The Pitiful One Transmigrated into a Wealthy Family's Live-in Alpha (GL) - Chapter 10
This was the first time in Jing Ye’s life that she had been in a store like this. Even though it was self-service with no one watching, her face was flushed and her ears were burning. Because it was an ABO world, in addition to the various novelty items, there were also regular items like inhibitors and suppression patches that were needed for daily use. Jing Ye thought for a moment and bought several bottles of inhibitors and scent blockers, as well as three packs of suppression patches, for both Omegas and Alphas.
According to her timeline, if she were an Alpha, her susceptible period would be coming up soon. It would be a bit strange for a susceptible Alpha not to have these things on hand. As for the scent blockers, they were for her disguise. These items were like perfume but had the effect of blocking pheromones. She could spray some on herself and, if all else failed, claim that the scent blockers had masked her Alpha pheromones, which might be enough to get by.
Chen Yue had told her that if a Beta wanted to differentiate into an Alpha or Omega before their scheduled differentiation, they could use the opposite pheromones to stimulate the process. A very small number of Betas had the potential to differentiate, and if they had a strong desire to become an Omega, that desire could be so powerful that it affected their nerve cells. In special circumstances, if they were exposed to a very strong Alpha pheromone, they could differentiate into an Omega. Conversely, she could use Omega pheromones to achieve the same result.
Jing Ye didn’t want to differentiate into an Alpha or an Omega, but she didn’t want to die either. Hiding her identity for a whole year was probably impossible. Differentiating would be the best outcome, but if she couldn’t, she would have to come up with a foolproof plan.
It was legal to buy synthetic Alpha or Omega pheromone bottles at the adult store. These pheromones were chemically synthesized and very similar to real ones. They could be used in small amounts for comfort and calming purposes if needed. The original owner hadn’t had any physical contact with Jiang Sixian at this point in the timeline, so Jiang Sixian definitely didn’t know her pheromone scent. Jing Ye thought that if all else failed, she would use the synthetic ones as a cover.
After purchasing everything, Jing Ye, unaware that her actions were being monitored by the butler, happily returned home. She didn’t want to have any more contact with her fair-weather friends. Just one encounter had already put her on edge. So, when she got back, she immediately posted on her social media that she was in a bad mood and not to bother her. Of course, she set this post to be visible only to her friends. The original owner’s temperamental nature was common, and she often acted high and mighty, so her friends were used to it. They all made fun of her in the comments, and Jing Ye just ignored them.
Her next post was a side-profile picture of her sketching and writing at her desk. After a moment of thought, she set it to be visible only to Jiang Sixian.
All these things were taken care of by Thursday morning of the second week. Jiang Sixian had originally planned to rest for a day before returning home the next day, but after receiving a message from Secretary Zou, she frowned and canceled her evening spa appointment. She sent a voice message back.
“I’m coming back to the company this afternoon. You tell Zhang Sheng immediately that he is not to make any decisions without the OA process being fully approved!”
Secretary Zou “mmd” in response, then said worriedly:
“They’re getting more and more disrespectful. Zhang Sheng isn’t even hiding that he’s working for Jiang Qixin. He’s so arrogant. He decided to bring people to tour the company without even notifying the CEO…”
Every formal company has a strict set of rules, and so did the company. As a listed company, it had many exclusive trade secrets. Not just anyone could come in and tour the facilities. To do so, they had to go through the proper procedures, reporting to superiors, and finally getting approval from Jiang Sixian. But now, while she was away, Zhang Sheng had used the excuse that the partner from the jewelry company had already arrived and was directly bringing them in to tour their internal facilities!
His provocation was obvious. Jiang Sixian, of course, couldn’t waste any more time there. She had her assistant book an emergency flight to go back and deal with it without even taking a break. She was getting ready to pack her clothes and was about to hang up the phone when she heard Secretary Zou’s hesitant voice.
“Xueyun,” Jiang Sixian said, using her name with concern. “What’s wrong?”
“Nothing.”
Secretary Zou stuttered for a bit, then, remembering that Jiang Sixian disliked such delays, softened her tone and said with a laugh:
“I’m having a small birthday party this weekend. Do you want to come?”
“This weekend?”
Jiang Sixian calculated the dates.
“I have to go home this weekend. I’ll go back on Saturday, and I’ll probably only be able to leave on Sunday night.”
According to the usual habit of her family gatherings, she would have to stay there overnight. It wasn’t impossible for her to leave early, but Jing Ye would be alone there.
“Oh, I see—”
Zou Xueyun drew out her words, showing a hint of disappointment, but quickly realized her tone was off and replied with a laugh:
“It’s okay. You have to go back with your little live-in Alpha. You can come to my birthday party next year. There’s no rush.”
Jiang Sixian fell silent for a moment. She and Zou Xueyun had a good relationship; they had been together for many years. A birthday only happened once a year, and they didn’t have much time to spend together normally. Should she really give up celebrating her best friend’s birthday for that little wolf cub, Jing Ye?
“By the way,” Jiang Sixian had to focus on the business at hand for now and pushed those thoughts aside. She reminded her, “Please make two appointments for a checkup for Friday morning.”
“A checkup… all of a sudden? Okay.”
The person on the other end hung up after a moment of surprise. Jiang Sixian didn’t think too much about it. She put her phone aside and went to pack her luggage.
Zou Xueyun’s expression, however, darkened. The two of them were suddenly going for a checkup, and Jiang Sixian had said she was going home with Jing Ye. She clearly remembered that Jiang Sixian had no intention of letting the little live-in Alpha get involved in her family. Could it be that Jiang Sixian’s heat cycle was coming up, and she was preparing to let Jing Ye mark her?
Zou Xueyun was startled. To her, this possibility wasn’t small at all. After all, this kind of Alpha was easy to control, and as an S-class Omega, her need for pheromones was even greater. Long-term use of inhibitors wasn’t a good solution for AOs, so most people married early.
But she didn’t see Jing Ye as a good match at all. Zou Xueyun frowned, holding her phone in her hand for a long time, before finally hesitatingly finding the number.
As soon as Jing Ye answered the phone, she heard a somewhat familiar female voice commanding in an undeniable tone:
“Are you free at noon today? I’ll be waiting for you at the cafe near the company.”
