The Saint is Not My Sister, The Real Saint is Me - Episode 55
“Please take Lady Emil away immediately. Also, explain the situation carefully to Baron and Baroness Kotokoris and inform them that His Majesty will deliver their punishment at a later date.”
“Understood!”
This time, Emil, who had lost all strength, was led away by the servants of the Shaincle Marquis family, as ordered by Lady Mimosa, and was expelled from the banquet hall.
For someone like Emil, who believed she was special, this must be incredibly painful. Not that I feel any sympathy.
“Ladies and gentlemen, I sincerely apologize for the disturbance during this celebratory occasion. I will formally offer my apologies at a later date, but for today, I ask that we bring this event to a close.”
Continuing the banquet in this state was impossible. Thanks to Emil’s outburst, Lady Mimosa’s engagement celebration was ruined.
“Now then, Brother Luki.”
After dismissing the guests, Lady Mimosa turned her attention to Luki, who was still being restrained by the servants.
“Of course, you’re prepared for this, aren’t you?”
“Ugh… Ah…”
“Not only did you aid Lady Emil in infiltrating this place, but you also attempted to lay hands on Lady Yuna, the Saint of the Finable Empire. That is utterly unforgivable.”
Though Lady Mimosa maintained a smile, her intense fury was unmistakable.
“Ugh! This is all your fault! You became more capable than me!”
“That’s because you didn’t put in enough effort. Stop blaming others for your own shortcomings.”
“You…!”
Though restrained, Luki still struggled fiercely, attempting to strike Lady Mimosa.
“Haah, to think that someone like you is my brother… How utterly shameful.”
“Shut up! If it weren’t for you, I would have been the head of the Shainacle Marquis family! It’s all your fault! If only you hadn’t meddled—!”
Ignoring Luki’s continued tirade of resentment, Lady Mimosa turned toward us and bowed deeply.
“Lady Yuna, Rein, I sincerely apologize. Although Luki had a hand in it, allowing Lady Emil inside was our negligence.”
“That’s not… This isn’t Lady Mimosa’s fault.”
Since Luki was still, technically, the eldest son of the Shainacle Marquis family, it wasn’t strange for him to know secret entrances into the estate. And although he had cut ties with his family, it was still true that his former sister had caused trouble.
“As the Ainakura Ducal House, we will not overlook this.”
“Lord Rein?”
Why would he say such a thing…?
“Make sure he is punished properly. So that he can never repeat this.”
“… Heh. Understood. The Shainacle Marquis family will take full responsibility and see that Luki is punished.”
I see. This ensures Luki will receive a severe punishment.
Afterward, Rein and I left the Shainacle Marquis estate, leaving the aftermath to Lady Mimosa.
As we departed, I overheard Lady Mimosa’s parting words:
“Just as you did to me, you plotted to break Rein’s engagement as well. I will never forgive you. Rot in hell.”
Without a doubt, Lady Mimosa would ensure Luki received the punishment he deserved.
“Are you alright, Yuna?”
“I’m fine. Lord Rein, are you alright?”
It was my first time seeing someone other than myself being pursued so obsessively by Emil, and it was intense… Even just watching it made me nauseous.
“Honestly, it was disgusting. But I’m more worried about you, Yuna, for having endured that kind of affection for so long.”
“Ahaha…”
Back in Kotokoris territory, when Emil approached Lord Rein, she wasn’t in love with him yet. Just like with Luki, she merely pretended to be in love, hoping to take him away from me.
At some point, however, she genuinely fell in love with Rein.
What a strange fate—to have the same first love as my twin sister.
“I overlooked her actions before because of your situation, but this time, Emil will face severe punishment.”
Impersonating a saint is a grave crime. However, considering she had been carrying out saintly duties (even if with selfish complaints), past offenses had been overlooked. But after I severed ties with the Kotokoris family, her actions were no longer my concern.
“In Kotokoris territory, she spread rumors that you were a fake saint. She trespassed into the Shainacle Marquis estate. She defamed me. She insulted the Finable Empire’s Saint, Yuna. None of this can be forgiven.”
In Kotokoris territory, she had only spread rumors in a remote area—there was no financial or human trafficking damage, so I let it slide. But perhaps that leniency was my mistake.
“The Finable Empire’s Saint does not forgive Lady Emil. Ensure she is punished thoroughly.”
I wasn’t the one forcing her into hell. She willingly walked toward it. If that’s what she wanted, I’d be happy to help.
Her fate was no longer my concern.
— Later, Lady Mimosa reported that Luki had been expelled from the Shainacle Marquis family and sent as the second husband of a former baroness in a remote area even farther than Kotokoris territory.
It was practically an exile. From now on, he would have to spend his life catering to the whims of a cruel woman in her sixties, desperately trying not to be thrown out.
He would never again see the light of day.
As for Emil, she had completely lost my power and could only use her original, weak healing magic.
Having always relied on my strength, she never had the opportunity to develop her own skills. Her actual healing ability was so weak that it could only mend minor cuts.
The only thing that ever made Emil feel special was the amplification effect of my power.
Among those I had bestowed power upon, Emil had benefitted the most. That’s why, despite having only weak healing magic, she could perform miracles.
If we had worked together as sisters, we might have achieved true miracles. But… there was no point in thinking about that now.
“Kotokoris Baron and Baroness have finally realized Emil was a fake saint. Apparently, the Kotokoris estate was filled with their screams of outrage for an entire day.”
“I see.”
“Also, the Kotokoris couple has sent a flood of letters addressed to you, Yuna. The Ainakura Ducal House has received similar letters. In summary, they demand, ‘Return our daughter. The Saint of the Finable Empire belongs to the Kotokoris Baron family.’”
How dare they call me their daughter. They were the ones who disowned me and cast me out. Now, they wanted to cling to me? How convenient.
I would never forget the way they treated me in the past.
“I am no longer the daughter of the Kotokoris Baron family. We are strangers.”
I had not touched a single letter from my so-called parents. I was certain they were filled with self-serving words, attempting to use me for their benefit now that I was the Saint of the Finable Empire.
Like I would ever allow that.
“How was Emil punished?”
“Taking into account all her crimes, she has been sent to a monastery in the freezing outer regions of the empire.”
“Ah, that place…”
The monastery was considered a women’s prison—an ascetic life of strict discipline, meager meals, constant prayer in extreme cold.
Once inside, one would never again see the light of day.
“Hopefully, it will straighten her out.”
No matter what punishment Emil received, my heart did not waver in the slightest.
I had stopped thinking of her as my sister long ago.
“What a beautiful day.”
As I sipped tea on the terrace of the Ainakura Ducal estate, I gazed up at the clear sky.
Smiling with Lord Rein, I felt truly refreshed.
