The Second Son of The Marquis Runs Away from Home ~ Lacking Talent, He Abandons Everything and Becomes an Adventurer ~ - 103
Chapter 103: The Beginning of War
A barrier of water and waves of flames blocked the approaching monsters from above. Meanwhile, I grabbed crossbows with both hands and aimed at Bakuras and Fifths’ legs, firing.
Bakuras deflected the shots with his spear, and Fifths jumped backward to dodge…
In that moment, Ganza, with Zamma poised to strike, had closed in on Fifths.
“Taketsukuga Kusou Enkai!”
“What!?”
With these powerful words, Ganza’s entire body was covered in a rock armor as he stepped forward. Simultaneously, the ground cracked, causing a rumble. Fifths, who had parried the shaking blade with his staff, was sent flying with a high-pitched sound.
“Taketsukou Zamma… Take this!”
Chasing after Fifths, Ganza leaped. Rakul followed suit, disappearing over the roof.
“I’ll be your opponent.”
“Tch! Human-Abandoning Beast Armor Bugrel!”
As Bakuras swung, insects gathered on his entire body, forming armor. He blocked a sword with his spear and then launched a scorpion tail from his back.
I immediately drew a small sword and deflected the tail. Trying to counterattack, I changed the grip, attempting to stab his side, but he evaded by soaring away.
Climbing the mansion wall to catch up with Bakuras, I swung a crescent axe, Bardiche, upon reaching him. Bakuras promptly parried it with his spear.
Upon landing on the roof, monsters attacked. Using a hand axe and a small sword, I struck the head of a monster coming from the left and pierced the throat of another from the right.
Dropping the weapons and grabbing a two-handed sword, a greatsword, with a reverse grip, I impaled the approaching monster from behind. Holding the hilt with both hands, I rotated the greatsword forcefully, dispersing the monsters around me.
Bakuras blocked my downward swing with his spear. Both weapons crossed, and we found ourselves in a deadlock.
“If my brother is a monster, then you are a freak. Matching strength with me in this form…”
“I don’t want to hear that from you, in that form.”
“And on top of that, you can’t shut up, can you?”
I deflected the spear’s tip approaching me with my gauntlet, sending what was released to pierce through the roof next to me.
With wind enveloping my legs and knee pads attached, I kicked Bakuras’ abdomen. However, as I kicked, Bakuras leaped backward, evading the knee strike, and sent a knee kick towards me while pointing his spear.
“You won’t be dealing with me.”
“What?”
“The one to deal with you is over there.”
Saying that, Bakuras pointed to the central courtyard. Just after that, I sensed something wriggling at my feet. Looking down, I saw a bug that had swollen to the point of almost bursting.
Jumping back to avoid the danger, the bug exploded. As the blast hit the courtyard, pillars rose mysteriously from the four corners, emitting an eerie glow.
While Aria and Serena, who were fighting on the roof, noticed us, a barrier was set up around the courtyard. I gestured to stop Aria and the others from coming here, focusing on the opponent in front of me.
“It seems that it was supposed to be your fiancée. So, shouldn’t you be the one to deal with it?”
Bakuras announced through the barrier as the object in the courtyard began to move. What appeared to be scrap metal was actually wings. Concealed beneath the wings were a lower body resembling the claws of a raptor, and the upper body took the form of a woman clad in full-body armor.
“————!!”
While trembling, the body, constructed from several pieces of scrap metal, emitted a scream that seemed to resonate like metal striking metal. Shining on its forehead was that crystal again…
