The Second Son of The Marquis Runs Away from Home ~ Lacking Talent, He Abandons Everything and Becomes an Adventurer ~ - 154
Chapter 154: Sword of the Black Storm
“Kyu-ru-ru… Gi-gi-gi!”
The Guardian attacked, emitting a creaking gear-like scream and spraying saliva as its four scythes came at me.
Dodging the scythes approaching at my feet, I climbed up, but immediately, scythes attacked from the left and right. When I leaped to evade, the last scythe came straight at me.
I tried to block with my sword, but I was once again repelled, and then the gun emitted a tremendous sound and spewed fire.
I immediately defended with the Tower Shield, equipped with stakes, but in the meantime, the Juggernaut continued to advance.
(…The attacks stop when a certain distance is maintained.)
Perhaps it was designed to attack those within the reach of those scythes. When the Juggernaut advanced again, the attacks abruptly ceased.
Confirming the ejection port, I saw several Metal Lizardmen trying to remove the giant axe. If I didn’t hurry, we’d be surrounded by them again.
“No choice…”
I couldn’t afford to spend any more time. Although I had been secretly training since my time in the kingdom, I had no choice but to do it for real now.
Putting my hand on the sword, I concentrated the flame-like darkness enveloping my entire body onto the sword, swirling the darkness until it formed a tornado-like black storm around the sword, facing the Guardian.
…Ever since manifesting “Eclipse Erosion,” I had been thinking.
Because I had little magical power that could be released externally, the power of attack magic released externally was weaker than usual. Therefore, I had given up on attack magic and focused on enhancement and empowerment.
However, watching Aria and Ruskdite, I came to realize: could I not use the darkness of Chaos Crusader, which was inherently intangible, in place of magic…?
Taught by Aria, and after trial and error, I came up with a technique… If I had to give it a name…
“Storm Bringer of the Black Blade Dance!”
Swinging the sword, the darkness enveloping the blade was released towards the Guardian. The Guardian swung its four scythes, but the storm of darkness clashed with the scythes, deflecting them.
The darkness transformed into wind and thousands of blades, restraining the Guardian, and a tunnel of black storm was created between me and the Guardian.
I leaped into the darkness, emitting darkness from my legs and cloak. The black storm accelerated me as the darkness gathered back onto the sword.
I thrust the sword, shrouded in the black storm, straight into the Guardian’s torso. The sword sliced through the Guardian, along with one of the Juggernaut’s forelegs.
“Gigaaaahhh!!?”
As I landed after swinging the sword, the Guardian let out a dying scream and exploded. The Juggernaut, losing balance, stumbled to a halt.
—
At a point slightly away from the Juggernaut…
Shurin, with amber eyes, aimed her bow at the motionless Juggernaut within the barrier set up by Serena.
“Found it.”
She murmured and prepared her bow, then told Serena, who was maintaining the barrier while remaining vigilant of the surroundings.
“When I release it, deactivate the barrier.”
“Understood.”
With few words exchanged, but synchronized in their actions, Serena impressed Shurin. Shurin then aimed her bow and uttered powerful words.
“Verdant Storm of the Green Garb, Eilsied!”
Her entire body was covered in a green wind…
