The Scumbag’s Redemption: Kept by Her (GL) - Chapter 1
Rain fell gently outside the window. Inside the private room, the air was hot and heavy with moisture. It felt like a steaming furnace. Ling Jiao was sweating all over.
She woke from a restless sleep, still in a daze, and instinctively licked her lips.
They were dry and cracked.
She let out a long breath. Her breathing was uneven and hot. A restless heat spread through her entire body, making her feel uncomfortable. It was as if countless ants were crawling across her chest. The sensation was not just painful but also tingling, almost itchy. It was so overwhelming that Ling Jiao frowned without realizing it.
As her mind cleared, she looked around and realized there was someone else on the sofa.
It was an Omega.
The person was curled up, head buried in her arms. A bathrobe slipped from her shoulders, barely covering her back. Her posture was tense and fragile, as if she were trying to protect herself. Her long legs were exposed, and her slim ankles were pale and delicate. Her skin was so fair it looked like it had been dusted with cream. A sweet scent lingered in the air.
The Omega’s breathing grew louder and more unsteady.
Before Ling Jiao could figure out what was happening, her assistant leaned close and whispered a reminder.
“Boss, they just brought Shen Yuwei in.”
That name sounded very familiar.
Ling Jiao paused and muttered, “You mean the Shen Yuwei who became an Omega at sixteen?”
Her assistant chuckled. “That’s the one. She was stubborn. It took everything we had to bring her here.”
Ling Jiao’s eyes widened.
Until now, she had believed she had simply transmigrated into another world, one different from modern society.
In this world, people were divided into three genders: Alpha, Beta, and Omega. Alphas were powerful and dominant. Omegas were delicate and sensitive, often so fragile that even walking could injure them or drinking water could make them choke. Their birthrate was extremely low, making them incredibly rare and valuable.
Betas were the most stable and ordinary. Most people were born with a fixed gender, but some would experience a change at sixteen. A very small number might shift from Beta to Omega, or Omega to Alpha. These changes were extremely rare. Most people remained the gender they were born with. Betas never went through a transformation and could not change into Alpha or Omega.
Alphas and Omegas were heavily influenced by each other’s pheromones. They were naturally drawn together.
Ling Jiao had transmigrated into the body of an Alpha. She was also the daughter of a wealthy family. Her life was easy and carefree. She had thought this world was just a strange vacation.
But now she realized the truth.
She had transmigrated into a novel.
Not just any novel. It was an ABO yuri story. The character she had taken over was the cannon-fodder Alpha who the villainous Omega hated with all her heart.
That villain was Shen Yuwei.
In the novel, Shen Yuwei was born an Alpha and came from a privileged background. Her parents loved her. Teachers admired her. Classmates envied her. When she differentiated into an Omega at sixteen, everyone valued her even more.
But everything fell apart when she turned seventeen.
That year, someone exposed that Shen Yuwei was not the real daughter of the Shen family. She was an impostor.
Once the truth came out, the real daughter was brought back, and the Shen family treated Shen Yuwei with cold indifference.
She fell from the sky to the ground in a single day. Once cherished by everyone, she was now treated with disgust. The people who had once flattered her now mocked her. Even her fiancée broke off the engagement.
She went from being loved by all to being hated by everyone.
And Ling Jiao, in the novel, was one of the worst. She had long desired Shen Yuwei and took this chance to forcefully mark her. She locked her up and started a twisted, abusive relationship that destroyed Shen Yuwei’s identity as an Omega.
Shen Yuwei did not stay silent.
She went mad and started taking revenge on everyone who had hurt her. Her first target was Ling Jiao.
Ling Jiao remembered clearly how the novel described the fate of the original Alpha.
Her glands were destroyed. Her family fell apart. She was chained and sold on the black market as a test subject for Alpha to Omega conversion experiments. She became the first known case of someone physically changing from Alpha to Omega after differentiation.
But that was not the end.
After she had been used, Shen Yuwei, who had completely lost her mind, bought her back. She locked her in the basement of a private villa and starved her to death.
The author had described it in gruesome detail.
By the time they found her body, her eyes were nothing but hollow pits, and her body was crawling with maggots.
Back when Ling Jiao read the novel, she had applauded that ending.
Now that she had become that same cannon fodder character and was facing the future villain in person, she felt her scalp go numb. Her hands trembled. Her legs went weak.
She could not believe her bad luck.
Ling Jiao clenched her hands and took a sharp breath.
“Help me up.”
Her assistant obediently supported her.
As she approached the sofa, her assistant started to brag.
“I worked so hard for this. Before, it would have been impossible. Only recently did the chance come.”
Recently?
Ling Jiao paused.
What had changed?
She thought for a moment, and the answer came to her.
The Shen family had recently brought their real daughter home. Shen Yuwei’s position in the family had become awkward and uncertain. If the timeline was right, she had already lost her allowance, and her personal bodyguards had been reassigned.
That explained why her assistant said it was easier now. He had created a huge mess for her.
The Omega on the sofa slowly lifted her head.
Her features were breathtaking. Her eyes, still holding a trace of clarity, were misty with tears. They looked fragile and full of emotion. One glance made Ling Jiao’s heart tremble.
Shen Yuwei’s breathing was fast and unsteady. Her cheeks were flushed. Her eyelashes shook. She bit her lip hard.
She was the perfect mix of innocence and temptation. Two completely different types of beauty were reflected in her face.
Ling Jiao stared. Her heart pounded. She licked her lips without thinking. Heat rushed through her like a fire, burning from the inside out. Her feet moved forward on their own.
“Ling Jiao.” Shen Yuwei’s voice was trembling with anger and hatred. “If you touch me, are you ready for the Shen family and the Ling family to become enemies?”
Her assistant scoffed. “Who still cares about you now? Your father? Your mother?”
She shrugged. “They are busy spoiling their real daughter. They have no time for a fake who stole someone else’s life.”
Shen Yuwei’s expression changed instantly.
Ever since the truth came out, her life at the Shen house had become miserable. Everyone looked at her with judgment and hatred, as if she deserved to be punished.
Her father, who once adored her, now only gave her a cold glance.
It was clear he wanted her gone.
Seeing Shen Yuwei on the verge of breaking down, Ling Jiao snapped back to her senses.
“That’s enough. Stop talking and get out.”
After the assistant left, the waves of heat returned. Shen Yuwei’s eyes began to lose focus.
It was too hot.
In her dazed vision, Ling Jiao seemed like a massive block of ice. If she could just get closer, she could have everything she wanted.
Comfort. Touch. A mark.
Shen Yuwei stared at her, eyes wet, as if she had made up her mind.
Suddenly, she stood up and wrapped her arms around Ling Jiao’s neck, kissing her wildly.
Her lips were soft, clumsy, and a little sticky. She bit and licked without skill. It was messy and confusing.
Ling Jiao had never experienced anything like it. Her mind went blank.
“Wait… just wait a second.” Her voice was weak and broken.
She opened her eyes wide and braced her hands on both sides of the sofa. The Omega’s kisses left her breathless. Caught between rising heat and uncontrollable desire, she found herself closing her eyes.
Then something cold pressed against the back of her neck.
A sharp pain pricked her skin. It felt like a blade.
Ling Jiao instantly came back to her senses. Her eyes flew open. Her body went stiff.
In a flash, she shoved the Omega away and stumbled back several steps, her hand clutching her neck.
Her voice was full of shock and disbelief.
“You…”
Alphas were born with physical strength that Omegas simply could not match. Shen Yuwei’s eyes were red at the corners from anger. Her lips curled into a mocking smile filled with humiliation and defiance.
She held a fruit knife in her hand, her expression pale and desperate.
“What’s wrong?” she said. “Afraid to come closer now?”
“Didn’t you want to mark me? Is that all the courage you have?”
Beautiful. And completely unhinged.
Ling Jiao gasped softly. In the current version of Shen Yuwei, broken and angry, she could already see the beginning of the unhinged villain the novel would turn her into. She could also see the horrifying end that awaited the original Ling Jiao.
“Calm down. Don’t hurt yourself,” Ling Jiao said cautiously, staring at the fruit knife in her hand, terrified she might suddenly throw it.
Shen Yuwei’s voice was hoarse, full of despair.
“Take one more step and I’ll kill myself. I mean it.”
Ling Jiao clenched her teeth.
“There’s something you probably don’t know about me.”
“I’m a Buddhist. I live a celibate life. I believe in spiritual connection, not physical ones. In short, I’m a Platonist.”
Shen Yuwei’s grip on the knife trembled. Her rationality was crumbling.
She asked in a dry, shaky voice, “Do you think I’ll believe that?”
Ling Jiao looked her straight in the eyes. Her expression was more serious than ever.
“I promise you.”
There was something unfamiliar yet sincere in her voice that made Shen Yuwei pause in confusion.
She didn’t know whether or not to believe her.
Ling Jiao knew that, in the book, the original character had already lost all trust with Shen Yuwei. Anything she said now could seem like a cruel lie meant to trick an innocent girl into her doom.
Her mind raced.
If she marked Shen Yuwei now, taking advantage of her weakened state, Shen Yuwei would hate her forever. No matter what happened after, that hatred would never go away. It would be better to start earning her trust from this very moment and change her impression completely.
Suddenly, Ling Jiao had an idea.
She quickly said, “Wan Qing has an inhibitor. If you put the knife down, I’ll give you the injection.”
Shen Yuwei froze, trying to judge whether Ling Jiao was telling the truth.
But she had no better options.
If Ling Jiao really wanted to forcefully mark her, Shen Yuwei had no chance to fight back. And she was not willing to die just to preserve her innocence. She wanted to live. She wanted to survive and take revenge on everyone who had hurt her.
And now, Ling Jiao was offering a different path. A way out.
Shen Yuwei glared at her.
“If you’re lying to me…”
Ling Jiao took a deep breath and raised her hand in a solemn vow.
“If I’m lying, may I go through a second transformation and turn into an Omega. You can do whatever you want to me.”
For a strong Alpha, there was no worse curse than that. It was the ultimate threat.
If she was willing to swear something so extreme, maybe she could be trusted—if only a little.
Shen Yuwei finally relaxed. Her grip loosened. The knife slipped from her hand and hit the floor with a loud clang.
But the moment her guard dropped, the full weight of the heat overwhelmed her. She was completely consumed.
Ling Jiao quickly kicked the knife away. She turned, ready to find Wan Qing.
But before she could move, a warm body pressed against her and wrapped around her tightly, with a force so strong it felt like the person wanted to melt into her bones.
Ling Jiao froze.
Her adrenaline surged. The intense pheromones in the air made her eyes redden.
Shen Yuwei buried her face into Ling Jiao’s neck, rubbing against her wildly. There was no rhythm, no control, only desperation.
Ling Jiao’s knees went weak. She almost collapsed under the weight of it all.
Panting, she shouted as loudly as she could.
“Wan Qing! The inhibitor!”
