The Scumbag A Really Doesn't Want to Become Famous [Entertainment Circle] - Chapter 1
At 1 a.m., all the trending topics and hashtags on Touchbo suddenly aligned in perfect unison. Every marketing account was reposting an interview clip of actress Jiang Musheng from a late-night radio show at midnight.
By 8 a.m., the buzz still hadn’t died down, with discussions soaring to a staggering 300 million engagements. This marked the first time in Jiang Musheng’s decade-long career that she had ever addressed anything related to her personal feelings, even if only vaguely. That alone was enough to send fans into a frenzy of speculation.

【If you haven’t seen this interview with Jiang Musheng, I’ll be heartbroken!!! So who is this white moonlight??! Is she so breathtakingly beautiful or did she save the world in a past life to deserve being Jiang Musheng’s white moonlight?! [/crying]
】
The video had no visuals, only audio.
“To wrap up the show, we’re truly honored to have Musheng join us for this interview. Since the alpha character in your latest film has a white moonlight in their heart, and your portrayal resonated so deeply, I’d like to ask on behalf of everyone does Musheng have a white moonlight?”
A two-second pause followed, the screen remaining black, making the audience unconsciously hold their breath in anticipation.
A soft, amused chuckle broke the silence, followed by a voice laced with cool elegance:
“I do.”
Succinct, yet enough to detonate the comment section.
Naturally, the host wouldn’t let it go. “Who is it? If you can’t reveal that, could you at least tell us if they’re still your white moonlight? Or maybe hint if they’re an omega… or someone you like?”
Jiang Musheng’s tone regained its usual detachment, as if that earlier hint of warmth had been an illusion. “That was the last question. Goodbye, everyone.”
The entire video showed nothing of her face, but that mesmerizing voice alone was enough to leave listeners spellbound.
【HOLY SH*T!!!!!!!! THAT’S IT?! THAT’S ALL WE GET?!】
【WHY DIDN’T SHE SAY MORE AAAAA OUR SHENGSHEN ACTUALLY HAS SOMEONE SHE LIKES!!】
【Okay, the secret’s out, everyone, it’s me. [/smile]】
【Probably just promo for the new movie. I refuse to believe it’s real.】
【How is this not real?! Did you hear that laugh just now? My soul left my body! This alpha’s charm is literally an automatic pheromone dispenser…】
【Shengshen’s been in the industry for ten years. Even if she had a white moonlight, it’s ancient history by now, otherwise she wouldn’t have mentioned it so casually.】
【LMAO keep dreaming, guys. Shengshen was in my bed last night and told me I’m the white moonlight.】
【(Screaming) (Thrilled) (Crawling on the floor) (Whimpering)】
【Ten-year fan here and I’m only finding out NOW that Shengshen had a white moonlight?! [/shocked]】
【Did she switch teams? This isn’t her usual style at all.】
“You know Jiang Musheng, right? We can even tailor her promotional team to elevate you. Just look at this interview, it’s a masterclass in movie promotion!”
“Miss Yu, do you still need time to consider? This is already our third visit.” The agent smiled, waving his phone. “The investors see limitless potential in you, and we have the perfect script lined up. We can make you a star maybe even as big as Jiang Musheng herself.”
The phone in front of her kept playing the video on loop. Yu Youqing could see the barrage of screaming comments and exaggerated praises rapidly increasing, while Jiang Musheng’s voice kept ringing in her ears.
The contract before her was tempting. Some foolishly rich investor wanted to promote her with astonishingly favorable terms, top-tier teams and resources. The only downside was… the approach was rather unconventional.
Yu Youqing smiled faintly. Noticing her expression, the agent became even more enthusiastic: “Don’t think this persona is bad. After all, the image of the perfect top-tier alpha has already been monopolized by Actress Jiang, hasn’t it? Audiences love a bad alpha. With your acting skills, Ms. Yu, you can definitely pull this off.”
The contract stipulated she’d be promoted via the “blackened fame” route, cementing her as a scumbag alpha persona. They’d even arrange for her to co-star with Jiang Musheng in a film.
The problem was, she was an omega!
In her previous life, Yu Youqing had outright rejected this contract without hesitation. Making an omega play a scumbag alpha? Madness!
But after turning down this script and new contract, she flopped in several consecutive films, got dropped by her old agency, and faded into obscurity. In the entertainment industry where new stars emerged constantly, being forgotten took merely two or three years. Later, her investments failed too, losing all her money and drowning in debt. In this lifetime, Yu Youqing never truly figured things out before dying young from illness in her prime.
When she opened her eyes again, she knew the heavens had given her a second chance.
Upon reflection, hadn’t her downfall begun precisely when she rejected this collaboration?
So Yu Youqing had only one thought: survival was paramount.
Even if it meant being cursed by the entire internet, she had to take it!
With a smile, Yu Youqing tapped the film clause in the contract, her jade-like fingertips captivating. “I’d like to ask, how far does the script go?”
The agent paused. “Ms. Yu means you don’t want intimate scenes? That’s negotiable! The script would need coordination with Ms. Jiang’s team regarding your requirements. You could even discuss directly with President Lin. But for the scumbag alpha persona, there must be at least one. ”
“No need for changes.” Yu Youqing’s smile deepened as her wavy hair cascaded forward. She signed the contract decisively. “I’ll follow arrangements. Pleasure doing business.”
If she remembered correctly, there was a scene where the scumbag alpha forcibly kissed the upright alpha lead played by Jiang Musheng.
How many people would kill for the chance to kiss Jiang Musheng? And here she was, already washed up, yet landing such a lucrative role.
Yu Youqing took a deep breath. Being alive was truly wonderful!
After signing the new contract with her previous agency’s termination fees covered by the new company, she knew better than to believe in free lunches. A child star who’d peaked young, though no longer at her zenith, she asked: “Can I meet my new boss?”
“Of course,” the agent smiled. “President Lin said if you’re free this afternoon, you could visit the company to meet her and handle some transition matters.”
Yu Youqing pressed her lips together, softly agreeing while sighing inwardly, feeling this matter might be even trickier than pretending to be a rogue Alpha.
The big boss had paid her breach-of-contract fees and provided her with a new team and resources when she wasn’t making any money at all. Yu Youqing was well aware she was a beautiful Omega and so was everyone else.
Though she needed to save her own skin, she wasn’t about to actually sell herself to do it.
In the top-floor office of Wintergreen Entertainment, Lin Xuqiao looked at the data on her tablet and said with amusement to the person before her, “You’re really something. If I hadn’t known you for so many years, I’d almost believe you actually had a white moonlight.”
Perfect publicity. She thought Jiang Musheng could easily transition to behind-the-scenes work if she ever stopped acting.
The person seated on the sofa across from Lin Xuqiao had just lifted a teacup to her lips. The gentle steam curled against the tips of her delicate lashes, yet it couldn’t obscure the striking peach-blossom eyes beneath.
With the slight inward curve of her eyes, every upward glance from the Alpha carried a chilling allure, blending an almost excessive beauty. Jiang Musheng’s features were unforgettable.
She was wrapped in an overcoat, her sharp high heels clicking likely just back from some event.
“Everything settled?”
“You think I’d slack off on something you asked for?” Lin Xuqiao rubbed her forehead in frustration. “But that girl really is proud, it took three invitations before she agreed. If you hadn’t said she had potential, I wouldn’t have bothered. Oh, and you still haven’t answered that white moonlight thing was just for publicity, right?”
Jiang Musheng took a sip of tea, pressing her lips together without responding.
Lin Xuqiao studied her expression and exclaimed, “You’re serious?! Who is it? I don’t believe it!”
Jiang Musheng, however, deflected the question. “Contract signed?”
“Signed. She should be arriving soon.” Lin Xuqiao’s train of thought was derailed just as a notification popped up on her tablet. She chuckled. “Perfect timing, she’s downstairs now.”
Jiang Musheng stood, picking up her handbag and slipping her sunglasses back on. “I have other matters to attend to. I’ll head out first.”
“Seems you’re not too keen on my newly signed artist. Why not take credit for your good deed?” By the time Lin Xuqiao finished speaking, Jiang Musheng had already closed the door behind her.
Lin Xuqiao muttered to herself, “If you dislike her so much, why go out of your way to help?”
Yu Youqing came alone.
With no paparazzi tailing her now, she wore a simple oversized hoodie and jeans, topped with a cap and a face mask looking every bit like a college student.
When she entered, the receptionist didn’t even recognize her until Yu Youqing briefly lowered her mask.
She stepped into the elevator that led directly to the CEO’s office, watching the numbers climb with growing nervousness.
Back when she was famous, she had been reckless, never sparing a thought for such formalities, navigating the industry with ease. But obscurity was an unforgivable sin, and Yu Youqing knew she had little leverage left to negotiate. That was why she felt so uneasy now.
As the elevator reached the top floor, Yu Youqing instinctively shoved both hands into her pockets and tilted her cap downward.
The doors opened, and her lowered gaze landed on a pair of high heels before her the feet inside so fair they seemed to glow, the skin making the shoes look stunning.
The shoes were this fall’s limited edition from a haute couture brand. She had tried borrowing them several times before but was always refused.
Yu Youqing suddenly felt her courage waver for some reason.
This was the direct route to the general manager’s office, so this must be the CEO, Ms. Lin.
She had arrived right on time was Ms. Lin really waiting outside for her so politely?
“Ms… Ms. Lin, hello.” Yu Youqing looked up and saw the imposing woman standing before her. The oversized sunglasses nearly covered her entire face, making it impossible to read her expression, yet an inexplicable sense of pressure radiated from her.
“Um, Ms. Lin, you’re being too polite.” Yu Youqing, receiving no response, was still tense. She wanted to step inside, but her new boss showed no intention of moving, leaving the conversation at a standstill.
One word summed it up: awkward.
In the midst of this awkwardness, Yu Youqing could only think of the contract. The person in charge had mentioned she could bring up any requests directly with Ms. Lin.
“Ms. Lin, I wanted to ask is it true that I’ll be collaborating with Teacher Jiang on a film?” Yu Youqing steadied herself and voiced her concern. “If my role involves… intimate scenes with Teacher Jiang, we’ll be using camera angles, right?”
After she spoke, it seemed as though the person before her momentarily stopped breathing.
The next second, the woman removed her sunglasses, revealing a pair of striking peach-blossom eyes.
Those eyes locked onto her, their depths unreadable, as she asked coolly, “What kind do you want?”
Yu Youqing: “…?”
