The Rebirth of the Socialite's Glory (GL) - Chapter 25
“I’ve decided on the challenge for the second match. It’s to kiss a stranger. We’ll each point to a woman for the other to kiss, and whoever gives up first loses.” An Ye felt he had come up with an excellent way to humiliate Feng Hua.
An Ye smiled very smugly. Seeing that Feng Hua didn’t speak, he said with arrogant laughter, “If you can’t handle it, you can just concede defeat!”
“No, let’s start. You demonstrate first,” Feng Hua said, looking out the window. After watching for a while, she pointed to a person wearing a flowing white dress and with long, flowing hair—someone who looked like a beauty just from the back. “You go and kiss her, but you have to succeed first.”
An Ye thought Feng Hua was deliberately trying to make things difficult for him. He immediately sneered, “No one has ever refused this young master’s kiss.” After saying this, he looked at Ye Qiu with a slightly guilty conscience, but Ye Qiu wasn’t looking at him.
Ye Qiu was currently regretting in her heart why she hadn’t used a little more force just now to simply press An Ye into the hospital.
And any pity Shi Kexuan had for An Ye instantly evaporated. The saying, “The pitiable must have something hateful about them,” was absolutely true. This wretched man actually came up with such a twisted idea—it was truly despicable!
As An Ye walked out of the coffee shop to approach his target, Ye Qiu had already subtly moved beside Feng Hua and whispered in her ear, “Do you really want to play this game with An Ye?”
Feng Hua felt a slight tickle in her ear. She raised her hand but touched Ye Qiu’s face. Her fingertips felt smooth and delicate, more delightful than silk. Feng Hua wanted to pull her hand away, but Ye Qiu suddenly grabbed it.
Feng Hua was startled. She turned to look at Ye Qiu, silently asking with her eyes: What are you doing?
“You answer my question first.” Ye Qiu’s voice was still soft and delicate, like an intimate whisper, yet Feng Hua still detected the insistence in it.
Feng Hua glanced at Shi Kexuan. Shi Kexuan was startled and quickly and nervously turned her head away, deliberately avoiding looking at the two people who were so close. Oh my, she couldn’t be a third wheel!
Feng Hua turned back and whispered, “You’ll find out later.”
Ye Qiu still didn’t release Feng Hua’s hand. Her fingertip even gently slid across Feng Hua’s palm. Feng Hua felt awkward and had no choice but to whisper again, “I won’t kiss any other woman.”
After saying this, Feng Hua regretted it. Something about that sentence felt wrong.
Ye Qiu, however, smiled faintly upon hearing this. After gently stroking Feng Hua’s soft palm again, she finally released her hand.
Feng Hua tried hard not to think about what just happened and ignored Ye Qiu. She looked at An Ye outside the window. At this point, An Ye was already engaging the person. From this angle, they could clearly see the person’s face. She wasn’t ugly; her features were very attractive. However, for a girl, were her facial lines perhaps a bit too rigid? Although this slight incongruity didn’t completely overshadow her beauty.
An Ye pursued relentlessly, and finally, he received a kiss from the beauty. As the beauty walked away, she meaningfully handed him a slip of paper with her contact information.
“He actually succeeded!” Shi Kexuan was very surprised that the gorgeous beauty actually kissed An Ye.
“An Ye looks quite good,” Feng Hua commented objectively.
Shi Kexuan examined An Ye carefully upon hearing this. She had to admit that An Ye did have a surprisingly good appearance. He had handsome, sharp eyebrows, soulful eyes, a high nose bridge, sensual lips, and a slender physique. Aside from looking a bit too thin, having somewhat pale skin, and being a little too delicate—a bit too much like a pretty boy—he was indeed quite attractive. Moreover, many young girls these days liked this type.
An Ye, looking pleased with himself, returned to his seat and held up the small piece of paper. “I succeeded, and I even got the beauty’s phone number. It’s your turn next.”
I don’t believe you won’t be called a pervert and have rotten eggs thrown at you by a girl! An Ye maliciously speculated in his mind.
To his surprise, Feng Hua on the opposite side simply raised an eyebrow and said, “Are you sure the person you kissed just now was a ‘beauty’ [Mei Nu] and not a ‘belle’ [Mei Ren]?”
“‘Beauty’ and ‘Belle’ are…” Halfway through his sentence, An Ye suddenly choked, sensing an ominous feeling. “What do you mean?”
“Didn’t you notice the belle’s Adam’s apple?” Feng Hua said, feigning surprise.
An Ye’s mind exploded with a boom. He had only felt a strange sense that the beauty’s features looked somewhat masculine and her eyes were too deep and profound, but he absolutely never imagined that such a beautiful ‘girl’ would actually be a man!
“What are you talking about? How can a man have long hair and wear a white dress?” An Ye said, trying to persuade Feng Hua or console himself.
Feng Hua pointed outside again. “Didn’t you notice that everyone outside is dressed a bit strangely today? There’s a comic convention happening here, and that belle was likely cosplaying.”
“This…” An Ye looked at the crowd of people in bizarre costumes outside, and his heart shattered into pieces.
All the evidence suggested that he had just kissed a man! A man… A man… Man… Person…
An Ye was completely distraught again.
“I concede this match; you win,” Feng Hua smiled, finding An Ye’s ever-changing expressions incredibly amusing.
Shi Kexuan and Ye Qiu visibly relaxed upon hearing Feng Hua’s words, but An Ye was about to explode. He roared almost like a wild beast, “Feng Hua, are you making a fool of me?”
“Did you just realize that?” Feng Hua blinked, looking innocent.
While An Ye was too angry to speak, Feng Hua calmly and elegantly continued to sip her coffee. She noticed a small cake that had inexplicably appeared on the table. It looked beautiful, smelled tempting, and most importantly, it was Feng Hua’s favorite kind of cake.
“This cake is in high demand, and this is the only piece left. Try it,” Ye Qiu timely pushed the cake towards Feng Hua.
Feng Hua glanced at Ye Qiu, then looked at the cake with great internal conflict. Finally, she turned her head away, seemingly with great modesty, expressing her stance.
Absolutely cannot succumb to Ye Qiu’s temptation!
Ye Qiu pulled the cake back and looked at the averted-face Feng Hua, a slight smile playing on her lips. Ye Qiu directly speared a piece with a fork and put it in her mouth. She had to admit that Feng Hua’s taste was indeed the most refined and picky. When it pleased her, it naturally had to be extraordinary. The deliciousness of this cake was indescribable. It was definitely the kind of cake that one would get addicted to after a single bite, and no one would ever refuse it after trying it once.
With tremendous self-control, Ye Qiu put down her fork. Sure enough, when she looked up, she saw Feng Hua gazing longingly at her, or rather, at the small piece of cake in front of her. Her face and eyes were filled with the thought, I want to eat it, I really want to eat it, yet her petal-like lips were tightly sealed, maintaining her last shred of modesty.
Feng Hua looked like a cat in that moment. This version of her was the Xiao Hua she was familiar with. No matter how thick and hard the shell she wrapped herself in, the inside was always soft.
While Ye Qiu sometimes found Feng Hua’s hard, unbreakable shell frustrating, most of the time she was thankful for it. Because of it, her Xiao Hua wouldn’t be easily hurt, wouldn’t be coveted, and wouldn’t be snatched away. Only she knew what a good person her Xiao Hua was, how soft-hearted she was. This was a secret she alone enjoyed.
Feng Hua didn’t know what Ye Qiu was thinking. Her intense gaze was a little frightening. Feng Hua retracted the paws that were uncontrollably reaching out, but her eyes, glued to the cake, refused to move.
At this moment, she felt extremely regretful. Why had she been so petty and refused just now? Impulsiveness was truly a bad thing. Many times, things that shouldn’t have been said were said because of impulse.
Seeing Feng Hua looking miserable, Ye Qiu didn’t tease her further. She placed the cake, which she had already taken a bite out of, back in front of Feng Hua. “I tasted it for you. It’s really delicious, so would you like some?”
Feng Hua swiftly stabbed her fork into the cake, then lifted her chin with a modest arch, as if saying, Since you’ve requested it so sincerely, I suppose I can reluctantly have a little.
It was absolutely delicious… Feng Hua ate with immense satisfaction, her eyes narrowed into slits. Her naturally noble and aloof face was covered with the gentle look of a cat, making An Ye and Shi Kexuan stare in disbelief.
They were actually watching these two women openly display affection right in front of them. This feeling was truly too subtle [too hateful], wasn’t it?
An Ye was the first to refuse to accept it, but the current situation was that the two of them weren’t engaging in any overly intimate behavior; their chemistry was just too unique. So, all he could do now was silently bleed internally.
“Have you decided on the challenge for the third match?” Feng Hua finally had the energy to think about other things after finishing the cake.
An Ye silently swallowed a mouthful of bl00d. “I’ve decided. For the third match, we’ll race cars. Don’t tell me you don’t know how to race.”
Car racing was one of the most popular activities among young people. After experiencing the thrill of racing, the coolness of luxury cars, the pleasure of being in control, and the sweet taste of victory, it was hard to resist. The attraction of racing surpassed the imagination of those who hadn’t tried it.
Feng Hua nodded. “No problem.”
Car racing was indeed very attractive. She had been obsessively devoted to it for a period. In her previous life, striving to socialize with the upper-class, absolutely wealthy second-generation heirs, she naturally had to lower herself a bit and proactively adapt to them. It was during that time that Feng Hua learned many things. Horse racing was one of them, and car racing was another. Fortunately, Feng Hua didn’t dislike these activities; instead, she found enjoyment in them. When she excelled at everything, she not only felt a sense of fulfillment but also earned more eyes full of admiration and submission.
An Ye had only meant to provoke Feng Hua, but he didn’t expect her to agree so easily. Although car racing was common in their circle, he knew Feng Hua had mostly grown up in Country E, where horse racing was more popular than car racing.
“This time, at the largest racetrack in City A, it’s crowded and lively. How about we go now?” An Ye said. “I want to finish this quickly.”
“Alright.”
For Feng Hua, the competition was just a game to spice up life. Once this game ended, life would lose a bit of its fun. Because of this, Feng Hua was actually a little reluctant.
“It’s best to have a passenger in the car. I want Ye Qiu. As for you, Shi Kexuan?” An Ye casually added, “If you want a man, you can find a good one there too.”
Having a passenger during a race had almost become a habit, and it was indeed necessary. Men usually preferred to choose a hot chick [Literally: “spicy sister”], while women preferred a handsome guy to their liking. Of course, those who considered things more deeply would naturally choose someone with equally good driving skills as a companion.
“I choose Xiao Hua,” Ye Qiu said. “You take Shi Kexuan with you. She won’t let your drive be boring, and she understands racing better than I do.”
Feng Hua did not refuse, because Ye Qiu’s driving skills were the exact opposite of her claim of not understanding racing better than Shi Kexuan. Having Ye Qiu beside her would naturally be an advantage.
An Ye & Shi Kexuan: Putting us together, aren’t you afraid that we’ll argue, lose control, and end up in a fatal car crash?
