The Saint is Not My Sister, The Real Saint is Me - Episode 11
“You! Are you Yuna?!”
“It has been a while, Father. Oh, I suppose you are no longer my father. My apologies, Baron Kotokoris.”
Despite this being a long-awaited reunion with his daughter, my so-called father showed not a trace of joy, instead glaring at me with fierce hostility.
What is this? Did I do something wrong?
“You! Of all people, how dare you impersonate the Holy Maiden?!”
…Ah, so that’s what this is about. He doesn’t like the fact that I’m being called the Holy Maiden.
“That’s right, I am the Holy Maiden.”
“Don’t be ridiculous! You just keep dragging your sister down! Are you trying to interfere with Emil by playing pretend as the Holy Maiden?! After everything we’ve done for you, you ungrateful wretch!”
Actually, it was me who took care of Emil, not the other way around. Do you have any idea how much effort I put into looking after her?
Well, it doesn’t matter anymore. I won’t be looking after Emil ever again.
“I am not an imposter. I am the real Holy Maiden. The fake one is Emil.”
“Wh-what did you say?! You, a failure of an older sister, dare—!”
“I am no longer Emil’s sister. Isn’t that wonderful? You finally got rid of the troublesome older sister. Thanks to that, I am now enjoying my freedom to the fullest and living happily.”
“What?!”
It feels so refreshing to say whatever I want. Watching Father’s face twist in anger is simply delightful.
“Enough of this! Emil asked for you, so I was willing to bring you back!”
“Who asked for that? I absolutely refuse. I will not return.”
Of course, Emil would want that. She’s always been obsessed with me, her twin sister.
“You—!”
“Baron Kotokoris, if you lay a hand on Yuna, I won’t forgive you.”
Standing in front of me protectively was Lord Rein.
At the sight of him, Father’s expression shifted from surprise to yet another grimace of anger.
“What is the meaning of this, Rein?! Is that how you dare speak to the father of the Holy Maiden?! Defending a fraud like her?!”
Oh wow. So, you’re casually addressing Lord Rein—who is the heir to the prestigious Ainakura Duchy—in such a familiar tone? Just because you’re basking in the power of the Holy Maiden?
“Yuna is not an imposter. She is the true Holy Maiden.”
“Have you lost your mind?! The Ainakura Duchy should know better than to fall for such nonsense! Do you understand what you’re doing?! If you defy me, you will no longer receive the blessings of Kotokoris’s Holy Maiden!”
“We do not care. We already have a Holy Maiden—Yuna, the Holy Maiden of the Fineable Empire.”
So he’s been using the power of the Holy Maiden as leverage all this time… I’d heard about it, but seeing it firsthand is just pathetic. I have never felt more relieved that I severed ties with him.
“What nonsense is this?! Yuna could never be the Holy Maiden!”
“I have already informed you before, Baron Kotokoris. I told you clearly that it was not Emil, but I who am the true Holy Maiden.”
“That’s impossible! Unlike your sister, you possess no power at all! How dare you spread such lies out of jealousy?! How despicable can you be?!”
So, nothing has changed.
Even in the past, my father dismissed my words as delusions and labeled me as a terrible sister who only sought to ruin her adorable younger sibling.
“Do you feel no remorse for Emil?! She even showed love to a failure like you!”
“Love? Are you referring to the way she stole my fiancé and even married him? Was that supposed to be Emil’s ‘love’?”
“As an older sister, it is only natural to yield a fiancé or two to her beloved younger sister!”
What kind of twisted logic is that?
“Unfortunately, I find Emil neither adorable nor lovable, so that’s impossible for me.”
“Yuna!”
“By the way, Baron Kotokoris, are you suffering from hearing or vision impairment?”
“What?”
“Everyone here acknowledges me as the Holy Maiden, yet you alone refuse to accept it. I was beginning to worry that you might not be able to hear or see properly.”
The people gathered in the plaza all believed in my power as the Holy Maiden.
That’s why, ever since Father started speaking, I could hear them murmuring things like:
“Is he insane?”
“Calling the Holy Maiden a failure? How foolish.”
“Justifying his daughter’s affair? What kind of parent does that?”
When I was still in Kotokoris territory, I was the one receiving cold stares. But now, the tables have turned.
Finally realizing the disapproving looks and whispers surrounding him, Father’s face turned red with humiliation as he glared at me.
I must say, that look of humiliation on his face—it’s quite satisfying.
“Emil was only concerned for you! Do you not realize how shocked and heartbroken she’ll be when she learns that you’ve stolen her place as the Holy Maiden?!”
That’s what you choose to say at this point? Whether Emil cries or laments, it means nothing to me.
Besides, shocked? Emil?
“Emil won’t be surprised. She already knows that I am the real Holy Maiden.”
She knew it all along.
Since she cannot grant divine blessings to the land, she understands that once I am gone, her status as the Holy Maiden will crumble. Emil knowingly made me her shadow.
Tell me, isn’t that the most wretched thing?
How could I ever love such a sister? I never could.
