The Scumbag Alpha's Redemption in a Sweet Romance - Chapter 27
Chapter 27
“Are you going to sleep or not?” a sleepy voice came from her side. Lying down, Yan Hua was exhausted and clearly hadn’t rested well.
Ning Chun slowly turned her face to look at her, only to see Yan Hua’s eyebrows slightly furrowed, with a hint of impatience on her face.
But at least she didn’t say anything like “I want you dead,” so there shouldn’t be any major problems.
Her panicked heart slowly calmed down. Ning Chun tiptoed out of bed to wash up.
After washing her face, she finally felt a bit more awake. She had drunk before, but never to this extent.
As she stepped out of the room, she saw a servant pushing a wheelchair slowly toward her. A pale-faced girl was sitting in the wheelchair, looking listless, with only her eyes showing a hint of curiosity.
This was Yan Hua’s younger sister, Yan Qingqing.
“Miss is awake.” The servant greeted her and explained, “Miss Qingqing just went for a walk in the garden and is a little tired now. She’s planning to go back to her room to rest.”
“Hmm, walking around more is good for her recovery.”
The two didn’t know each other, and Ning Chun couldn’t find a topic, so she could only make awkward small talk.
Yan Qingqing had no intention of speaking. She was low on energy and quickly looked away.
The butler was very foresightful and had already prepared a sweet soup for her stomach. Since Ning Chun had gone to bed as soon as she returned to her room last night without sobering up, her stomach would definitely feel uncomfortable in the morning.
Ning Chun sat alone at the dining table, drinking the sweet soup and having breakfast. Messages kept popping up on her phone; they were from Ning Qing.
What did you say to Song Xiaoran? She actually went and told our mom that she doesn’t want to marry me.
Sister, I’m safe for now, but I feel like you’re in danger.
She couldn’t possibly be trying to break you and your wife up, could she?
Be prepared.
I have a meeting with a collaborator today. Come early, don’t be late.
Ning Chun’s head started hurting even more as she looked at the messages popping up on her phone.
What did Song Xiaoran say to her yesterday? She could only vaguely remember a few fragments, and they were all related to Yan Hua. Did she say anything else besides that?
Only then did Ning Chun realize she had been set up. That drink must have had something in it.
Given Ning Chun’s lack of business knowledge and the vast amount of content she had to learn, even though she had people teaching her and she was a quick learner, she still sometimes felt that she couldn’t keep up.
For several days, she was out early and back late. The unexpected problems that arose were a constant surprise. Fortunately, the capable assistant sent by the Chairman helped her deal with everything, and all was well in the end.
What tired her out the most wasn’t this, but the frequent drinking events and social gatherings. She watched Ning Qing thrive in these situations and sighed, thinking that she was indeed worthy of being a CEO.
Song Xiaoran had tried to ask her out a few times on the pretext of business, but she had always found an excuse to refuse.
If she couldn’t afford to offend her, she could at least avoid her.
Under Yan Hua’s careful care, Yan Qingqing’s condition was also slowly improving. One day, as Yan Hua was feeding her and wiping her hands, her sister suddenly grabbed her.
“Sister, I remembered something very important.” Because of the stimulation of psychotropic drugs, Yan Qingqing’s memory was often confused. At her worst, she couldn’t recognize anyone.
“What is it? Tell me, I’m listening.” Yan Hua gently patted her sister’s hand, soothing her emotions.
Yan Qingqing’s eyelashes trembled, and her breathing became a little rapid. The words were on the tip of her tongue, but she just couldn’t say them immediately.
The black, red, and white colors in her mind were mixed together. The dazzling bright lights kept stimulating her pupils, and her sympathetic nervous system repeatedly expanded, causing a stress reaction.
“I’m trying… let me think.” Yan Qingqing subconsciously licked her lips and even held her head with her hands, but she always felt that something was missing.
“It’s okay. It’s okay if you can’t remember. At least you’re safe now. As long as you’re back, nothing else matters.” Yan Hua’s heart ached when she saw her sister like this.
Before they were separated, she was a cheerful little girl. In such a short time, her body and mind had been devastated.
“Hongrong Trust, it’s Hongrong Trust.” Yan Qingqing tightly held her sister’s hand, repeating the name of the trust company. “This place is very important, Sister. You have to go there.”
She couldn’t remember anything else, but she somehow remembered the name of the trust company.
Yan Hua held her sister’s hand and pulled her into her arms, gently patting her frail back. “Did Mom tell you? Don’t worry, I’ll definitely go.”
Yan Hua told the domestic helper to take good care of her sister and took a taxi to Hongrong Trust. It was a well-known trust company in the city, and many wealthy people were its clients.
When she stated her purpose, the front desk lady made an internal call, and soon someone came to invite her upstairs to discuss.
The person was a competent and confident Omega with slightly curly reddish-brown hair. Her eyebrows showed a confident “you’ve come to the right person” look.
Her surname was Xia, and she told Yan Hua to call her “Sister Xia,” like they were old friends.
The two of them sat down. Sister Xia brought her a cup of coffee and explained the details of the trust. This was a trust that her mother had set up for the two of them. The amount was not small, a total of 60 million. The two sisters would share it equally, but there was a limit on the amount that could be withdrawn each year to ensure that their lives were secure.
“If you sign here, the money can be transferred to your card this month.” Sister Xia patiently explained to her.
Yan Hua’s heart was filled with complex emotions. Why did her mother suddenly set up a trust? Did she know that she wouldn’t live much longer? Or was it because of a plot?
She had always been out of touch with worldly affairs and didn’t know anything about the family. Her mother had worked so hard to support the family, but she couldn’t even get revenge for her.
“By the way, there is also a very special document that our company has encrypted and kept. Only you and your sister can view it, but it cannot be taken away at the moment. It requires a specific seal as an exchange token.”
What seal? Yan Hua carefully examined the special document and found that the seal was the personal seal of the family company. Owning it meant having the power to make decisions for the company. It used to belong to her mother, but now it was in her uncle’s hands.
Yan Hua didn’t dare to imagine what was in the document, but her curiosity urged her to enter the encrypted room to view it.
When she came out, her back was chilling, and she almost couldn’t stand straight.
But a special corner in her heart suddenly relaxed. The evidence inside had nothing to do with Ning Chun. The things in the company were not done by her. The one her uncle had shown her before was indeed a fake.
This meant that someone wanted to frame Ning Chun. Fortunately, she hadn’t acted impulsively at the time, otherwise, she didn’t know what kind of mess it would have been. She had almost fallen into the trap of the villain.
Then what about that video? Was it fake too?
Yan Hua couldn’t be sure.
Sister Xia waited outside the infrared zone. The encrypted room was locked by a genetic chain. Besides the specific people, even the staff couldn’t enter. It could be said to be the most private and secure solution currently available.
“Are you okay?” Sister Xia reached out to support her and poured her a glass of warm water.
“I’m fine. I’ll do my best to get the exchange token. Did you handle my mother’s insurance?” Yan Hua’s eyes were red, and she looked at Sister Xia with hope.
As a staff member, Sister Xia’s attitude was undoubtedly very professional. “I did.”
“Besides the policy, did she say anything else?”
Sister Xia sighed and said, “There’s one thing that Miss Yan might not know. Of course, it’s just a guess. Your mother might have been seriously ill at the time. She often coughed, and once she even coughed up bl00d. She quickly cleaned it up as soon as I appeared.”
Seriously ill? Yan Hua hadn’t noticed at all.
…
At noon that day, Ning Chun was eating in the employee cafeteria as usual.
Fortunately, the food in the cafeteria was very good. It was a fusion of Chinese and Western, with many choices. She had been eating there for several days and still hadn’t tried everything.
But the employees’ attitude toward her was very subtle, so she was the only one eating at a table.
Everyone else was in groups of two or three, bringing each other milk tea. Only Ning Chun sat alone, eating with gusto.
But she didn’t care much. Others would only slow down her eating and say a lot of meaningless nonsense.
She picked up a piece of mint-flavored pork ribs, took a bite, and it was a little delicious. She planned to get another serving after she was done. Her gaze lingered in the serving area, but before she could find the ribs, she was blocked.
Ning Chun had no choice but to look up. Song Xiaoran, wearing a long ice-blue dress, stood in front of her with a smile.
She swallowed the food in her mouth in a hurry, put away her tray, and was about to leave. It seemed that getting more food was out of the question.
“Xiao Chun, don’t leave yet. We can talk more about the collaboration.” Song Xiaoran’s skirt fluttered as she followed closely behind her.
Just like in college, Ning Chun used to follow her closely.
Talking about collaboration? That’s fine.
Seeing her stop, Song Xiaoran smiled sweetly.
“You didn’t eat enough just now, did you? Let me treat you to a meal.” Song Xiaoran suggested as she watched her put the tray in the recycling area.
Ning Chun had a good appetite and indeed hadn’t eaten enough. But if she ate with someone, from going to the restaurant, ordering, eating, talking about collaboration, and returning to the company, it would take at least two to three hours.
And she had already decided not to work overtime tonight. She wanted to go home early and would rather die than go to a social event.
During this time, she had figured it out. Business matters should be handled by Ning Qing. She was more accustomed to using her fists to talk.
“I’m full, very full,” she said against her will.
“Is that so?” Song Xiaoran wasn’t unhappy about being rejected. Instead, she generously invited her to sit in a cafe.
“You don’t mind if I order for you, do you?” Song Xiaoran said, holding the menu.
Ning Chun nodded. “I don’t mind.”
A mocha was placed in front of Ning Chun. Song Xiaoran ordered a cappuccino for herself. In front of them were also a hazelnut dark chocolate mille-feuille cake, a jasmine grape mousse, and a caramel walnut coconut jelly.
The portions were not very big, but they were exquisite and cute.
Song Xiaoran was the first to notice the jasmine petals on top of the jasmine mousse. She directly brought the plate over and raised her hand to call a waiter, asking them to bring a different one.
She apologized to Ning Chun. “I’m sorry. I didn’t realize there would be petals on it.”
She knew that Ning Chun was allergic to pollen.
“I’m sorry for embarrassing you with the ring last time.” Ning Chun felt that it was better to be open and honest with each other.
Song Xiaoran’s expression was a little bitter. “I actually guessed that it wasn’t for me because her initials were engraved on the ring, but I was a little unwilling to accept it. I even wondered if you had made a mistake.”
When it came to feelings, Song Xiaoran felt wronged, and tears quickly flowed down her face.
Ning Chun’s memory was hazy, so she couldn’t determine who was right and who was wrong when they broke up.
Seeing her sad, she could only hand her a tissue.
With teary eyes, Song Xiaoran saw Ning Chun take the initiative and happily leaned in, wanting Ning Chun to help her.
It had come to this point, and the hand that had reached out couldn’t be retracted. Ning Chun had no choice but to wipe her face for her.
Outside the glass window, Yan Hua happened to see this scene.
