The Rebirth of the Socialite's Glory (GL) - Chapter 35
Feng Hua noticed Guan Xi’s movement, turned back, and saw Ye Qiu standing right in front of her. Her wrist was held by Guan Xi, and the look in her eyes as she stared at Guan Xi was dark and deep.
“Is something wrong?” Feng Hua nodded toward Guan Xi, then looked at Ye Qiu, subconsciously moving to a position where she could be protected by Guan Xi and Ye Qiu could not easily approach.
Seeing that the two knew each other, Guan Xi immediately let go of Ye Qiu’s hand with utmost gentlemanly grace. “My apologies.”
Ye Qiu ignored Guan Xi, only looking at Feng Hua. Feng Hua’s earlier movement had all been taken into her sight, and she felt deeply uneasy because of it. She pursed her lips. Just as Feng Hua was preparing to leave with a hint of impatience, Ye Qiu extended her hand again. This time Guan Xi did not intervene, but Feng Hua dodged.
Ye Qiu withdrew her hand and said in a deep voice, “I wanted to remind you that An Ye is very displeased with you bringing a male companion.”
“What does his displeasure have to do with me?” Feng Hua only remembered An Ye after Ye Qiu brought him up.
Ye Qiu withdrew the deep emotions that made Feng Hua only want to avoid her, revealing a light, polite, yet aloof expression that was exactly like Feng Hua’s. “He’s a spoiled person and easily acts on impulse. I just wanted to tell you to be careful of him.”
“Since Young Master An is prone to emotional outbursts and biting people indiscriminately, he should remember to take his medication on time,” Guan Xi suddenly interjected from the side, speaking in a serious tone as if his suggestion held no mockery, but was merely heartfelt advice.
Feng Hua covered her mouth and chuckled silently upon hearing this. Recalling An Ye’s frequent fits of anger and random lashing out, she deeply felt that An Ye indeed needed to keep taking his medicine.
Ye Qiu, however, either didn’t catch the meaning in Guan Xi’s words or simply didn’t care, only smiling faintly upon hearing it.
“Just be careful.” Ye Qiu slowly walked toward Feng Hua. Feng Hua didn’t know whether to step aside or retreat, so she could only stand there slightly stiffly, watching Ye Qiu get closer.
Ye Qiu, however, did not stop in front of Feng Hua, walking past her without the slightest pause. A very light voice clearly reached Feng Hua’s ears as she walked by, “If teacher is bullied, as a student, I would be very heartbroken.”
It was an entirely normal and pure relationship, but whenever Ye Qiu brought it up, Feng Hua felt an inexplicable sense of shame.
Because of this shame, Feng Hua did not take Ye Qiu’s words to heart.
Feng Hua casually picked up a glass of wine and brought it to her lips, but in the next second, Guan Xi’s distinctively jointed and broad hand took it away. “You just drank red wine; you shouldn’t drink this whiskey. Mixing alcohol is very bad for your health.”
“Thank you.” Feng Hua looked at the liquid in the glass, then reacted and smiled gratefully at Guan Xi.
Although it was only half a day of getting along, Feng Hua had fully experienced Guan Xi’s gentle and considerate nature. Coupled with his steady aura, it made it easier for people to feel secure.
“I need to go to the restroom.”
After informing Guan Xi, Feng Hua walked through the crowd toward the exit. Unexpectedly, a woman bumped into her. Feeling that someone was about to fall, Feng Hua instinctively reached out and wrapped her arms around the person’s waist, catching the one who was about to fall to the ground.
“Are you alright?” Feng Hua gently asked the young girl in her arms, who was closing her eyes in fright.
The girl Feng Hua held was actually an adult, but her face looked genuinely youthful, as innocent as a fifteen or sixteen-year-old girl. Her features were delicate and lovely, her long eyelashes fluttered like the wings of a butterfly, and her face was slightly pale, suggesting she was startled.
After Feng Hua’s question, the girl gradually opened her eyes and said in a soft, sweet voice, “I’m fine, thank you.”
Seeing that the person had recovered, Feng Hua released the hand around her waist and prepared to leave.
But after only two steps, she heard the girl say from behind her, “Your dress is soaked with wine. Don’t you need to change into another outfit?”
The girl’s voice was louder than before. As soon as she spoke, Feng Hua felt the gaze of onlookers from all directions. Due to the style and the darker fabric of the dress, Feng Hua hadn’t immediately noticed the anomaly on the dress. She hadn’t expected this girl’s single remark to expose her disheveled state to everyone.
The girl looked completely innocent, and Feng Hua maintained a calm expression.
Shi Ke Xuan also noticed the commotion and quickly walked over to help Feng Hua out. She said to Feng Hua, “I have several spare gowns. Come take a look and see if you like any.” She then pulled Feng Hua away, escaping the array of judging eyes. As she left, Feng Hua looked back at the girl who had bumped into her, only to find that she was no longer there.
“What happened just now?”
Shi Ke Xuan led Feng Hua into a room, pulling her toward the wardrobe. She opened the wardrobe, revealing several brand-new, luxurious gowns inside.
“Thank you.” Feng Hua’s hand brushed over the dresses, examining them carefully. She explained, “That young lady almost fell down, and I helped her up. The wine accidentally spilled onto my dress.”
“You helped her out of kindness, but she…” Shi Ke Xuan recalled the scene just now and felt that something was amiss.
Feng Hua comforted her, “It’s just a dress, after all. My helping her was out of goodwill; I don’t need to care about her intentions.”
“Mm. Take your time trying them on here. These few were custom-made for me, but they will certainly look good on you. The cabinet below holds new shoes, and that dressing table has my makeup and jewelry.” Shi Ke Xuan pointed to the dressing table, then glanced at herself in the mirror, adjusting her hair. “Take your time getting ready. I’ll head out first. Remember to play your arrangement of the birthday song for me tonight. I’ve been looking forward to it for a long time.”
This was a favor Shi Ke Xuan had persistently begged Feng Hua for. Feng Hua was not particularly skilled or fond of the piano, but playing a simple birthday tune, let alone an arrangement, was no problem at all.
Feng Hua nodded, “You go back first. I’ll be fine alone.”
The banquet had only just begun, so Shi Ke Xuan naturally couldn’t stay with Feng Hua the entire time.
After Shi Ke Xuan left, Feng Hua locked the door and began to change in front of the full-length mirror. She pulled down the zipper at the back, untied the ribbon, and slowly slipped the dress off. She removed the hair accessories that held her hair in place, letting her waterfall-like long hair cascade down her back to her waist.
Feng Hua reached for a backless, floor-length gown. The sound of the door opening suddenly rang out. Thinking it was Shi Ke Xuan returning, she didn’t pay it much mind. She turned around and took the gown off the hanger.
When Cheng Yi entered and saw the scene before her, she froze. Her eyes were fixed on the almost naked body with its back to her. For a moment, she thought it was an oil painting of a goddess frozen in a pose.
The person who entered said nothing. Feng Hua paused her movement of handling the clothes. She calmly put the dress on. After reaching back to slowly pull up the zipper, she turned to look at the person by the door.
Feng Hua’s gaze was sharp, but this look made Cheng Yi feel entirely soft, as if hypnotized, watching Feng Hua. Every move Feng Hua made seemed to possess a strange attraction, imprinted in her eyes in slow motion.
“Come here,” Feng Hua beckoned to Cheng Yi. Cheng Yi was the girl Feng Hua had helped in the ballroom earlier.
Cheng Yi didn’t know whether she should go, but her body had already walked over obediently.
“Who sent you?” Feng Hua asked.
Cheng Yi, of course, chose to remain silent, lowering her head. Suddenly, she began to take off her clothes. Feng Hua didn’t move to stop her, only saying lightly, “If you dare take off that dress, I can guarantee I’ll flay the skin off your family and friends another day.”
Cheng Yi looked up at Feng Hua in disbelief. Feng Hua’s lips were just as described in fairy tales: tender like petals and seemingly fragrant. Feng Hua looked like a favorite child blessed by God, yet it was this very person, who ought to be like an angel, who spoke such chilling words with her beautiful mouth.
“You…” Cheng Yi was momentarily speechless.
“I’m not joking. Even if you succeeded in your goal today, I would still be the eldest daughter of the Feng family. It’s very simple to do something to you and your family. For example, arranging a car accident? Or simply making all your family and friends lose their jobs, and then telling them it’s all because of you. What do you think they would do to you? Of course, if the situation is very serious…”
“Then I really will flay your skin off,” Feng Hua slowly smiled, a smile devoid of any malice, her bright eyes still full of vivacity.
“You can’t do that…” Cheng Yi’s throat was dry. She hadn’t expected Feng Hua’s reaction to be so fast, and the means of threat so crude yet effective.
“You just need to understand that I can do it.” Feng Hua grabbed Cheng Yi’s chin, her eyes filling with coldness as she looked at Cheng Yi. “You had better use this time to tell me what I want to know. Otherwise, once this time passes, you won’t have any chance to regret it.”
Cheng Yi was stunned by Feng Hua. Under Feng Hua’s increasingly cold gaze, she stammered, “I… I’ll tell you…”
Seeing that Cheng Yi was sufficiently intimidated, Feng Hua was secretly pleased. Intimidation was good. She was just trying to scare her, after all. How could she possibly actually flay people’s skin?
“An Ye asked me to come. I am his companion tonight.” Cheng Yi said, subconsciously glancing at Feng Hua’s expression. If she hadn’t misheard back at the banquet, An Ye was apparently supposed to be engaged to Feng Hua? She felt that either An Ye was blind or he knew what kind of dark heart lay beneath Feng Hua’s perfect exterior; otherwise, he wouldn’t have asked her to do such a thing.
“An Ye told me to come to your room… take off my clothes, and frame you for being a lesbian. He was going to bring people over later… to catch us ‘in the act.'” Having made her decision, Cheng Yi didn’t hesitate to reveal An Ye. She looked at the inscrutable Feng Hua, a hint of pity flashing in her eyes, while simultaneously defending herself, “He threatened me. Otherwise, he would make it impossible for me to work in the entertainment industry. My career in the industry has just started, and my mother’s illness requires a lot of money. I can’t lose this job because of offending Young Master An.”
Cheng Yi wasn’t deliberately playing the victim; this was genuinely her situation.
She hadn’t originally planned to enter the entertainment industry. She grew up in a single-parent family with a relatively poor background, so she studied very hard, always getting good grades. However, her mother’s sudden serious illness interrupted her original path and carefully planned future. She knew that the only ray of hope for raising the immense medical fees in a relatively short time was to enter the entertainment industry.
She diligently acted, taking on hundreds of roles, even extras, corpses, or prostitutes, just to gain familiarity with the crew, to hone her non-professional acting skills, and to hope for a chance at a more important role someday. However, the entertainment industry truly lived up to its reputation for rampant under-the-table deals. In a short time, she understood that without backing, it was difficult to make it here, and even with backing, success was not guaranteed.
Hard work paid off. Through her own efforts, she managed to secure supporting roles, even female supporting roles. She showed her face to the audience, which meant she had exposure and a chance to become famous. Everything seemed to be getting better, but at this point, her mother’s condition worsened again. She needed to save up money for her mother’s surgery.
She was finally forced to go down a path she had always resisted, just to get the money in time to save her mother. Her agent had found a “sugar daddy” who seemed very suitable in the eyes of outsiders: An Ye, the young master of the An family.
An Ye was only in his first year of university. One look at his innocent eyes and she knew he was still a virgin. The look in An Ye’s eyes when he looked at her also contained no lust. In fact, he only took her to some banquets and never touched her.
In her interactions with An Ye, she learned that he had someone he liked. She had seen that person tonight. He was clearly a very arrogant young master, yet he was humble and cautious around the woman who seemed somewhat cold toward him, with an anxiety that An Ye himself might not have noticed. Also tonight, she learned that An Ye had a fiancée.
Cheng Yi, who originally had other thoughts about An Ye, completely dropped any aspirations concerning him this time. An Ye was merely a benefactor to her. If her ambition grew, it would only harm herself.
However, she hadn’t done this particular deed willingly. An Ye had threatened her viciously, and she dared not disobey. After receiving An Ye’s promise to erase her identity information from this incident and to promote her in the future, she still bit the bullet and orchestrated that scene.
But now, it seemed that An Ye’s tactics were probably no match for Feng Hua’s, and An Ye was definitely going to suffer the consequences of his own cunning. Cheng Yi no longer felt any pity or sympathy for him. The moment An Ye used her lifeline to threaten her into doing this, he was completely out of her heart.
Feng Hua, at this moment, was wondering about the reason behind An Ye’s underhanded move. More precisely, why An Ye was able to come up with this trick. Could it be because of Ye Qiu… did he know something? Did Ye Qiu say something in front of An Ye?
Cheng Yi saw Feng Hua’s expression growing colder, her brows furrowing tighter, and she offered no comment on her words, making her feel uneasy.
An Ye could easily threaten her, and naturally, so could Feng Hua. These powerful figures would not even put her, a small fry, in their eyes. Cheng Yi’s chin was held by Feng Hua, preventing her from looking down. She could only slightly drop her gaze, using her eyelashes to conceal the shame and humiliation welling up in her eyes, tightly biting her lip to prevent a sob from escaping.
Feng Hua’s grip on Cheng Yi’s chin tightened. Just as Cheng Yi felt unbearable pain, Feng Hua finally released her.
An Ye calculated the time Cheng Yi had been inside and led a group of people, including Ye Qiu, to Feng Hua’s room in a high-handed manner. The door was suddenly opened. Everyone was momentarily blinded, seeing only Feng Hua holding a clearly undressed woman in her arms, the woman covered only by a gown that hadn’t been put on yet.
“What are you doing?” An Ye’s face expressed surprise, but inwardly, he was laughing. Judging by the current situation, Cheng Yi had succeeded!
The crowd who came with him was also stunned by the sight. Was this… were they doing what they thought they were doing?
They never expected the prestigious eldest daughter of the Feng family to be a lesbian! In an instant, everyone’s gaze toward Feng Hua changed.
Feng Hua did not answer An Ye’s question immediately. Instead, she frowned and angrily reprimanded An Ye, “Don’t you knock before entering someone else’s room? Instead, you used a key to unlock it and walked right in? The system of this hotel truly opens my eyes. So, a client’s safety and privacy cannot be guaranteed, actually putting the client in such danger!”
If Feng Hua’s words were spread, this hotel would not be able to establish itself in City A. And this hotel happened to be An family property, which was why An Ye could easily get the key. Hearing Feng Hua’s words, An Ye realized he had been somewhat impulsive. Now, Feng Hua had managed to seize the initiative.
Although he felt a bit guilty now, he continued to steer the topic toward Feng Hua and Cheng Yi.
“Barging in like this was inconsiderate of me, but shouldn’t you also explain what you two were doing just now?”
Feng Hua said with a very natural expression, “Her dress was accidentally torn, and I brought her here to change into a new one.”
Feng Hua’s expression was so natural that it made everyone feel that their previous misunderstanding was a huge mistake. If they looked closely, they would also notice the clues. Although Cheng Yi was undressed, Feng Hua’s clothes were fine, and Cheng Yi’s expression was not unnatural. Feng Hua’s actions were also very open and honest. It was their own thoughts that were truly too lewd.
“Is that really so? How was her dress torn?” An Ye glanced at Cheng Yi, only to find that Cheng Yi kept her head buried in Feng Hua’s arms, not looking up at him. At this point, even if he was slow to react, he noticed something was wrong. It seemed Cheng Yi had been turned by Feng Hua.
Feng Hua asked in slight surprise, “What did you think it was? Cheng Yi, tell him how your dress was torn.”
Feng Hua patted Cheng Yi’s back, seemingly soothingly, “Don’t be afraid, it’s alright.”
“When I parted with Young Master An, I went to the restroom and ran into a drunk guest. My dress was accidentally torn…”
Cheng Yi didn’t elaborate on why the guest tore her clothes or how they tore it, but everyone mentally filled in the story.
The way everyone looked at An Ye also became subtle. His female companion was bullied, which was practically a slap in the face for Young Master An.
Ye Qiu stood beside An Ye, watching with a detached look, as if watching a farce. Just a glance at Cheng Yi in Feng Hua’s arms told her that Feng Hua had perfectly resolved the situation. Cheng Yi’s posture was too docile, like a trained pet.
“An Ye, didn’t you say you were here to introduce us to Professor Feng?” Someone reminded An Ye of the excuse he had used to bring them.
An Ye knew that his plan had failed. He glanced at Cheng Yi with dissatisfaction, thinking about how to punish Cheng Yi later, but maintained a composed demeanor as he introduced Feng Hua to them.
However, he hadn’t expected Feng Hua to openly trample on his reputation.
Feng Hua said, “Young Master An, we are not familiar. Please do not deliberately do things that mislead others into thinking we are intimate. Even if my good friend Shi Ke Xuan had opened the door so abruptly, I would be angry, let alone Young Master An, a grown man. Miss Cheng was just about to change. For Young Master An to bring a group of people in under these circumstances is truly very impolite.”
An Ye was so choked by Feng Hua that his eyes turned red, while Feng Hua continued, “Could I please ask you all to step out for a moment and come back after Miss Cheng has changed?”
Cheng Yi was well-covered by Feng Hua. Although she looked a bit disheveled now, no important parts were visible to outsiders. Hearing Feng Hua say this, they realized their current situation was quite awkward. They had rudely barged into someone’s room, interrupted a girl while she was changing, and were now surrounding her while she was still undressed. A sense of shame rose uniformly in everyone’s hearts, and they became dissatisfied with An Ye’s actions just now.
They had thought An Ye was close enough with Miss Feng, but it turned out he was just abusing his authority and acting recklessly.
Although this group did not say it out loud, they had already put a huge red X against this hotel in their minds. A powerless little young master of the An family could casually pry into clients’ privacy and use a key to enter and exit clients’ rooms freely. Such a hotel offered no safety guarantees whatsoever and was highly untrustworthy.
If that was the case, who would dare stay at this hotel?
Before An Ye even realized it, he had caused this An family-owned hotel a huge loss in revenue.
Everyone withdrew, leaving only Feng Hua and Cheng Yi in the room. Feng Hua released Cheng Yi. “You don’t need to be afraid of An Ye dealing with you. Things will take a turn. Trust me, wait for me to find you.”
Cheng Yi looked at Feng Hua and nodded obediently.
“You don’t need to worry about the money either. Hmm… you will have an answer in three days.”
Cheng Yi felt that Feng Hua was trustworthy, and far more so than An Ye, so she believed Feng Hua’s words. She secretly felt that this ordeal might have turned out to be a blessing in disguise.
Since An Ye had brought a group of Changqing University people to introduce, Feng Hua naturally wouldn’t ignore them, but when An Ye watched helplessly as Feng Hua easily turned everyone he brought into her fanatical admirers, he felt internal injuries bubbling up inside him.
Feng Hua did not linger upstairs for too long. She appropriately suggested that it was Shi Ke Xuan’s birthday and that she had a special gift for her. Everyone was very understanding and didn’t pester her, following Feng Hua downstairs.
Cheng Yi followed closely by Feng Hua’s side, mainly because the look in An Ye’s eyes was too terrifying. Although she knew An Ye didn’t hit women, she was still a little scared by the look.
Feng Hua played the birthday song as requested by Shi Ke Xuan, adding many accompaniments and chords to the melody. In this atmosphere, it gave a refreshing feeling and did not fall short just because it was a simple tune.
When the banquet ended, Feng Hua held An Ye back. Although An Ye knew that Feng Hua keeping him back probably meant trouble, he would not humble himself in front of Feng Hua.
Ye Qiu smiled as she left, glanced at Feng Hua, and then uncharacteristically resumed her usual gentle expression, patting An Ye on the shoulder.
An Ye instantly felt soothed, immediately revitalized, and the hesitation in his expression vanished.
Feng Hua felt that Ye Qiu’s look seemed to see right through her, and the look Ye Qiu gave An Ye clearly carried a bit of pity and schadenfreude, which An Ye, the blind idiot, simply couldn’t see.
After Ye Qiu left, An Ye’s expression returned to arrogance, “Speak, why did you ask me to stay?”
“To train (discipline) you,” Feng Hua said with a faint smile, speaking these two words.
An Ye’s eyes widened. He thought he had misheard.
Not only Shi Ke Xuan remained at the hotel, but Guan Xi had also not left. Seeing Feng Hua look at her, Guan Xi expressed, “I promised Uncle Wang to stick with you all day today.”
“That’s good too. Help me pull him and take him to the car.” Looking at An Ye’s changed expression, Feng Hua slowly smiled.
Guan Xi raised an eyebrow and easily restrained An Ye, taking him out without letting him utter a single word.
Shi Ke Xuan watched the two leave, swallowed, and looked at Feng Hua, “What did An Ye do this time?”
“He asked for trouble,” Feng Hua said. “Are you coming with me or staying?”
Shi Ke Xuan looked at Feng Hua and instinctively nodded, “I’m coming with you.”
The four got into the car together. Feng Hua instructed Guan Xi to drive to the outskirts of the city.
The moon was already hanging high in the center of the sky, and the faint moonlight added a touch of desolation to the quiet wilderness.
An Ye was already a little nervous in the car as he watched it drive to increasingly deserted areas. Now, being kicked out by Feng Hua and looking at this desolate and lonely suburb, his hair stood on end.
“Feng Hua, what do you want to do?” An Ye climbed up from the ground, no longer caring about Feng Hua’s kick, but wanting to know what Feng Hua was planning.
The suburbs were not like the city. The wind at night in the suburbs was fierce, and An Ye, dressed in a thin suit, shivered as he hugged himself.
Inside the car with the air conditioning on, the temperature was naturally comfortable, but just hearing the sound of the wind, Shi Ke Xuan could imagine that An Ye standing outside was definitely not feeling good.
Feng Hua got out of the car. The wind blew her long hair and dress hem. Against the backdrop of the suburban mountains and the silver sky, she looked breathtakingly beautiful.
Even An Ye shamelessly lost himself in her beauty for a few seconds.
But in the next moment, he was kicked back to reality by Feng Hua. The pain invaded his limbs and bones. Young Master An, who had never been treated like this, was completely distraught. The look in his eyes as he struggled to look up at Feng Hua was as if he wanted to devour her flesh.
Feng Hua used her full strength this time, and her kicks targeted relatively vulnerable spots, such as the inner thighs and the lower part of the buttocks. An Ye would probably be too embarrassed to reveal these injuries even if he wanted to complain or apply medicine.
Shi Ke Xuan saw An Ye rolling on the ground in pain and instinctively wanted Feng Hua to stop, but at this point, Feng Hua stopped first and coldly asked An Ye, “Does it hurt?”
The beating only made An Ye more defiant. He not only suppressed his cries of agony but also refused to say a word in response to Feng Hua’s question. A dead pig doesn’t fear boiling water; if Feng Hua had the guts, she could just beat him to death!
An Ye thought bravely, but when Feng Hua truly subjected him to a new round of violent beating, An Ye was far less resilient than he had imagined.
“Stop… stop it…”
“I’m gonna die…”
“Ah… stop quickly…”
An Ye felt like his internal organs were shifting. He forced his eyes open and saw Feng Hua’s face as she bent over and looked at him.
If An Ye had any strength left, he would have punched Feng Hua in the face. Forget about not hitting women; Feng Hua couldn’t even be called a woman! But now he had no strength at all, and the pain all over his body made him want to roll his eyes. So he could only look up at Feng Hua eagerly, with a hint of compromise and pleading in his eyes.
He was actually a little afraid that Feng Hua would beat him to death here.
“Before, you provoked me, spoke disrespectfully to me, and even insulted me, and I didn’t bother with you.” Feng Hua saw that An Ye’s pupils were still relatively normal and that his body showed no major problems. She straightened up, looked down at An Ye, and slowly said, “But this time, I feel I can’t indulge you anymore. You are eighteen years old this year, no longer a child. If you don’t learn, the only way is to let someone thoroughly discipline you.”
An Ye cursed internally, but the moment he showed any grimace on his face, he was in so much pain that he could only whimper. He had to tell himself to calm down, calm down. When under someone else’s roof, you have to bow your head.
If he didn’t take fierce revenge on Feng Hua after he returned, he wouldn’t be An Ye!
“Do you know how malicious what you did tonight was?” Feng Hua said plainly.
Normally, An Ye would have coldly replied that he didn’t know, but now… indeed, when under someone else’s roof, you have to bow your head.
“You certainly didn’t investigate Cheng Yi’s family. She comes from a single-parent family with a critically ill mother. She originally had good grades and planned to attend a key university and find a good job, but she had no choice but to enter the entertainment industry.”
“How difficult it is for a child so young and without any foundation to survive in the entertainment industry is something you, who are free from worry about food and clothing, cannot imagine. She didn’t fall into depravity because of it, but put in much more effort than others… but effort is the least noteworthy reason to praise someone. Everyone works hard, but not everyone succeeds. Her misfortune did not leave her just because of her prior misfortune.”
“Her mother’s condition worsened, which is why she approached you. You threatened her with her job this time. Did you consider what kind of ending she would face if she didn’t comply? It wouldn’t just be losing a job. In the end, both she and her mother might not have a good outcome. Now that Cheng Yi didn’t complete the task you gave her, you must be thinking about how to punish her after you return, right? She is already exhausted, yet you can smile and add heavier shackles to crush her.”
“And it’s even more impossible for you to consider my well-being. You would only be happy if I was embarrassed and flustered, but you wouldn’t think about how badly I would be harmed by this plot you see as a prank. As the sole heir of the Feng family, if this scandal were discovered, I certainly wouldn’t fare well, and I would probably be arranged to marry you quickly.”
An Ye’s pupils contracted upon hearing this. With Feng Hua’s explanation, he finally reacted and felt a rush of fear. Because Feng Hua was right. If something really happened to Feng Hua, the most likely solution would be to make him marry Feng Hua. An Ye broke out in a cold sweat at this potential outcome.
“Furthermore, Cheng Yi’s existence would be erased. At best, she would be sent abroad, but if they were ruthless, the fate of the entire Cheng Yi family would definitely not be good. The people you brought would also be implicated. And you… do you think your plot was very secret? No, you just managed a sneak attack for a temporary victory, but in reality, your methods are too simple. To find you, the mastermind, your family would probably have to use many things to compensate my father. At that time, your An family would certainly suffer a great loss in vitality. If my father intended to suppress you, what path do you think your An family would eventually take?”
Feng Hua’s words made An Ye break out in a cold sweat. Although he wanted to deny Feng Hua, her words were true in every sentence. He rationally knew that Feng Hua’s words were correct, but emotionally, he couldn’t accept that he had done such a thing, almost harming his family and Cheng Yi because of his stupidity…
He was just spoiled, but his heart wasn’t evil. After hearing Feng Hua tell Cheng Yi’s story, he not only lost the idea of looking for trouble with Cheng Yi, but also inexplicably felt a sense of guilt toward her.
Forcing a good person into prostitution. An Ye suddenly thought of this phrase, and he felt utterly terrible.
He didn’t mean to do that!
“There’s one more thing I need to correct you on. Between you and me, I don’t owe you anything, yet you always target me, a weak woman, and always act as if I owe you a great deal. I am very unhappy. Especially this time, you almost harmed me, and I feel there is no need to tolerate you anymore. When you accidentally bump into someone on the street, you say sorry. For everything you have done to me, honestly ask yourself, how many apologies do you owe me?”
An Ye’s mind was a bit confused now. When Feng Hua asked him to recall, he couldn’t recall exactly how many things he had done to offend Feng Hua. At this moment, seeing what seemed like tears and grievance in Feng Hua’s eyes, and the way her posture, which had been upright, now looked like she was bearing a grievance but stubbornly enduring it, an inexplicable sense of connection and guilt rose in An Ye’s heart, and an apology escaped his lips.
Feng Hua’s bright eyes swept over An Ye, and she turned her head away, refusing to look at him. However, with a change in mindset, An Ye, whose head was still very confused, felt not a bit of annoyance. Instead, he found Feng Hua inexplicably… cute.
Inside the car, Shi Ke Xuan watched the development with her mouth wide open.
She inexplicably felt that the current situation was like An Ye was a stray dog, now disciplined by Feng Hua into a pet dog with a leash around its neck, wagging its tail to please its master.
