Chapter 21: Caramel Apple Tart – Sharing a Stall in the Restroom with My Wife…
Pushing open the ballroom door, the slightly intoxicating scent of wine in the glasses was blown away by the cold wind. Ming Xi chased after Xia Jinzhao, panting heavily.
“Xia Jinzhao, wait for me…”
The light hanging from a wire fell on the corner. As she turned, her wrist was suddenly seized. Immediately after, a great force pulled her aside.
Ming Xi’s upper body leaned forward, forcing her to look up. First, she saw the distinct line of the jaw, followed by a pair of dark, profound eyes.
Sensing instinctively that Xia Jinzhao was in a bad mood, her heart skipped a beat. Just as she was about to speak, she heard the other party demand in a low voice.
“Come here.”
Allowing herself to be pulled, she was led into the restroom. Xia Jinzhao easily locked the latch, confining her in the narrow stall with an intimidating aura that brooked no intrusion.
Ming Xi was too terrified to breathe, sitting on the toilet lid and facing the woman.
Xia Jinzhao looked down, questioning: “What did you say to Grandma?”
“I didn’t say anything.” Ming Xi blinked innocently. She had gone from feeling wronged to gradually getting used to the woman’s repeated accusations.
Right. The credibility of a person like the original owner has long been utterly ruined in the female lead’s eyes. What else can I expect?
“Didn’t say anything?” Xia Jinzhao sneered softly. “Did she suddenly bring this up if you weren’t fanning the flames?”
In these three years, she had been bound by a marriage contract, struggling in the Xia family. Even if outsiders saw her as incredibly successful, the collateral relatives all looked down on her more or less because of Ming Xi’s existence.
Xia Xuefeng’s most beloved junior ended up married to a talentless waste.
She had never given up the idea of divorce. But once she and Ming Xi had a child, the two of them would be permanently bound for the rest of their lives.
Ming Xi felt wronged by the baseless accusation and explained softly.
“I was distracted then, I wasn’t thinking much.”
“Besides, isn’t Grandma the one who loves you the most? Maybe she was just momentarily angry…”
“Love?” Xia Jinzhao curved her lips, cutting her off. “If she truly loved me, why would she make me marry you?”
She was usually cool and indifferent. Her occasional childish and willful words inexplicably resembled a cat arching its back and bristling its fur after being stroked against the grain.
But this person’s toxic tongue sure knows how to seize an opportunity…
“Don’t be like that. Grandma—” She’s also doing this for your own good.
Before this fake concern could be finished, hurried and chaotic footsteps suddenly sounded at the door.
At first, neither of them paid attention, until the newcomers opened the door of the adjacent stall. Judging by the sounds, it seemed there were two people.
Xia Jinzhao and Ming Xi instinctively shut up. The tense atmosphere that was on the verge of breaking was interrupted by this brief interlude.
But then, things started to become increasingly wrong.
“Mhm… be gentle.” The woman’s coquettish groan was accompanied by shallow pants, so sweet it made one’s bones go soft.
“Your leg… further.” The other person coaxed.
Accompanying this sentence, the partition was heavily struck. The woman groaned softly, and then the stall door began to shake rhythmically.
I can’t believe I’m hearing live s3x right here! Ming Xi awkwardly curled her toes, wishing she could find a crack in the floor to hide in.
Especially since she was with Xia Jinzhao right now.
She secretly glanced at the woman in front of her. The latter’s expression was equally displeased. She probably hadn’t expected anyone to be so brazen as to do this here.
The sticky, ambiguous smacking sounds were incessant. The two were kissing passionately, completely unaware of the two listeners next door.
As the passion deepened, the Omega’s pheromones instantly burst out in the narrow stall. A strange electric current traced up Ming Xi’s spine to her nerves.
In a moment of instinct, the pungent smell made her want to sneeze. Ming Xi winced uncomfortably, and this action happened to fall into Xia Jinzhao’s eyes.
Guessing her intention, the woman quickly covered her mouth.
In an instant, the cold air, carrying a bitter aftertaste, cleared Ming Xi’s eyes somewhat.
Next to her ear, Xia Jinzhao’s warning was delivered through gritted teeth.
“Don’t move.”
