The Savior Says She's Having a Breakdown - Chapter 4
Chapter 4: Descendants of Nuwa? (Part 2)
Day after day, the little bit of mental preparation Feng Qingyu had managed to build up for herself completely collapsed with the boring, tedious, unfree, mud-filled life.
On the fifth day, Maggie, as usual, dismissed Barbara, who had come by to probe the situation, still unwilling to give up. She returned to the secret chamber and sat on her princess chair, acting as the “overseer” and “jailer.”
Five days had passed. The Earth person in the glass room had mixed a fair amount of mud, but the actual progress on creating people remained zero.
Maggie put away her computer—she hadn’t been idle these days either, having filtered out more information about Nüwa molding humans from clay from the universal database—and handed it to the guard behind her. She massaged her temples, then looked up at the glass room.
It wasn’t a problem not to look, but looking was infuriating—Feng Qingyu had thrown mud onto the glass and was muttering angrily about something.
Maggie rose from her chair in a fit of pique, signaled the guard to open the glass room door, and walked in.
This led to the scene where, after she had just issued the “life-or-death ultimatum,” the person fainted.
Feng Qingyu woke up again, still in her daily pink resting room, but there was a woman with dark green hair standing next to her, wearing a light green coat.
Seeing her wake up, the woman in the green coat turned and said towards the sofa opposite the bed: “Your Highness, she’s awake.”
“Mina, what’s the situation?”
Feng Qingyu lay there, still feeling a bit dizzy. At this moment, she guessed that the green coat was probably the equivalent of a doctor’s white coat on Earth.
Mina’s voice was very gentle, and her tone was like a warm spring breeze: “In Earth terms, it is ‘malnutrition.’ It’s probably because our planet’s food has a different nutritional structure than what she usually eats, leading to insufficient nutrient intake and physical exhaustion.”
“Tsk, Earth people are so fragile.” Maggie scoffed and walked to Feng Qingyu’s bedside, looking down at her.
Maggie’s contemptuous tone completely enraged Feng Qingyu. Even a clay Buddha has some spirit, let alone her, who had always had a bad temper.
At this moment, Feng Qingyu didn’t care about being “under someone else’s roof” or combat power. She suddenly sprang up to a sitting position, about to say something, but only felt her vision darken, and panic surged in her heart.
A few seconds later, the temporary lack of bl00d to the brain passed, and Feng Qingyu regained her sight. All the fear and panic in her heart turned into rage. She pointed at Maggie and the guards behind her and shouted angrily: “Yes! We Earth people are fragile! Then why don’t you have the guts to stop begging a fragile person like me to save you! Who did I offend, for goodness sake? I was happily attending university, went to sleep in my dorm, and was kidnapped by you bandits! And you insist on calling me some ‘Descendant of Nüwa’ and saying I can ‘mold people from clay’! I almost thought I was crazy! It’s easy for all of you, placing the hope of saving your planet on others, talking without feeling the pain! You beg me for help on one hand, and on the other, you mock me and treat me harshly! Is this the attitude you use to ask for help? I even thought you were pitiful for facing extinction, pooh! You deserve what you’re getting today!”
After a tumultuous shouting outburst to vent, Feng Qingyu didn’t bother to look at the expressions of Maggie and the others. She directly collapsed back onto the bed, turned around, pulled the blanket over her head, and began to cry loudly.
She was just an ordinary person, with no extraordinary intelligence or startling family background. She had studied hard for twelve years, finally got into her ideal school and major. She was just a year and a half away from graduation and work, about to start a leisurely nine-to-five life, but she was kidnapped by these aliens. Not only could she not contact her parents, but she also had to live a prison-like life. The more she thought about it, the sadder she became; the more she thought about it, the more wronged she felt!
Thinking of this, Feng Qingyu flipped the blanket off and sat up again, tearing at her hoarse throat as she roared: “If you have the guts, just kill me! I’d rather be dead than alive now! Anyway, if I die, you’ll have absolutely no hope left! Who’s afraid of whom! Come on! Where’s your sword? Draw it out!”
Perhaps intimidated by her desperate stance, Maggie’s face was grim—and she left with the guard team and Mina.
After her tantrum, Feng Qingyu only felt her chest was even tighter and her breath shorter. The more she looked at the room, the angrier she got. She simply threw all the pillows and blankets on the large bed onto the floor, still feeling unrest. In her twenty years, no amount of ridicule or mockery compared to the humiliation she had suffered these past few days. It was truly unbearable!
In the conference room, Maggie frowned, looking unusually hesitant. “Tell me, did I make a mistake?”
Mina completely recounted the events that had just happened in the room to the other three.
Hena thought for a moment and comforted her: “Your Highness did all this for the future of the star nation. It was not wrong. It’s just…”
“Just say it directly,” Maggie waved her hand.
“Feng Qingyu is, after all, an Earth person who came to an alien planet because she was forcefully… invited by Your Highness—and based on this subordinate’s observation over the past few days, she genuinely does not know about the creation of people—this subordinate believes her outburst today is completely understandable.”
Fiona said sarcastically: “You’ve always been sympathetic to her. Why don’t you worry about yourself first? Soon you won’t even be able to have children…”
“Fiona!” Maggie glared at her with displeasure. The latter was still somewhat unconvinced but relented due to their relative ranks. Maggie then continued, “Hena, continue.”
“This subordinate believes it is already very difficult for a person, especially an Earth person who looks and is as weak as she is, to endure this many days after being forced to come to an alien planet. If Your Highness truly intends to pin your hopes on this Earth person, perhaps you should consider changing your approach.”
“Such as?”
“Your Highness must have heard that on their Earth, there is a strategy called the ‘policy of appeasement’ (or ‘soft power’).”
When Feng Qingyu saw Maggie again, she had calmed down. She didn’t expect that one tantrum would force the other party to let her go. During the past few days of keeping a low profile, she had discovered that the guards here were truly seamless in their watch, and she couldn’t find any opportunity to sneak away.
“I think we need to talk.” Looking at the person in front of her, who was visibly more haggard than when she first arrived, her already small face starting to thin, Maggie actually felt a hint of compassion, and her voice softened a little.
Although Maggie had clearly lowered her stance, Feng Qingyu felt she was a weasel paying respects to the hen—meaning she had ulterior motives. So she squinted at her and said coldly: “Talk about what?”
“Talk about sending you back to Earth, and also—helping us create people.”
When she heard the first half of the sentence, Feng Qingyu thought she had finally come to her senses. However, hearing the second half, Feng Qingyu felt she was simply too naive—how could a fool be cured so quickly after being a fool for so long!
Seeing that Feng Qingyu had no intention of speaking, Maggie felt a little awkward. She was never good with words, but for the future of her planet, she was trying her best.
Recalling the words Hena and Mina had helped her formulate before she came, she said: “I know you still don’t believe our words, but you are indeed the descendant of Nüwa. This fact cannot be changed.”
Feng Qingyu rolled her eyes at her.
Maggie almost lost her temper, but remembering the purpose of her visit, she had to restrain herself and said patiently: “I heard you Earth people have a saying that ‘saving one life is better than building a seven-story pagoda.’ You can have as much gold and silver jewelry as you want after the deed is done! The gold and silver on Planet Alpha have a higher purity than on Earth. You can take it all back. This is our compensation to you.”
“On what grounds?” The countless gold and silver treasures were tempting to Feng Qingyu, who came from an ordinary family. But thinking of the suffering she had endured these past few days, and her parents on Earth who must be worried sick, she only felt that the person in front of her was terribly selfish. She scoffed: “Solve your planet’s problems yourselves! I am a kidnapped, ‘fragile Earth person.’ I’d have to be crazy to agree to help a kidnapper like you!”
“You…” Maggie, who had never had to beg anyone since childhood, was also furious at this point. She stood up, wanting to draw her sword, but then realized her sword had been intentionally left outside—Hena had anticipated this scene and specifically requested her to leave it for the sake of the planet’s future.
“What about me?” Seeing that she couldn’t reach her sword, Feng Qingyu grew bolder and mocked: “Have you only heard of ‘Nüwa creating people’ and not of ‘Three Visits to the Thatched Cottage’? Even the emperors on our Earth knew to lower their posture and sincerely visit when they needed someone’s help. You are only an ‘heir to the throne.’ Are you unwilling to lower your stance for your own citizens? Then just hold onto your arrogance and watch your citizens perish one by one with regret!”
Maggie, not sure if she was angry or embarrassed, had a face that almost matched her hair color. She opened her mouth several times but coul
