- Episode 32 - Behind the Banquet – Emil’s Feelings (Part 2)
“What!? Don’t be ridiculous! Do you think you can speak to me like that just because you’re the son of a mere viscount!?”
“You’re just a Baron, aren’t you? Do you think you can speak to me like that when I’m the future heir to a viscountcy?”
“I am the father of the saint!”
“That woman is a fake saint! What power does the title of ‘father of a fake saint’ hold? It’s nothing but pathetic!”
“H- Hueish!-sama…”
Why? Why are you saying such cruel things? You were always so kind to me before…!
“Hueish!-sama, didn’t you always say that you loved me!?”
“That was only because I thought you were the Saint of Kotokoris. Otherwise, why would I bother with such a selfish and troublesome woman like you?”
“Selfish…? Troublesome… woman?”
Me…?
“You don’t realize it? You’re selfish and spoiled, and everyone dislikes you. They only put up with you because they believed you were the Saint of Kotokoris. But Saint Yuna of the Finable Empire is different—she is truly loved by all. Unlike you, she has a pure heart and is a real saint.”
“I’m… more disliked than Yuna-oneesama…?”
“Of course. Yuna-sama is on a completely different level than you. She is deeply trusted by His Majesty and Duke Ainakura. That’s why, unlike you, she was officially granted the title of Saint of the Finable Empire by His Majesty.”
“…That can’t be!”
“Yuna-sama is now inside, being celebrated by everyone as the Saint of the Finable Empire, alongside her partner, Rein-sama, the son of Duke Ainakura.”
“Rein-sama!? Why!? When I asked him to be Emil’s partner, he refused!”
“It’s unfortunate for you, but Rein-sama has good judgment. Oh, I’m so relieved. Thanks to Luki-sama, I don’t have to marry a fake saint like you. I should really thank him.”
With those final words, Hueish!-sama walked away, leaving us behind.
Yuna-oneesama… is inside, being blessed by everyone? While I can’t even enter the palace? Partner? Rein-sama… He’s the son of Duke Ainakura, a magic knight… Father originally intended him to be my fiancé…
My head is spinning.
Why? Why is Yuna-oneesama being celebrated more than me? I’m the one who’s supposed to be loved by everyone. This isn’t fair. She promised to live for our family! This is cruel, Yuna-oneesama! Because of you, our entire family is miserable!
I’m the one who should be celebrated and loved by everyone here! Why am I the one being ignored, compared to Yuna-oneesama, and humiliated!? This should have been Yuna-oneesama’s fate!
“Oh, my poor Emil.”
“Don’t worry, Emil. We understand better than anyone that you are the real saint.”
“Father… Mother…”
“Emil, you have the miracle healing magic. Until Yuna’s deception is exposed, you can endure by using that power. Your healing magic is a truly wonderful gift. Yuna could never use it.”
…That’s right. Yuna-oneesama can’t use healing magic. Even if she can bless the land, I’m the only one who can heal people.
“Yes, you’re right. I won’t lose to Yuna-oneesama.”
“Indeed. For now, we’ll let you use your healing magic for reasonable compensation so as not to draw the royal family’s attention. But once it becomes clear that you are the real saint, the world will recognize your miraculous power and grant you the rewards you deserve. And then, we’ll make them regret what they’ve done to us!”
“Yes, Father.”
It’s fine. Yuna-oneesama will come back to me eventually.
After all, we are twin halves—Yuna-oneesama and I are connected by our very souls. I love Yuna-oneesama. Even after everything she has done, I will forgive her.
“Hurry and come back to live for me again, Yuna-oneesama. I love you, Yuna-oneesama.”
Emil doesn’t know.
She knows that Yuna is the real saint, but there are two things she is unaware of.
One: Yuna has learned to control her saintly powers.
Two: The true nature of Yuna’s power.
Yuna’s true power is “the ability to bestow strength upon others.”
It was thanks to this power that Emil was able to use what is called “miraculous” healing magic—something she still does not realize.
