The Scumbag Alpha's Redemption in a Sweet Romance - Chapter 2
Chapter 2
Ning Chun swallowed the red wine in her mouth, narrowed her eyes, and leaned back in her chair. She said threateningly, “Fine, but if you dare to run, I will absolutely not let you go.”
Yan Hua sat at the other end of the long table, keeping a safe distance from her. “I’ll marry you, but on one condition: I want to bring my sister to my side.”
Yan Hua had always been clear-headed. The current situation wasn’t suitable for a head-on confrontation. She could only take advantage of Ning Chun’s willingness to talk to get what she wanted. If that didn’t work, she would just threaten to die.
“Okay.”
“If you don’t agree, I’ll… What? You agree?!”
Ning Chun glanced at her coolly, muttering to herself, “Just how much of a scumbag was the original owner, to scare the female protagonist like this?”
Yan Hua’s sister, Yan Qingqing, was her first mission. But her intuition told her it wasn’t that simple. If Yan Hua could get her back with a single request, there would be no need for the system to assign it to her.
In any case, it had to be done sooner or later, so agreeing was no big deal.
“I’ll have someone prepare some food for you. Get some rest after you eat. We’ll go pick up your sister tomorrow.”
Ning Chun dropped the sentence and went back to her room.
Once the door was locked, she immediately relaxed her back. My goodness, playing another person’s character is really hard. She couldn’t do anything she wanted, which was very restrictive. She had never been a domineering CEO, nor was she a sadist. This role was a real challenge.
Ning Chun took a shower. As she put on her bathrobe, she noticed several red scratch marks on her arms. A stubborn wildcat really knows how to scratch.
The clear mirror reflected her face—it was her own, but without the harshness of the apocalypse. Her skin was fairer, so soft you could almost pinch it. Her facial features were perfectly striking. Without makeup, she was naturally cold, but with makeup, she had an air of a more mature, powerful woman.
If it weren’t for transmigrating, Ning Chun would have almost forgotten what she used to look like.
There were many high-end skincare products on the vanity. She picked up a bottle of toner to wipe her face, thinking about how to act tomorrow.
According to the plot, Yan Hua’s family assets had been taken over by her aunt’s family. Yan Hua’s father had passed away early, and her mother worked hard to raise her and her sister. Her uncle and aunt had moved in under the guise of helping, eventually tricking her mother into signing a property transfer agreement.
Recently, Yan Hua’s mother died in a car accident. Right after the mourning period, Yan Hua was kicked out by her uncle and aunt, with not a single cent left for her. Otherwise, the original owner wouldn’t have been able to get Yan Hua so easily.
Truly worthy of being the female protagonist—a beautiful, fragile, and tragic damsel in distress.
The butler was very efficient. The moment Ning Chun opened her eyes in the morning, three organized files were delivered to her door.
As she sipped her flat white, she signed the marriage agreement. “Take this and have Yan Hua sign it. Tell her that once the agreement is effective, what I promised her will be officially binding.”
After the butler left, Ning Chun glanced at the other two files. The pheromone compatibility test results were exactly as she had expected.
It was ridiculously low, to an absurd degree. The bright red 5% in the results column somehow stung her.
Sure enough, I don’t understand the world of angst novels.
The plot was built on this absurd data, which made her feel that everything that happened afterward was a farce.
The last file was more detailed than the first two. Besides the Yan family’s current situation, the asset distribution and business ventures were all clearly listed. The butler was indeed a capable assistant.
The marriage agreement was soon returned. Ning Chun saw the signature on it and nodded in satisfaction.
The butler, however, looked a little upset. He had been so happy to get up early to collect the information, but the results were so…
“Prepare the car. Miss Yan and I are going out.”
“Yes, Miss.” The butler hesitated. “That compatibility score…”
Ning Chun put down her coffee cup and ordered, “Keep it a secret.”
The butler’s face immediately paled.
Ning Chun crossed her arms and slowly walked around him, a heavy presence. “Who did you tell?”
The butler wiped the cold sweat from his forehead, guilty. “The madam insisted that I send her a copy of the files.”
The madam the butler referred to was the original owner’s mother, a woman who doted on her child but had a strong need to control her love life.
As soon as Ning Chun received this information, a call came in. The moment she answered, she was met with a barrage of angry shouts: “Look at what you’ve done! Out of all the great blind dates you could’ve met, you choose one with such a low compatibility score! The paparazzi’s harassing phone calls are coming to me now! Get back here immediately!” The phone call ended abruptly.
Since things had already come to this, Ning Chun could only take things as they came.
Before leaving, she went to change her clothes. She looked at the colorful, unique, and weird outfits in the closet and a vein throbbed on her forehead. What kind of aesthetic is this? They were all high-end custom pieces, but they looked like a chaotic color palette, with not a single decent one in sight. The entire walk-in closet was filled with overly revealing, excessively ripped, and clanging, chain-adorned clothes.
Ning Chun bit her bottom lip. So even the ABO world had its share of punks.
The butler saw her troubled expression and thought she was having trouble picking an outfit. He volunteered to style her, suggesting a leather jacket and leather pants with deadly Barbie pink crystal heels, and a rainbow off-the-shoulder top with a sparkly poofy skirt.
Ning Chun: “…”
Ning Chun said nothing, rubbing her forehead. Finally, she commented in a tone of despair, “They’re so ugly.”
“Do you have anything more normal?” Ning Chun pretended to ponder. “I think these styles are too repetitive. I want to try something fresh.”
The butler’s chest immediately swelled with emotion. He threw away the tacky clothes in his hands and made several calls.
Hundreds of tasteful, expensive, brand-name clothes for various occasions were quickly delivered, along with the country’s top styling team.
Ning Chun picked a few pieces from the new collection and nodded. Not bad. At least they were things a normal person would wear.
The butler was touched. The miss had finally seen the light. He no longer had to look at those eyesore outfits.
After she was dressed, the styling team started her hair and makeup. During the makeup session, Ning Chun had the butler send some clothes for Yan Hua to choose from. Yan Hua had been brought there with nothing, and her dress from yesterday probably couldn’t be worn. The clothes were meant as an apology.
The butler selected three or four outfits that fit Yan Hua’s size and style. He even put them in a gift box and personally delivered them.
Yan Hua only opened the door a crack, asking warily, “Is there something else?”
The butler smiled.
Ten minutes later, Yan Hua looked at the new clothes in the room, thinking that Ning Chun was up to no good and wanted to torment her again. But when she opened the boxes, she found only completely normal clothes. Besides the everyday styles, there were a few gowns with inlaid diamonds and jewels that were clearly very valuable.
This vulgar person! She’s trying to insult me with money!
After Ning Chun was finished, a stunningly beautiful woman with an extraordinary aura appeared before everyone. Throughout the entire process, all the staff were quiet, afraid of angering this notoriously irritable young lady. Only when thick stacks of cash were placed in their hands did they realize how much they had earned that day, and that Miss Ning was not as impatient and irritable as rumored. While she was a little cold and disdainful, she was more generous than any other client.
Ning Chun looked in the mirror with satisfaction. This is more like it.
Out of all the things in the walk-in closet, there was almost nothing she liked besides a few fully diamond-encrusted watches. Before leaving, she specifically told the butler to clear out the old clothes, saying she wanted to try a new style.
When she went downstairs, she saw that Yan Hua had been waiting for a while. She was also stunned by Ning Chun’s completely changed style.
Yan Hua had previously disliked Ning Chun’s personality and everything associated with her, but now she realized that she was very beautiful. When she stood next to her with a cold face, she felt a strong sense of security. The servants were also full of awe.
Ning Chun’s black hair was slightly wavy. Her black overcoat made her look absolutely cool and elegant, and the simple, high-end necklace around her neck made her look like a completely different person.
The two walked out of the villa, and the driver had already brought the car around. Ning Chun didn’t let the driver follow. She took the keys and drove herself.
As the Rolls-Royce drove a short distance, Ning Chun tossed a few papers to Yan Hua.
They were files on the Yan family’s assets. As Yan Hua flipped through them, her heart sank. Besides the shares her mother originally held, the shares she and her sister had were also taken by their aunt’s family. A total of 15% of the shares, valued at around 800 million yuan, had been transferred without a sound. It was clear they had been scheming for a long time.
The information wasn’t completely detailed, only a general overview. Before her mother’s death, Yan Hua did nothing but practice dancing. Everyone around her had been very kind to her, especially her aunt, who had shown more concern than her own mother. She never expected them to be so cruel.
The Rolls-Royce drove smoothly. Ning Chun glanced at Yan Hua’s increasingly serious expression. It was tough for a swan to suddenly fall from the sky.
Ning Chun cleared her throat. “If you need help, I can provide it.”
Yan Hua turned her head to look out the car window, her voice cold and hard. “I don’t need it. I’ll get it all back myself.”
Still no trust.
After a forty-minute drive, the two arrived at a small Western-style house. The house wasn’t particularly big, but its prime location meant its value had only increased over the years. It had to be worth tens of millions.
As they approached the door, Ning Chun noticed Yan Hua’s expression was off. It was ironic. It was her own home, but she still had to ring the doorbell.
The door opened quickly. The person who answered was an Omega in her fifties with a country-style demeanor but a brand-name outfit, which looked awkward.
“Auntie,” Yan Hua greeted her.
The moment the woman saw Yan Hua, her face changed, and she immediately tried to close the door.
Ning Chun’s foot slid into the crack, and the door couldn’t move an inch. The woman pushed with all her might but couldn’t close it, wondering where this little tramp found a bodyguard with such great strength.
Finally, she squeezed out a fake smile. “Oh, Hua Hua’s here. I just so happen to have some good news for you.”
Reluctantly, the aunt let them in. The two sat down, but they weren’t even offered a cup of hot water. It was clear they were unwelcome.
“Auntie, I came to pick up Qingqing. Where is she?”
The woman’s eyes darted away, and she instead grabbed Yan Hua’s hand. “Don’t be so impatient. You’re still single, so your aunt is here to introduce you to a potential partner. It’s my distant niece from my hometown. You’ve met her. She’s honest and has a decent face. She’s very pleased with you and says that if you marry her, she’ll take your sister in too.”
Yan Hua’s chest immediately burned with anger. The niece she was talking about was ugly, her family was dirt poor, and she was a complete degenerate, skilled in all kinds of bad habits. Because she was the only Alpha in her family, she was spoiled to the point of being lawless. When she lived with the Yan family, she had secretly touched Yan Hua multiple times. Calling her a scumbag was an understatement.
Ning Chun found a moment to cover her face, trying to hide. Now was not the time for Yan Hua to connect the dots.
