he is?”
The housekeeper quickly answered, “Miss, this is Mr. Li Dahai, the CEO of Li Corporation.”
Li Dahai.
The assistant leaned in and whispered, “That’s Miss Li’s father.”
Xu Qingyan’s eyebrows immediately drew together. She looked straight at the housekeeper and asked, without hiding her displeasure, “What is he doing here?”
The housekeeper responded carefully, “Mr. Li said he had something to discuss with you. I was going to tell him you wouldn’t be back tonight, but Madam came home earlier. And you know how Madam is, she doesn’t like being lied to, so…”
Xu Qingyan understood and didn’t blame the housekeeper. She also knew her biological parents’ personalities all too well. Her father, from a young age, couldn’t stand anything that challenged his pride.
He and her mother were practically carved from the same mold.
Yes, her father was an S-class Omega, and her mother was an S-class Alpha. Their relationship was purely arranged through a family alliance. There was no love involved. As a result, they constantly clashed, blaming each other for ruining their chances at real happiness. Even when they shared a bed, their hearts were never in it. After she was born, the fighting only got worse. Eventually, they stopped even pretending. Every time they met, it turned into a screaming match. It was a miracle the house was still standing.
Both were incredibly competitive. Neither was willing to give in, both convinced they were right. Their private arguments were just as intense as the ones they had in public. Xu Qingyan’s presence did nothing to ease the tension between them. If anything, it made things worse. Eventually, it got to the point where if one parent was home, the other simply wouldn’t return.
When she was younger, Xu Qingyan didn’t understand what was happening. She used to cry and beg them to stop fighting, thinking her tears would fix everything. But after trying again and again, she realized her efforts were useless. Her tears changed nothing. Over time, she stopped trying and became numb to it all. Now, whether they were home or not didn’t matter to her at all.
“What kind of matter is so urgent that he has to come into someone else’s home to discuss it?” she asked coldly.
The housekeeper froze. He had never heard her speak like that before. Because of the strict way she was raised, Xu Qingyan had always remained polite, even when she disliked someone. This was the first time she openly showed her irritation in front of a guest.
It took him a few seconds to recover before answering, “He didn’t say. I asked him earlier, but he insisted on waiting for you to return.”
Before the housekeeper could finish, Li Dahai walked over from the sofa.
He greeted her with a wide grin. “President Xu, don’t you remember me? I’m Li Dahai, the CEO of Li Corporation.”
Xu Qingyan looked at him without any expression. “Should I know who you are?”
Li Dahai hadn’t expected her to say that. He was immediately thrown off. Given Xu Qingyan’s status, backed by the immense power of Xu Group, it was understandable that she wouldn’t care about a small-time CEO like him. It made sense that she looked down on him.
Although Li Dahai forced a smile, he was clearly irritated. He didn’t like being dismissed so bluntly, but since he came with a goal, he had no choice but to swallow his pride.
The assistant could see it right away. She knew exactly what he was thinking. Normally, Xu Qingyan would never express displeasure so directly in front of a guest, especially someone she didn’t know well. This time, she had done so because of that Omega. If her guess was correct, Li Dahai had probably come here to trade his own daughter for personal gain.
Xu Qingyan must have seen through it, which was why she was deliberately making things difficult for him.
And sure enough.
Li Dahai quickly gathered himself and smiled even more eagerly. He gestured politely and tried to smooth things over.
“President Xu, what you said just now… I mean, yes, compared to Xu Group, my company is nothing. But you don’t have to say it so bluntly, do you? In the end, we’re all hoping to work together. Sometimes it’s better to show a little kindness for the sake of future cooperation, don’t you think?”
Xu Qingyan turned her face slightly and looked at him. Her eyes were filled with restrained anger. She could not understand how someone could be so shameless. He was not only trying to sell his own daughter but was doing it so casually, as if it were a normal business transaction. It was as if his daughter was nothing more than a bargaining chip to him.
She could not imagine how Li Ge had grown up in such an environment. Did she even know that the person she was supposed to trust the most was planning to sell her? Did she know that from the day she was born until now, she had been part of a calculated plan?
“So what exactly do you want to say, Mr. Li?”
Seeing what he thought was a sign of softening in Xu Qingyan’s tone, Li Dahai immediately leaned in with his pitch.
“Well, I heard that you’re about to launch a major project. You’ve brought in award-winning actors, top production teams, the best of everything. I just wanted to ask if I could be part of it. Of course, I know how things work in this industry. I wouldn’t ask for a free spot. We can split the profits fifty-fifty. What do you think?”
The assistant smiled coldly.
“Mr. Li, based on the offer you just made, President Xu could easily run this entire project on her own and keep one hundred percent of the profits. She wouldn’t need to split anything with anyone. Don’t you agree?”
Li Dahai had no response. She was absolutely right. With Xu Qingyan’s resources and ability, she could manage the entire project and take all the earnings herself. If someone wanted a piece of that pie, they needed to offer something far more compelling.
Li Dahai cleared his throat and put on a serious face.
“Secretary Su is right. That’s why I’m here to propose something more substantial. I heard that President Xu has been dealing with unstable pheromones for years and hasn’t been able to find a compatible Omega. Coincidentally, I have someone in mind who might be able to help.”
Xu Qingyan’s expression turned cold immediately.
“You mean Li Ge, don’t you?”
Li Dahai’s eyes lit up in surprise. He hadn’t expected Xu Qingyan to know his daughter’s name.
“You know Xiaoge? That’s perfect. Let me tell you, I raised her myself. Her mother ran off with some wild Alpha after giving birth. I felt sorry for her, so I kept her and raised her like a treasure. Honestly, I wouldn’t consider giving her to just anyone. But you, President Xu, are different. I trust that she would have a good life with you.”
Even the assistant couldn’t help frowning. This was the first time she had seen such a shameless Alpha.
What did he mean by “felt sorry for her so I kept her”?
Wasn’t that his biological daughter?
Wasn’t she his own flesh and bl00d?
Why did it sound like he was doing her a favor?
“Mr. Li, isn’t she your daughter?”
“Of course she is.”
“Then don’t you think you should ask her if she’s willing?”
Li Dahai gave a cold laugh.
“I raised her. Without me, who knows where she’d be now? She’s grown up. It’s time she paid me back. Don’t you agree, Secretary Su?”
The assistant said nothing more. She had nothing to say to a parent like this. She only felt sorry for that Omega. What kind of karma had she carried from a past life to end up born into this family?
Xu Qingyan’s brow tightened further. Her expression showed she was on the edge of losing her temper, but she forced herself to stay calm.
“And then what? Do you think I’m going to say yes to this?”
Li Dahai froze.
“President Xu, what do you mean?”
Xu Qingyan stared at him.
“I said I know Li Ge. I never said I would agree to your request. Did you misunderstand something?”
“I… I’m not sure what you’re saying.”
The assistant stepped in calmly.
“President Xu means that everything you just said is one-sided. You made an offer based on your own assumptions.”
Li Dahai wasn’t ready to give up.
He didn’t believe that if Xu Qingyan wasn’t interested in Li Ge, she would even know who she was.
“President Xu, did Xiaoge offend you in some way? If she did, tell me. I’ll make sure she’s disciplined.”
At that moment, the sound of a car door locking came from outside.
Xu Qingyan instinctively turned her head toward the door.
She looked up just in time to see Li Ge walking in from outside.
