The Scumbag Who Bowed for Money (GL , ABO) - Chapter 1
It was the third day since arriving in this unfamiliar world. Even though she already knew the plot, Xie Yuanwei still couldn’t shake off the fear.
The continuous rain had made the floor of the hotel room damp. Xie Yuanwei sat curled up on the bed in her pajamas. Her hair was a mess, and her face showed nothing but anxiety and helplessness. She pulled the curtains closed again, making the room even gloomier.
“Le Shi.”
She turned on the television. The local news headline featured that woman, Le Shi—dressed impeccably in formal business attire. She was speaking slowly and gracefully as she answered reporters’ questions. Her appearance was beautiful, her eyes seemed to captivate and hold one’s soul. Every glance struck a chord. It was said she ranked among the top five elite omegas.
But Xie Yuanwei felt overwhelmed with panic. She bit her fingernail, lost in thought.
She didn’t belong in this world. After going to sleep one night, she had somehow woken up inside the setting of an A-B-O novel. That alone would be manageable, but she had become a scumbag alpha. Worse still, she had just finished reading this very novel.
According to the original plot, she and Le Shi were engaged. But Xie Yuanwei had run away, taking a large sum of money with her.
Out of a twisted sense of morality, she didn’t want to disrupt the plot too much. So, she cheerfully took the money and fled. But to her surprise, Le Shi had immediately tracked her down that same night. The poor alpha had no choice but to hide out in a hotel, too afraid to step outside.
“President Le, please forgive this insignificant alpha. You deserve someone far better.”
Xie Yuanwei clasped her hands and quickly bowed twice. She tugged at her messy hair, realizing she couldn’t just sit around and wait for disaster. The flower of the future needed sunlight to grow.
She made a quick decision. She would go out and buy an ice cream.
She got up and changed into a new set of clothes. Holding a mask in her hand, she was about to leave when she heard someone knock at the door.
She paused for a second. She had just ordered food, after all. Before she could even take a step, someone called out from the hallway, “Hello, room service.”
Xie Yuanwei immediately relaxed. Her steps felt lighter as she hummed a little tune, still holding her bank card in hand. “La la, my food is here.”
The door unlocked with a click.
Xie Yuanwei blinked. Her hand on the doorknob began to tremble. Right in front of her stood a group of people, all of them looking strong enough to knock her out with a single punch.
“Heh. Hi.” She forced a smile.
Among them, she instantly spotted Le Shi. The omega wore a simple white blouse, her hair loosely tied back. Even without any elaborate styling, she looked stunning.
Xie Yuanwei was also beautiful. She and the original character shared almost identical features, especially her round, bright, deer-like eyes.
“Um, maybe I’m still half asleep.”
She quickly lowered her head and tried to close the door, but a pale, slender hand reached out and stopped it. Le Shi seemed to chuckle softly. Before Xie Yuanwei could react, she heard her cold voice.
“Take her out.”
Xie Yuanwei froze.
No, wait, hold on.
She had no strength to fight back. A few people grabbed her and forced her to her knees. Trembling in fear, she saw a shadow fall over her and awkwardly raised her head.
“President Le, long time no see.”
The card in her hand slipped and quietly landed on the floor.
Xie Yuanwei wanted to cover her face and vanish into thin air.
Le Shi crouched down slowly, picked up the card, and examined it. She let out a short laugh, then handed it back to Xie Yuanwei.
In that moment, Xie Yuanwei imagined all sorts of violent scenes in her mind. She squeezed her eyes shut, but nothing happened. Instead, she felt something being stuffed into the pocket of her shirt. Then someone gripped her face and lifted her chin firmly.
Huh?
Xie Yuanwei opened her eyes and found herself staring directly into Le Shi’s gaze. The omega was holding her face and spoke in a soft tone.
“If you like money, I will give it to you. But don’t run away again.”
“What?”
Xie Yuanwei widened her eyes, looking completely innocent. Her mind was still processing what Le Shi had just said. She was definitely happy about the money, but why did it sound so threatening?
Le Shi stood up, towering over her, then turned and started walking away.
“Take her with us.”
Xie Yuanwei was nearly in tears. She lowered her head, trying to hide behind her hair. She even tried negotiating, asking if she could walk on her own, but her request was coldly denied.
Such a cruel and heartless businesswoman.
She was forced into the car. Only Le Shi entered the back seat with her. The omega casually tossed a folding knife aside. It clattered loudly.
Xie Yuanwei’s eyes widened in terror.
She sat up straight, nervously rubbing her knees. She let out a couple of awkward chuckles, then cautiously turned to look at Le Shi, who was reclining lazily in her seat with her legs crossed, not even sparing her a glance.
Xie Yuanwei struggled for a moment, then finally spoke in a low voice.
“Where are we going?”
Le Shi turned her eyes toward her and raised one eyebrow. Her tone was playful.
“Did you forget? We’re engaged.”
Xie Yuanwei gasped. “Are we going to register our marriage?”
“If you are in a hurry, we can do it today.”
Hearing that, Xie Yuanwei let out a sigh of relief. She patted her chest and mumbled to herself.
“Good, I thought this was the end of my 27 years of single life.”
She immediately noticed Le Shi’s eyes fixed on her.
Xie Yuanwei quickly smiled and said, “I was just joking.”
She glanced at Le Shi’s profile. The omega had flawless skin and was, if she remembered correctly, only 24 this year. That made her three years younger, and already so accomplished. Life really wasn’t fair.
“President Le…” Xie Yuanwei couldn’t stay quiet for long. She reached into her pocket, then leaned forward, speaking in a quiet voice.
“Here is your card.”
She offered it with both hands, showing her sincerity.
Le Shi only gave it a glance before looking away.
“Keep it. Use it as pocket money.”
Xie Yuanwei suddenly felt offended. If it was just pocket money, then why bother capturing her? Could this be a sign of possessiveness?
The alpha sighed and turned to look out the window in silence.
The car moved quickly, but the journey felt long. Xie Yuanwei began to fidget. Her phone wasn’t with her, and the person sitting next to her felt like a silent mountain. Life was exhausting.
They were not sitting very far apart. Xie Yuanwei leaned her head against the window, staring gloomily at the scenery. She wasn’t sure how much time had passed, but she started feeling dizzy. There was a strong scent of peaches in the air.
She cautiously moved a little closer to Le Shi. She sniffed, confused, and leaned in a bit more.
The omega noticed her movement and turned to look.
“What are you doing?”
Xie Yuanwei let out a soft “Ah” and looked a little embarrassed.
“It’s just… your perfume smells really good. The peach scent is pretty strong.”
But in the very next moment, Le Shi’s expression changed. She immediately sat up straight, leaned over, and grabbed Xie Yuanwei’s face.
Xie Yuanwei was completely confused.
“Huh?”
Le Shi lowered her voice. Her lips were red and full as she asked,
“You can smell my pheromones?”
Xie Yuanwei blinked.
“What?”
As soon as she said it, she realized her mistake. In the A-B-O world, an alpha saying they could smell an omega’s pheromones was incredibly inappropriate. It was practically a form of flirting.
Xie Yuanwei, you are such an idiot.
She wanted to slap herself. She reached out, intending to grab Le Shi’s arm, but the moment she touched it, she immediately pulled back, hand trembling.
Oh no. Her arm was so soft, so slender, so pale.
Xie Yuanwei forced an awkward smile and gestured for Le Shi to let go of her face.
“Well… I can actually smell it,” she said carefully, licking her lips and choosing her words. “You aren’t wearing that thing, the… suppression patch?”
She wasn’t even sure if that was what it was called in this world. She felt like she was stepping into a minefield.
Le Shi’s expression turned strange. She touched the back of her neck and replied softly,
“I am wearing one.”
Before Xie Yuanwei could react, she heard Le Shi speak more clearly,
“Drive faster.”
Xie Yuanwei’s smile vanished. She gripped the door handle tightly, her eyes full of fear. Her thoughts were spiraling.
Is she going to silence me for real?
The original alpha had a terrible reputation, known for playing with innocent omegas and often criticized for it.
Xie Yuanwei looked serious and upset. She turned her head away, quietly reflecting on her life. She was so deep in thought that she completely missed the way Le Shi was watching her with curiosity.
“We’re here. Get out.”
Le Shi got out of the car first and stood beside it, waiting for Xie Yuanwei.
The alpha stepped out slowly, still shaking. She opened her mouth to speak but froze when she saw the large villa in front of her. Whatever she was about to say died in her throat.
Le Shi didn’t seem to notice her reaction. She simply took her hand and started walking inside.
“Let’s go home.”
Xie Yuanwei felt dizzy. She had escaped at night before, so she had not paid attention to the house. Now that she saw it clearly, she realized it was enormous.
She was overwhelmed with envy. Life as a rich person really was different.
Tears welled up in her eyes. From the look of things, Le Shi did not seem like she was planning to kill her. Was she really just bringing her home?
“I changed the door code. You’ll need it if you want to go out, so stop thinking about running away.”
Le Shi pressed her fingerprint on the scanner, smiled faintly, and walked in.
“Remember to change your shoes.”
Xie Yuanwei picked up a pair from the shoe cabinet and followed behind obediently. Her eyes wandered as she took in the surroundings. Everything in the villa looked expensive. Even the chandelier above her seemed like it cost a fortune.
On the coffee table sat an unfinished bowl of instant noodles and a half-full can of soda. They looked recently touched.
Xie Yuanwei tilted her head in confusion. Did Le Shi eat that? Shouldn’t someone like her have a private chef?
“Xie Yuanwei.”
Le Shi called her from upstairs. She stopped at a door and gestured with her finger.
“Come here.”
The omega’s gaze was soft and a little seductive. She bit her lip lightly, which only made her look more attractive. Her white blouse was slightly sheer under the light, showing a subtle outline beneath the fabric.
Xie Yuanwei cleared her throat and walked over in large strides. She had just begun to smile when Le Shi suddenly pulled her inside and slammed the door shut.
She barely had time to react before cold, heavy handcuffs were locked onto her wrists.
Xie Yuanwei stared in shock.
“You… I… President Le?” Her voice trembled with confusion.
Le Shi crouched in front of her, looking proud and in control. She pinched Xie Yuanwei’s face gently, leaned forward, and kissed her. Then, she buried her face in the side of Xie Yuanwei’s neck, took a deep breath, and whispered in a warning tone,
“Stay right here and behave yourself.”
